I took my 2000 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet to get serviced by Don Wise Autowerks and was very satisfied with the entire experience. Don is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. I trust his Porsche expertise and followed his recommendations. A week later, when I had a quick question, he let me bring my car in for a quick inspection for free. I plan on continuing to bring my car into Don Wise Autowerks for all future services. Thanks, Don! read more

Took the car in for a quick check on the brake fluid. Don and Amir did a quick check on the brake fluid using the meter they had and said it's still good, no need to do a brake fluid flush yet. Honest and nice guys. Will be returning there in the future. read more

Just started to bring my 997.1 to Don. Been taking to other supposed Porsche specialty shops. Well, they were more like generic German specialized place or that they retired/closed down. Don is super knowledgeable, courteous to a fault, and timely. He looked at, diagnosed my rough start issue, thorough inspection, meticulous maintenance service, and timely completion as promised. His shop and parking lot in a joy to look at (all the beautiful vehicles.) Will definitely be back as a regular customer. read more

If you have a Porsche and don't feel strangely compelled to have everything done at the official dealership...this is THE place for you. From the first time I chatted on the phone with Don, I was already impressed with his knowledge. For my particular issue, Don patiently listened to what I was dealing with. He offered me a same day appointment to bring my 911 in. Upon arrival, I was graciously greeted by Don. He quickly introduced me to his technician Amir who proceeded to immediately assist me with my what I needed done on my car. From start to finish, Amir efficiently and expertly took care of my 911. Overall, I could not be more pleased with the team at Don Wise Autowerks. From Don to Amir, I am totally wowed by how professional and knowledgeable they are. On top of this, I can genuinely say that they are all-around nice guys. In this day and age, this is priceless. I will definitely be back for future service at Don Wise Autowerks! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! read more

Don is such an amazing man, you won't find another mechanic who is honest fair & has great team of mechanics on his team. I highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a man that they can trust to work on their beloved Porsche. read more

It is a great feeling to know that your Porsche is being worked on by someone who is completely knowledgeable about Porsches. Take your Porsche to Don Wise Autowerks with confidence. read more

Don is my go-to for classic Porsche services. He knows what he's doing and does it well. His prices are fair and his work is proper. Highly recommend! read more

Don is great. Super knowledgeable about porches and a very nice guy. Reasonable prices and timely service.

Brought my 911 here for an oil change and general checkup a couple weeks ago. Don is a super nice guy, I enjoyed chatting with him and the service was great. They replaced my frunk struts too. Prices were fair overall. I will definitely be bringing my car back for future service. Highly recommend! read more

Don and his team are amazing!! I purchased a 1984 911 Carrera 3.2, Targa from an auction site, previous owner living in Texas. I soon learned a hard lesson on getting a car ready for California smog tests, and how difficult it is to source a catalytic converter for older cars/Porsches. After visiting a couple other shops before finding Don I was getting quotes for $9k in parts before labor. Don helped me figure out options that were significantly more reasonable. The thing I really appreciate and love about this shop, they were thorough in diagnosing other areas of opportunity, but not at all in a rush to push those fixes forward. Don got me out the door with the most critical issues solved so that I can enjoy and drive my car, and we've got a plan to tackle the other stuff down the line. Fantastic shop, great owner, awesome cars outside, the mechanics toured me through their shop and some of their builds, just really a pleasant experience all around which is extremely rare in this industry. Thanks Don and team! read more

Don is a great and honest man who really knows Porsche's. His prices are fair and he will take the time to explain any work that needs to be done. Done is a very friendly guy and will take the time to talk to you about Porsche's. I had a PPI done here due to the proximity of where I purchased my vehicle and I'm glad I did. His shop found things that I was able to resolve with the seller prior to closing the deal. His prices on PPI might not be the lowest but you are paying for his expertise and experience. read more

Porsche enthusiast and purist! Excellently train mechanics that really seem to care about your car. Don Wise is a pleasure to deal with and quality as good if not better than the dealership and his prices are a lot better than the dealer. Highly recommend him. read more

