We had an excellent experience with the Done Rite folks. We have a 1 acre plus yard, with 3 massive silver maples. We asked for an initial assessment and estimate, after review we asked to add some additional work. We approved the updated proposal. We scheduled the work - the team showed up that AM and worked hard all day. They also checked in with us to make sure the work was being done the way we requested (we found a few items as the work progressed). They did a good clean up after they were done. They came out to remove a tree per our property manager's request. Not only did they break our fence, not tell us that they broke the fence and it was unable to be closed (which at first we didn't notice and caused our dog to get out), then they left all of the leaves from the tree they removed covering the yard and told our property manager that they were unable to finish the work because we had a "confrontation" with them. We did not speak to them at all as everything was handled through property managers as we rent. read more

A yr ago, I began interviewing tree companies to replace 20 dying trees planted incorrectly by a landscape company. Upon initial visit, they "talked the talk" and claimed to plant caged and burlap trees correctly, unlike almost all of the other companies I spoke to. However, once the planting crew was on site with the trees, they began planting INCORRECTLY just like every other lazy company in the Treasure Valley.(Do an internet search for the proper way to plant a tree and you'll see NONE of them do it this way) After the first tree got planted their incorrect way, I insisted the rest be done as I had originally agreed to with the owner. They did so with an attitude. Within a month of planting, the first tree was dead and they are refusing to warranty the tree. I really wanted to be able to give this company a good review but I cannot. Over the last yr, I have dealt with poor communication, dropped balls, and a general lack of follow-through. Great crew showed up to remove several stumps on my property. Fast efficient and very careful. Excellent service and value.

These guys are incredibly fast and efficient. Unlike some other tree services I've observed, they have all of the equipment and manpower to get the job done quickly. They gave us a free quote, kept their appointment, and did the work for a price that I was happy to pay. We had a large, unhealthy elm tree close to the house with branches extending far over the roof. They brought in a lift and a crane, took out the elm, trimmed a few branches from other trees that were giving us problems, and removed two stumps. Our patio, driveway and yard were cleaner afterward than they had been before the work started. The crew seemed to enjoy their work, and our kids had a great time watching them. Great at what they do there is no questioning that. Worked for them for 1 day and can't even get paid for it and I worked very hard and got told I did an amazing job and yet I can't get paid for the amazing job I did!! Tried for 2 weeks but couldn't get anywhere with it, I understand it is only for a days work but I couldn't continue to ride my bicycle 14 miles to work and do the very hard manual labor the job calls for then ride my bike 14 miles home.. read more

The Best in the Boise Valley! Our HOA has been using Done-Rite for numerous years, and again this year, they did an excellent job! Each and every man on their crews were professional, experienced, courteous and very well trained, along with giving us a fair price. They cleaned up after each section in our neighborhood as it was a large project with numerous tall pine trees, and when the project was completed, we are very pleased, as always. They know trees like no other! You can trust whatever Gary or Cory say as they are straight forward guys, who know their business. Do not use this company. I am heartbroken at the damage done by Done Rite Tree Company. The first visit, they didn't do as promised in the quote and trimmed the wrong tree. Then, when they returned, they butchered the tree that was supposed to be trimmed, cutting off major branches that provided shade and privacy in our backyard. They broke a trellis that had a 12-year old clematis growing on it. There is no way to repair the damage that they did. read more

The estimator came out to estimate the removal and a price was agreed on. I had specifically requested to perform the work after a certain date, which was noted on the estimate. When checking I found out they had moved the date up to when I would not be home. I called the estimator to find out why, but instead was told I was rude and shouldn't be calling their personal cell phone. Why is this number on the estimate then? He told me I need to call the office and talk with them, I hung up and attempted to call the office when the estimator called me back and told me I was a problem and he was taking me off of the schedule and to find someone else. I wanted to attempt to resolve this, but I could see he had no interest because they were busy and can apparently afford to drop customers. read more

