This was my pizza, just toamto sauce, oregano and some basil. With this amazin dough you don't need much more.

Well, my spouse had another wonderful early dinner experience with another very good friend we have introduced to this jewel of a vegan restaurant. And we got another fan for this place. He also fell in love with it. Service, as we are meanwhile used to it, so very friendly and accommodating. We had some nice young man helping us, but also some charming young woman whom I just had to compliment on her great haircut. :) She is so beautiful. This time, my spouse tried the deep-dish pizza, which he really liked; our friend had another pizza ( sorry, I can not recall which one it was), and I had made my special pizza with just tomato sauce, oregano, and some basil, since I am a carnivore and am mentally " allergic" to anything vegan. LOL, we just had a wonderful evening. Thank you, Donna Jean, until the next time.

Counting down the final days to closing the Sherman Oaks location. need to bring them back somewhere, maybe downtown LA or East Hollywood. Still exceptional vegan options, the best service around, and an exceptionally pragmatic music playlist.

    FANCY GARLIC FRIES

My boyfriend and I enjoyed a delightful Sunday date night here. Our server greeted us and gracefully ushered us in, even as she balanced pick up orders, and a number of other needs that pop up for her attention. We also got to know the other server, Cole, because we rode our motorcycle up and he's an avid rider himself, so that was a fun connection! The ambience is relaxed, and as we sat side-by-side in anticipation to our meal, it was really lovely noticing other individuals, couples and families all enjoying their meals. I loved the simple house plants mounted on the walls, naturally offering up color, oxygen and air filtration. But more importantly, Donna Jean's food is the star. As I write this review, I must be honest: I woke up thinking about my meal and how great my body feels after consuming such clean food. As you can see from my photos, we chose a really great spread, and my body felt light after eating, even as I ate to maximum capacity. What a beautiful experience, feeling this goodness from the inside out! FANCY FRIES: this appetizer batted 1000 right out of the gate. PERFECTLY smashed fingerling potatoes, PERFECTLY golden brown and crispy. These fries make all other fries in the universe envious. The tang of the accompanying sauce hit just the right complimentary note. STROZZAPRETI CON BROCCOLINI (GF): a comforting bowl of pasta and my favorite vegetable. Who could ask for more? CHICKEN FRIED MUSHROOMS DINNER: I have never experienced a more lush mashed potato, and I'm an absolute fiend for Oyster Mushrooms, so this is a massive winner. Sous Chef Josem mentioned the off-menu CALZONE, so we had to try this item; my boyfriend absolutely loved the perfectly seasoned filling. He is a bread guy, and almost inhaled the whole thing by himself! BLACKBERRY COBBLER: my bf and I super appreciated the natural sweetness and flavor of this cobbler. We've actively been on a lowered-sugar diet, mindful of our intake, for health reasons, and this was the best finish to our meal. DRINK: GINGERALE -- a mildly zesty compliment to wash down our food. Simple food is not simple to get right, consistently, night after night. It takes technique, attention to detail, and whole lotta teamwork. I fully appreciate all that Donna Jean has to offer and can't wait to return. I'm even thinking of pre-ordering one of their Holiday desserts to bring to my family's Thanksgiving dinner. I hope you enjoy this restaurant as much as I do!

We were excited to try a vegan italian place that had a nice menu and a beautiful ambiance. However, it fell short on our expectations. We tried the house bread, lasagna, pesto pasta and the cast iron cookie with ice cream. I can honestly say that the food was okay, but it wasn't exceptional. I liked the pesto pasta the best, lasagna was good but I think it needed a little more flavor to lift it up. Bread was fine with olive oil but the cast iron cookie with ice cream was a let down. It was overtly sweet for my taste and the cookie dough seemed a little raw. We feel lucky to live in LA, where vegan is available easily and we have had better italian food at other places. Service was great and it was a beautiful place. Parking was easily available on the street and I think its pretty fairly priced.

This place is a remarkable dining experience. While the thought of a vegan restaurant might scare people away, fear not. The food here is extraordinary. My wife and I shared that widow maker pizza and their incredible lasagna. I am a big fan of Italian food and this place hits a home run. Couple that with incredible service from the amazing Jessie, our fantastic server, and this is a must visit place.

A vegan friend asked me to meet her here at noon on a Sunday. We had a reservation but no wait when we walked in. Street parking was free that day and meters but didn't see their own parking lot Not sure if it's the green raisins that i haven't had before or the dressing. SOMETHING is sticking out and making the salad live up to its name of Really Good. I had half for lunch and the qualify didn't decline at dinner. Just enough dressing to still be delicious Kyla or Kayla was great and patient. Would return even as a non vegan lol

I decided to surprise my fiancé for his birthday last month at Donna Jean. I'm not vegan, but he is, so I thought it would be a great surprise. Neither of us had ever been here before, but hadn't heard great things. Especially about the San Diego location. We went on a Thursday night around dinner time. It was very easy to make a reservation online. When we got there, we were greeted almost immediately and could almost sit wherever we wanted because it was pretty slow. Which I didn't mind because it was definitely the kind of vibe we needed that night. The interior is super pretty (sorry I didn't get photos!). It's very simplistic. It's very unassuming from the outside. But when you get inside, it feels spacious and kind of like you're in a Gastropub that is fancy. I forget our servers name because of who I am as a person, but he was super nice. Said he had been there for a while and spoke very highly of the Brand. He gave us the whole backstory about Donna Jean and all the decor inside. It felt like we were part of the chef's world. I always appreciate that kind of touch at a restaurant. Now the food itself was absolutely incredible. And that's coming from a non-vegan. It took everything in me not to order a pizza because they looked incredible but I just had pizza so I went with something a little different. We started with the hot shrooms to share which were probably my favorite thing. The hot sauce they put on them was so yummy. I do wish we got more for how much they were, but they were still worth it. I don't have a photo of it, but my fiancé got the lasagna I think and he loved it. I got kind of something of my own concoction. I got a gluten-free Alfredo pasta, but made it kind of like the cast-iron mac & cheese and then I ended up putting that hot sauce from the shrooms on it which was incredible. I couldn't even finish it and when I heated it up at home later, it was still amazing. For dessert, I think he got the cheesecake which I don't see the menu anymore. It might've been a special they had at the time. But it was so nice because it was his birthday, It was on the house. And he got a candle as you can see! Overall, a great experience. Not someplace I'd go all the time. But they also have a decent beer and wine selection. So I would definitely go back to grab a drink or have a nice, simple meal. Both the vegan and non-vegan were happy!

