He checked it right away, after 10 or 15 minutes he told me that he couldn't believe I have 293,000 miles on my 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan. I can't believe it either. With that, he told me it's not worth fixing and it's time to let the van go. He told be the codes confirmed the shift solenoid, but it's not worth it. The fluid looks good and clean, as it should. CAround late November of 2021 my car broke down. I was driving in a subdivision and ,upon taking a…read moreturn, I heard a (clunk-like) breaking sound, and my car stopped moving forward. It only moved in neutral, reverse, and the lowest gear after that. (This happened while I was working, so you can imagine the disbelief and stress I felt). I got it towed the following day. With the description of the problem, the tow-man said it sounded like the transmission gave out. I did research on transmissions for my car (2009 Chevy Impala). I discovered that people with the same car had experienced similar problems with their transmission. Mind you, I'm 19 years old, and I had absolutely no idea how to find a solution. I spent some time looking online for transmission repair shops in my area. For a few days, I called MULTIPLE shops asking them about what might be wrong and the costs to fix it. I got quotes all the way up to $6000.00, until I found Cuddy Brothers Transmission..... Mind you, my car did not drive; however, they were able to tow my car to their shop for "free."(I believe the towing is free with a related purchase, so ask Todd for details). As I called and explained the situation, he said it needed to be rebuilt. When he brought it in to diagnose, he confirmed everything he said over the phone. What caused my car to stop driving so suddenly, was that one of the three bands had snapped while driving. There were other corroded and worn pieces as well. They replaced all the broken pieces in the transmission. They also cleaned all the parts. Todd is very honest and knowledgeable about what he does. His entire team reflects that. I was astounded and impressed by how well they were able to simplify and explain to be the different parts of the transmission and how/why behind each part. Before I got any work done, I was given an estimate for the final price. It came out to be just under $2800($2747.68) to be exact. That included parts, labor, and sales tax. The interior of the lobby is old-fashioned, but their Bay Area looked well equipped with tools and everything. If you have any questions about warranty, your transmission, or general inquiry, don't hesitate to give them a call to speak to Todd. Todd was kind enough to bring me into the bay and give me a break down of everything in the transmission. He did an excellent job of educating me about it. The only concern I had , at first, was the duration of the rebuild. He said it was a 4-5 day job. However, they started on Tuesday, and they finished around 4:00pm on Friday. The mechanics were very friendly and open to questions. I knew nothing about transmissions before this. Now, I can have actually have a discussion about the parts and how it works. I'm giving five stars because my experience was INCREDIBLE. For all the research I did beforehand, I wish I had found this place first. But, as the saying goes "diamond in the rough", I had to dig through some roughness to find this diamond of Transmission Repair Shop. If you're unknowledgeable about what to do, don't worry. GO HERE and you'll be taken care of. I'm very fortunate to have found this place, and I happily share this information with you.

DAVE, the "manager" who wont take NO as an answer, is a snake oil salesman. Brought into service, with no avail. Failed diagnoses, resulting into a new trans. I decided to scrap the vehicle. For days I received heckeling calls and voicemails, again confirming the car was junk. DAVE reassured me that multiple repairs, as well as a $4000 trans would be provided, and the phone calls would stop. I advised DAVE, that wouldn't be necessary. Yet Dave called and harassed daily about making the sale. Eventually, I agreed on the sake of my family. ONLY if I signed his 3rd party transaction for a transmission. SINCE it wasn't my vehicle, my special needs brother took it in my place, since I was guaranteed such courtesy. FAST FORWARD, the program I applied for involved such an outrageous interest that it would cripple my family. $6500 for a $4000 transmission if not paid in 90 days.. I reached back out to DAVE, only to find disrespect, disgust, and blasphemy as if it were my fault to make such a commitment on a vehicle my brother almost had in his grasp. DO BETTER A2 TRANS.

Back again to find a new person at the front desk David, this young gentlemen actually walked…read moreoutside to my vehicle while I was waiting for my husband to arrive. He inquired as to what he could help me with, I indicated my husband was on his way up to speak with him, and I was just waiting for him. I left a previous review but I did not know how to update the last review. Previously, our vehicle was still under an extended warranty that we purchased for our Cadillac ATS. The owner of A1 had his brother who I believe his name was Sam and a different Front Desk person whose name I cannot remember unfortunately look at my extended warranty paperwork after the diagnose came back of needing a new transmission. In addition to that I had communication issues, ie check engine light would randomly come on and then go off as well as a couple other - indicator lights. The transmission was completely replaced, and because it was under the extended warranty, they were able to get it covered from some company. There was no fee for a deductible to us. The Cadillac ATS is no longer manufactured and was not being manufactured when we purchased it. One of the reasons was the slipping in the transmission. They had to bring in a specialist mechanic to figure out why the different sensors were going off for no reason. I no longer get the check engine light. Fast forward to approximately two weeks ago my husband mentioned that there was something leaking out of the rear of my vehicle on our garage floor. So we took it back up to A1 quality they indicated it was the rear differential that needed to be replaced. We were discussing the possibility of a rebuilt differential however, they do not make rebuilt differentials for our model Cadillac ATS. My husband and I debated whether or not it was worth putting that money into a vehicle based on the age of it. Due to the fact that it now has a brand new transmission and overall seems to be running well. We were going to move forward with the repair. On the way to the shop to drop it off randomly my heater was not working in it. When I dropped it off, I explained to Dave that we needed to find out what the issue was with the heater and how much that repair would be prior to moving forward with the rear differential replacement. After they connected it to their machines and had their head mechanic Mike look at it. Dave passed on the information that it is a communication issue. They believe they have it working now, so we moved forward with replacing the rear differential. Our goal is to get a few more years out of it, and then we will be trading it in on a newer model. These repairs were worthwhile in our opinion based on the fact that the mileage is only 70,000. Time will tell if we made the right decision. However, we found that Dave was communicating through the entire process and updating us before we had to contact him every time. This was a pleasant surprise. The rear differential was repaired in one day and we were able to pick it up the same day. I can always speak to our personal experience with Dave, the owner as well as his mechanics when I say that they have treated us really well! All businesses need to make money to survive and we understand this. It is really nice to have some old-fashioned customer service. There is a warranty on the transmission work that they did as well as a warranty on the rear differential being replaced. I also asked Dave if we sell the vehicle do those warranties go forward to the new owner and he indicated that they did‼ No one is happy when their vehicle breaks down and it is additional money that you did not budget for but it is nice when the experience seems to be direct and honest.

Then they gave him a run around about putting it back in. Also trans blew up a couple days after warranty and they wouldn't stand behind their work. My uncle had issue with the rear end they rebuilt in his dodge ram. My other buddy will they had to take the trans in and out 2-3 times before they could fix it right. My one buddy had his trans rebuilt there and it puked all the trans fluid out two weeks later. I know there a bunch of good reviews, but I'm telling you it's not the place it used to be. Many years ago it was a great place, the quality of work and the customer service has gone down hill. They charged my buddy $4000 for a trans that didn't even last a year and a half. That's garbage.