Great service from start to finish! From the initial site visit to give us a bid to the day they came out to trim our large Maple a few month later during the winter! Fast, professional, friendly and they cleaned up everything very nice! Not only did they do a great job, they understand the science of trees and what to do and not to do to ensure the job is done correctly and to maintain the health of the tree. I also had them come out in the spring to trim our large Pine Tree. We will be using them again when we need more tree service and care. The price was also very fair and reasonable. Wow. Just wow. When your expectations are not only met, but shattered by a new standard of excellence, you have Done*Rite Tree Service! I knew my large, healthy, yet young trees (about 10 years old) needed trimming and shaping. I researched how to go about finding a tree service to do this properly, as well as safely and without heavy expense. The first two were my expectations, and the third was my hope. Yes, all three were met...very well I will say. They also cleared away all the limbs they had trimmed AND raked up the whole front yard from already fallen autumn leaves AND hauled it away! Oh. Beware get everything on paper and a complete understanding of what is going to be done. Verify who is going to be the lead person on the job and they understand the scope of the job. This is a one shot deal as the owner takes the position that correcting any mistakes or misunderstandings does not make money and no sense to return if a profit can not be realized. In his mind a property owner has no say that its his way and that customer service is deducting for the non completed work and life goes on. That discourtesy by an employee is ok if they are a long term employee. This type of attitude will catch up with an owner and when the business is good I guess you don't need customer service. Make sure you think about using this company if you have a problem your on your own. read more

I had to call Done-Rite back to get them to come and do a lot of work that simply did not get done. It did not get done right, nor at all. After I said I needed the rest of the work done before I would pay the bill, I finally got them to come back. The person that gave me the bid was not on the job either time, however three of his flunky tree-trimmers were on the job. One admitted that they could not get any of their 3 chain saws to work so they broke the branches off instead. When I called to have them come back and repair the branches that were broke off instead of cut, the rude woman on the phone said they had no record of ever trimming my tree. Stay away from this company as the guy who gives the bid seems like a mediocre arborist, but the people actually coming to do the work do not seem to have common sense or even a minimal education. read more

The person that came out to discuss the scope of work was not on site when the work was performed so what we had discussed was not understood by the foreman. The foreman was rude and argued with me if a tree was a maple or an ash (I planted the trees 15 years ago). When I asked for additional limbs to be removed from a tree (as discussed in the bid), he was exasperated and the truck and trailer with chipper raced around the property. A sprinkler head was broken and left laying in the dirt. When I called to discuss, it was pointed out that the bid sheet says they are not responsible for sprinkler damage (it does) - so be careful and ready to repair at your cost any carelessness on their part. I absolutely agree with the other review. We didn't get the full trim we were quoted, and once they left our house we were as good as dead to them. We've tried to get a call back from the owner but he won't speak to us at all or come back out to the house. The poor gal who answers the phone gets caught in the middle and has to explain to cusomers why the owner has disappeared on them. I would not use them again. read more

We had part of a large Willow fall into our neighbor's pasture during a wind storm. We called several tree services and Done Rite was the only one who called us back. They came out the next day and removed the fallen tree from the neighbor's pasture. They did a remarkable clean up job. Two weeks later we had them come back and remove two large trees along with removing the stumps. They came when they said they would, they were very skilled, friendly, courteous and entertaining! Once again the cleanup was remarkable and stumps are gone. They have all the tools of the trade. They make quite a statement with all their large equipment! read more

Called and asked for a bid to remove a tree and some stumps. they said they would come by and I asked for a 30 minute heads up so I could leave work and meet them. when I called the day they said they would come by they said they would check and call me back. when I got a call back they asked if they were working at my house today or just bidding. when I said just a bid and gave the address they told me that they went by earlier and saw a pile of branches and they don't clean up branches. I said that was fine but what about tree and stump removal. she told me they wont remove stumps unless they cut the whole tree. I asked about the big cherry tree and she said they don't want the work. read more

I would NEVER use these people. I was in bed with a brain injury and we asked them to move their noisy wood chipper a half-block away as they were doing the whole neighborhood. Instead of doing that they went into offense and cursed and swore and threatened my husband to the point of having to call the police. Three guys who were horrible and scary. The woman on the office phone never returned the dozen messages I left. DON'T HIRE DONE RIGHT TREE - they are SCARY and they are holding saws while they curse at you. read more

I hired Done Rite tree service to take out a tree and to trim my beautiful river birch tree. They literally took off half of my river birch tree which was never discussed with me. They never tried to call me when they were at the property. I met with Gary Butcher, the owner, and he showed me what they would do. Corey is the one that decided on his own behalf to "butcher" my tree. I would never recommend this company!! read more