This has been our favorite meal in LA so far. The vegan food was perfection. It was comforting and the flavors were complex. We are considering eating all of our meals either here or at other places that they recommend. I hope that they bring one to portland someday. The service was also perfectly done. Jessica was knowledgeable and opinionated about the food and could share interesting details about the preparation and flavors. Jessica also helped us navigate the menu in ways that we had a well rounded meal getting to try a variety of flavors from the menu. The restaurant was lovely with real plants on the walls and beautiful, lighting and tables that stay nice and quiet.

I want to rate this 5 stars mainly for one specific dish.. which was the 1 cast iron shells & cheese. Soo creamy and cooked to perfection! Actually perfect for one person. I enjoyed it so much, I wish I had ordered another one for takeout as a second dinner. We had also ordered fancy garlic fries but it was not what I had expected, and it wasn't very flavorful.. but my cousin enjoyed her lasagna! Service was good, ambiance was homey especially with all the indoor plants. Overall, I'd come back again for that shells and cheese pasta haha.

    # 1 Crush Pizza - NOT well done !

First & Last time unfortunately! I asked for well done on my # 1 Crush pizza and it was not as shown in the picture below. Also the pizza arrived ice cold . The salad and dressing were decent but overshadowed by the pizza.

I love pizza and Donna Jean does it right. Crispy and airy crust, fresh marinara with basil and vegan mozzarella cheese. The #1 CRUSH pizza was the perfect portion for me and I had some left for the following day. I ordered the meal in and it arrived very quickly. Have always heard great things about this restaurant and I am looking forward to trying other dishes very soon! Highly recommend the pizza.

This is what I love about DineLA it introduces you to incredible places! The dinner her was such a great deal for $35. You get an app, main course and dessert! The waiter did note that the app and dessert was a bit smaller than off regular menus but all this food we got was more than enough and had leftovers! I got the salad days, the widow pizza and since I was with 2 other friends we ordered all 3 desserts and shared. The New Mexico chocolate chili pie was the best followed by the deep dish cookie. While I'm not a vegan or vegetarian, I appreciate and love exploring various food options and this was a winner. We already made reservations for another day to come for their brunch!

    Yummy vegan pizza!

A vegan gem in Sherman Oaks! Not only is the food delicious but the service was just as exceptional! Highly recommend the Chicken fried mushroom dinner and pizza! Wow! They also have a cool rewards program, plus events like an upcoming comedy night! The inside is spacious and modern with quite a large bar to sit at! They have a good selection of wine and beer and Wednesday nights bottles of wine are %50 off!

So I researched and found there was a place in Sherman Oaks called The Pizza Wagon of Brooklyn, only two locations, here and in Brooklyn and people said it was the real deal. Tonight we tried it, and you know what, it might just be even better. Santino's sauce had a slight sweetness to it that we liked that this doesn't but the sauce is good, and the crust is even more flavorful and they are a bit more liberal with the olive oil usage, which true East Coasters love while I am told that most health conscious Southern Californians do not. The inside is on the small side and they have a few tables outside. I ordered the Classic Pepperoni pizza and it was okay. It was on the colder side by the time I got it and was expecting more. They also offer gluten-free crust and have salads and pastas.

The place is located on Riverside Dr., and I found parking on the street. I don't think it gets too busy to the point where you can't park on the street, and I'm not sure if they have a parking lot in the back, but you should be fine on Riverside Dr. I was greeted by a man up front who asked for my order and checked to see if it was ready. As he went to check on my order, I got a glimpse of the restaurant, and straight to the left is a bar area with a tv and the place has that old school pizza parlor vibe with dark tones that really set the mood. I'll definitely have to come back and eat there to get the full experience. When the guy came back, I paid and went back to my car, where you'll find most people who come here. Once my order was received, I rushed back home to get these bad boys cut up for the fights! I usually go with a few 12" pies, including the option of spinach margaritas for the vegetarians, Gino's Supreme, and the Meaty Legend. Sometimes we'll get the hot wings, French fries, and mozzarella sticks for the kids because I noticed they don't really like this style of deep dish pizza. It's sauce-heavy with a lot of mozzarella cheese, and the crust is a bit different from what they are used to. However, we love it, and I must admit, I'm a huge meat person, but I think the spinach margarita may be the tastiest one out of the bunch! Anyway, these are a bit expensive, but they're the real deal. Overall, if you're looking for some Chicago-style deep-dish pizza, Gino's will get you there. I haven't had a bad experience yet, and it's our go-to for our fight night parties. OOOOC 4.5 out of 5 Afros

That being said, the gentleman demeanor at the front counter was passive aggressive. When we arrived he asked us for our reservation, understandable. He checked if they could accommodate my three adult and one child party, returned and stated we could only sit outside. The indoor seating area was 60% empty during our entire visit.
