I received a call from individual who was coming over that she had another client who could "only be home between 12:00-2:00" and could I switch my time for later in the day. I had plans that day and I said let's reconnect the following week. That was over two weeks ago and she never followed up. I don't think it's very professional to set up an appointment with someone and try to reschedule because someone else wants that time. I don't think it's my job to call back and reschedule. At that point I felt I didn't want to give them by business. I also used them last year to replace blinds-- the blinds are high quality , and the installation went well. However, after the installation I did not receive an email or phone call from sales person following up to make sure everything went okay with install. Seems like a minor issue; however, something that's been done with services I've had in the past with other companies.

Mark from Blind Connection answered the phone right away and set up an appointment with me. The other 2 companies needed to take my name and call me back; it took 3 days for 1 of the other to return my call and the other one returned my call but was so rude, I decided not to pursue them. Mark came by the house and was very patient listening to what I was needed. He had many samples and was very knowledgeable about his products. I settled on Hunter Douglas because I liked the quality. A few weeks later the blinds came in and he came back to install them as well! I like that I was dealing with the same person from phone, to appointment, to ordering and finally the installation. He did a fantastic job for my family and I will be using him again in the future.

I ordered on April 27, 2026, and waited over two months for installation on June 29 (he stated they ship from a factory in China). After the long wait and high expense, the inside-mount shutters completely block my double-hung windows from tilting inward to clean and make it impossible to remove window screens--a direct issue for my HOA requirements. Identifying window compatibility before taking measurements is standard professional practice. Since June 29, I have spent over three months trying to resolve this: Matt refused to fix his mistake and demanded an additional $804.37 to switch them to an outside mount. Budget Blinds Corporate declined to intervene, deflecting responsibility back to the franchisee. Their advertised "No Questions Asked" warranty offered no solution. I filed complaints with both the Better Business Bureau (which Matt ignored) and the Illinois Attorney General's Office (awaiting update). As a 70-year-old senior on a fixed income, I relied on a professional so I wouldn't face these issues, only to be expected to pay hundreds more to correct a design oversight. I strongly advise going elsewhere for an experienced company that can identify what will work on your personal windows, takes responsibility, and values its customers--Matt Ozimek's Budget Blinds franchise is NOT IT!