Don Wise Autowerks - 2014 Porsche Cayman - Auto Repair Near Me - Campbell, California

Don is humble guy and overall just a great person. He is such a pleasure to deal with and his team are all helpful. His knowledge of classic Porsche's is just amazing, too. I have been going there for about 3 years now and just finally getting around to writing this review. I bought an older Porsche Turbo (1987 widow maker) and it developed a few problems after I bought it. Other shops were quoting huge prices and wanted to rebuild the engine, etc. Don and his team pragmatically went through the car and found a clogged fuel system and a few other things. He also did a tune up and after words the car ran like a Turbo should. He saved me thousands of dollars. A few years later it still runs fantastic. You are a fool if you take your classic Porsche anywhere else. I dread the day when he retires, but for now I'm just enjoying his service. read more

He's great. Yearly tuneup was very thorough and cost was reasonable. Completed in one day.

Don Wise Autowerks is great. I was referred to them via NextDoor where I posted a request for a good Porsche shop for a used Cayenne that I just bought. I must have had 6-7 great responses all suggesting Don's shop within the first day of my post. Had them check out my car yesterday and Ali, the service tech I dealt with was great !! Went over the entire car, since it was new to me, and learned about all the upcoming services I need to perform......and overall gave me great feedback. I'll definitely be back, and would highly recommend this shop read more

Integrity is the first word that comes to mind when I hear the name Don Wise Autowerks. The shop came highly recommended, though I always have my doubts when trying out a new shop. I had my car PPI'd before purchase and decided take my car there after purchase to address a few issues. First, if you're thinking about purchasing a second hand Porsche, take it here first for the pre-purchase inspection. It will be worth it. The entire team knows there stuff- they are thorough and will shoot you straight. They are courteous, fastidious, and will care for your car like it was their own. In my case I always ask a lot of questions and they are happy to oblige. Their rates are also fair. Anyhow, highly recommend for the educated owner or for somebody who just wants to keep their baby in tip top, without having to question if the shop they're taking it to is on the up read more

98 Boxster was leaking coolant, thought it was the overflow, but turns out it was a small leak at the base of the coolant expansion tank. Don's crew was very thorough locating the problem. The oil filler tube had a small leak as well, Don saved me the cost of labor to take everything apart again to replace it. Customer service is top notch at Don Wise Autowerks and I enjoyed chatting about my Boxster and what to expect considering miles are piling up. I'm a DIY guy but all major maintenance I leave it to the pros. I recommend scheduling appointments way in advance, they are a busy shop. read more

Great place to take your car. Honest, reasonable rate, great communication. Will definitely come back.

It's a great place they know Porsche doesn't waste your time and money going somewhere else! Made my rounds with other shops, this is the only shop that gets results! thanks, Don read more

A cool little Porsche shop located off Highway 880/17 in campbell near camden ave. Don runs the shop well with the help of Rolph and Worth. Sorry to hear that Worth will be leaving soon for Nebraska :( we will miss you!!!! Lots of experience combined with a great attitude makes this shop one of my favs to deal with. read more

Great Local Porsche expert. Don is the guy to go to with older vintage cars. He did a PPI for me $350 but shop around because BRracing does it for 150. Spoke directly with Don and he have great customer service. If you have 996 and newer gen 911's BRracing maybe the place for you however. read more

For the last twenty years I have brought all three of my Porsche's (83' 944, 89' 944 S2, & 2000 Boxster) to Don for service. He and his crew have been nothing less than fantastic! Dealers and competitors don't even come close, by any measure.Integrity, honesty, and quality define the level of service and support one can always expect. Don and his team are friendly, knowledgeable, highly trained and experienced seasoned professionals who are always accessible to answer any of your questions, to give advice, or just share a good chat with. Never in all my years have I met a finer crew. The list of dedicated customers (including myself) is quite extensive and they have been an continued favorite of the Loma Prieta Porsche club for as long as I can remember. Hands down Don's Autowerks is the BEST Independent Porsche mechanic in the Bay Area, if not Northern California. But don't just take my word for it, go down and visit them and see for yourself. I think you'll be impressed. As to the bad reviews posted on here I find these to be highly suspicious and suspect its a competitor posing as a customer. Something not uncommon on Yelp. read more

