Hi-Tech transmissions is a family owned business that truly cares about giving the customer the best price and repair possible. It is run by Tim (senior) and Tim (junior). Tim senior has been working on cars since he was a child, his dad also owned a transmission shop. Mechanic is a family title. Hi-Tech offers a one year warranty on all major repairs to give the customer peace of mind.
The review from Stephen S. is flat out wrong, a review from someone looking to earn a quick dollar through a lawsuit. The father of his girlfriend has sided with Tim and Hi-Tech in the situation he is incorrectly described, and the father is the one that paid for the repair on the vehicle. There is more to the story then he is letting on. Tim senior has NEVER worked as a call center manager, and can easily provide his past employers to prove he has been in the transmission business for a long time. If Tim can't fix your car, he lets you know. He does not pretend there is something he can fix to con money from you, he will flat out tell you it needs to be junked. Even if your car can be fixed, if Tim thinks it is not worth it because of how old the car is, a rotting frame he noticed while looking at it, or ANY other detail, he will let you know it can be fixed but more than likely is not worth the money to do it.
The difference between Tim's shop and a dealer....a dealer has more than 2 employees working to fix your vehicle. Tim and Tim from Hi-Tech do a WONDERFUL and HONEST job, but it is just them running the operation. They answer the phones, they road test your car, they clean the shop, they fix your car, they pick up parts, they order the parts, they deal with the payments. Of course a dealership with probably 30+ mechanics on staff can have a vehicle out quicker than a shop with 2 guys. BUT, the dealership is also a less personable experience, they tend to care less about the quality of their work.
Tim and Tim are not thieves, as Stephen so boldly claimed. They are honest about the work they do, and the work they can't do. Their turnaround time might be slower than other shops, but the work is quality. read more
