So I ran over an RV block on 589 one night and it tore up the front and undercarriage of my car. I took it to Don's for repair. The service was great and they are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Unfortunately because of my make of car, there was a part that was really hard to find. But they found it! Unfortunately, I came out of the movie theater to find a few people by my car and they told me someone backed into my car which used it onto the pole in front of my vehicle and put a dent in the back and broke the grill. Although, there is not much parking out front, the employees will take care of you and if needed, they will help move your car for you. Service is great and it is an easy process to drop off & pick up your car as well. This spot was recommended to me by my uncle, who have been coming here for many years. Sado is the one who mainly helps us whenever we come by with any problems or concerns. It was only a few days before my wedding and I was coming home from shopping. I was literally about 3 blocks from my house. When I was rear ended by a young lady who was not paying on attention from being on her phone. I filed a claim through my insurance and they connected to her insurance. And I chose Dons body shop, I have never been to this body shop before however I am so glad that I did have them work on my car! They were very responsive and made sure to always update me on anything that changed! When my car was finished they called me right away to let me know that my car was ready to come home! I also have damaged to the front of my car from someone backing into my car unfortunately I feel like my car had been a hot magnet. BEWARE! Under new ownership. We have used this shop for years and referred quite a few people. Never had any problems until now and came to find out they are under new ownership. We were quoted 3-5 days for some repairs. By day 4 we had not received any communication from the shop so called to check up on it and were told it would be ready Friday, which would have been day 6. At that time we were ok with the extra day. We called again on the morning of day 6 (Friday) and were now told they are just now starting to paint it and now it will not be available until Tuesday or Wednesday following Memorial weekend. As we had planned our weekend around having the car, this was super frustrating. No good reason was ever given for the delay, except they ran out of time. I talked to multiple people trying to get answers and they all just said sorry and shrugged it off. They refused to offer any kind of compensation for the lack of communication and misinformation provided multiple times. The repair itself was fine, but if you value your time, and appreciate communication, we do not recommend you use this shop. We will not be back. read more

Where do I start. Well I guess first thing, how did I hear about them? I was referred to Don's via a good friend of mine who has been taking his cars here for body work. Although I did check out a handful of other body shops and read reviews of other shops, who also produced very great ratings (just like Don's), my gut told me to just come here since there was already a great rapport about this place and in specific the person who helped me with the entire process, shout-out SADO! At first I was hesitant and thought "why don't I just take my car straight to a Mercedes." I was apprehensive because of the concern that a lot of body shops are inexperienced with European cars due to the challenges that can come with European cars/parts, etc, but I later found out that not all Mercedes have a body shop and take cars to a partnered body shop anyways, so ultimately I just took my chances and listened to my friend's advice on trusting Don's (also since my friend had also taken his European cars there too!!) And I don't have any regrets on that decision at this time! It was because of my initial interaction with Sado that made me feel safe about leaving my car with them. He was informative and transparent and pretty much told me he would handle everything once I filed the claim with my insurance, and he did just that. Sado kept in touch with me and always kept me updated whenever I asked for it and whenever he said he would- Kept his word!!!! Even though the repairs took a bit longer than what was initially estimated, the car came back as new as I bought it; You wouldn't have known anything had ever happened. Naturally I was getting concerned about why things were taking longer than expected but again, Sado kept me in-the-know and was never impatient with my questions and needs for updates. Some things to keep in mind though: 1. Appointments only, so I called to make an appointment to have them look at my car 2. You cannot submit photos of the damages for a quote (other shops allowed me to do that, which is why I mention this) 3. Things may take longer than what was stated because things change once they open up the parts and see the interior. Best to be patient and let them do their job because you want the best work done to your precious car! 4. If you go through insurance, once your claim is filed, you just hand over the claim number & they legit take over everything from there. I did not have to talk to my insurance once after my claim was made! Not about payments, not about anything...Took some weight off my shoulders! In all, I 10/10 recommend Don's body shop. I didn't feel pressured at all by Sado to use their shop for repairs; he understood that I wanted to explore other options and was very respectful of that! The mechanics did an amazing job with the body work and the shop coordinated the entire process with my insurance & Mercedes to recalibrate my car. I am giving it a 1 so I can write this review they have had my car since Aug 21st JUST CALLED TODAY saying they did not have the part to fix it, asked why did you not call leave message etc. said they did checked vm on today NOTHING so my car has set there for this darn long I noticed when I took my car there the time before this their customer service is just not the same as as far back as 1 year. This was under an insurance claim too, very shoddy work poor customer service and customer communication, it was like NO BIG DEAL to them. In my mind it was getting fixed never did I think just sitting outside with NOTHING being done I will never use them again and I suggest you go to G&C used them before they were great it is in Fremont tried to go closer but closer not better for sure. read more

The service and body work was very good quality. I got hit in the rear on my Honda Odyssey and had to replace my bumper and dents in the rear tailgate door. After the repairs, the color match was great and the dents gone. They were efficient in how long it took for the repairs, and they worked well with my insurance company. The people and service at Don's Body Shop are top notch! Sado, the manager is so wonderful. Friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and so thoughtful. Constantly thinking about my concerns dealing with the insurance company and things that I did not consider to be needed, all due to his experience with the entire process. He had parts already ordered promptly, so that when the okay came through they were ready to get to work. The car was ready when he had predicted. He suggested that I do a "swap out" with the rental car company (I had never been offered or heard of that before) and it was wonderful. The normal hassle of returning the rental was gone. The work yard is clean and well maintained, the office is comfortable and welcoming and the office staff is #1. I had some damage to my car by a neighbor so I wanted to get a quote for the damage before I went thru insurance as I had no idea what the cost would be. Decided to check out Don's Body Shop as is close to my home and I have seen it for decades in this location. After pulling into one of the few spots outside the gate I went into the office to talk to someone. The waiting room was empty first thing in the morning and it took a while for someone to come to the plexiglass window. Once someone came I asked if they are able to provide an estimate for my body damage and without saying a word the guy just pointed in a corner of the plexiglass. Among dozens of stickers on the glass I saw one that said "by appointment only". I told the guy I was sorry and didn't see that among all the stickers and asked when I could schedule an appointment. He pulled out a business card and tossed it to me. For the first time he spoke and said I would have to call. I was like seriously, I'm right here now and would like to make an appointment. He gestured back to a computer 20ft behind the main desk and said he had to make the appointments over there and couldn't take them in person. After that he walked away. I walked out leaving the card in the lobby and went to another body shop on the Boulevard which provided 1000x better customer service (the bar was extremely low!) Ironically, I ultimately had to go thru the insurance of the person who hit me and their insurance adjuster was really pushing me to use their preferred body shop as they could guarantee the level of work and service I would experience. I asked for the shop name they wanted me to go to and they said their preferred shop in my area was Don's! You can bet I gave them my other shop's details and won't ever use insurance that recommend Don's after not being unable to provide even a low level of customer service.
