I was at the limit of what I could figure out, and hoped that they might be able to help me either fix it or advise me on whether I should get a new one. Tom called me back a few hours later, and patiently spent 20 minutes on the phone with me. Ultimately, he determined that I HAD actually fixed it myself, and that the issue I was identifying related to it not working when I plugged it back in after unplugging it while running was normal. He explained in detail, and provided information that will help me going forward. The conversation cost him his time (and money) but was free for me. I haven't had to work with anyone else in the area, but I can assure you that Tom will be the first person I call for any appliance issues going forward. The willingness to spend his time without suggesting for a fee bearing appointment demonstrates his care for his trade and his customers, even though I wasn't one yet. While I don't wish for any appliance repairs in the future, I know there will be a need. I only hope that Tom won't be retired by then.