Don has been working on my '87 Carrera coupe for nearly two years. He's honest, knowledgable, and a great guy! I have been very satisfied with the quality of work that his shop does. My only issues are that his calendar stays pretty full so it can take a while to get an appointment. And the repairs sometimes take longer than they should. Both of which are important to me since the car is my daily driver. read more

Don Wise did a pre-purchase inspection on my 1996 993 Carrera 4 Cabriolet back in 2003, and has been looking after it ever since, first over at his previous place, and then at his own Autowerks. I take my car in once or twice a year and just tell Don to do what's necessary to keep it in fine shape. I've always trusted him to do what's required without padding the bill with unnecessary work, and he's always repaid that trust. Nobody should expect (or want!) top-notch Porsche service to be 'cheap', but Don is great value. A super guy... Don't ever retire, Don! read more

If you need a Porsche repaired, and want it done right, take it to Don Wise's Autowerks. They repaired all of the damage done to my car by the idiots at a Porsche Dealership, and tuned up the car so that it runs better than it has in years. Don can get most parts, even for older Porsches, and can come up with creative solutions when parts aren't available. His staff is knowledgeable and his shop is huge, and he has all of the necessary tools and equipment to handle virtually any repair job. In addition, he has the contacts in the industry to get specialized work done in a timely fashion, and when he is finished, your car will be up and running . I found out about him through word of mouth from another Porsche owner, and I am passing his name on to everyone who needs a good Porsche shop in the South Bay. Respectfully; Paul R. Ward read more

Got a Porsche? Live in the Bay Area? If you said Yes to even 1 of those questions you need to come see Don @ Don Wise Autowerks. Don is one of those no none sense old guard Porsche experts you'd never expect or experience going to your local European Auto Shop. Before buying my Porsche, I went to Don to pick his brain & expertise on the model I was considering. Don had no idea who I was when I walked in, but he gave me an honest 20 minutes of his time on the spot. We talked Porsche's, cars & he gave me sound advice on what to look for on the car I had been looking at from Carlsen Porsche. After leaving, I was so reassured about my decision from talking to Don, I purchased my first Porsche. This was 3 years ago & I have kept in touch with Don since my car was CPO & I did not need scheduled service. My 1st experience for any sort of service was my 1st out of warranty oil change. He was fast, easy to communicate with & scheduled me with quick turn around on the car for Monterey Car Week. My most recent service included a full inspection & 40K service & front brakes. He was fair, honest, reasonable & I felt comfortable having his team work on my car. Since my original purchase I have stopped by a few times to just look at some of the Porsche cars Don works on for his clients (older classic models have been a draw for me). Don has always been friendly, talked to me & answered my questions with his vast knowledge of the inner workings of each Porsche model/Year. Stopping by his shop is like visiting your Uncle that knows a lot about cars. He never rushes you, and he will give you real world honest advice & pricing; if you live in the bay area & own a Porsche of any model, you need to stop by and pay Don a visit before you go anywhere else. Thanks Don for taking such great care of my Porsche & always making time to answer questions when I pop In. read more

If you own a Porsche this is the place to get it serviced. Fair honest and knowledgeable.

I recently brought my Porsche 996 to this shop and boy was that a mistake. Not only were all of the employees completely rude, they were equally incompetent. I brought my car in for a simple service and they were unable to complete the job as requested. When I initially brought the car in the mechanic told me it would be a simple fix and that I would be able to pick up my car in a few days. While I was able to pick up the car in a few days, I also had to bring the car back soon after. The original problem was not fixed correctly and I had to take it to another shop. The other shop figured out the problem in about 5 minutes. They fixed it that day and at a much cheaper price. For someone who calls themselves the "veteran Porsche Guru " these people need to go back to school. Someone with "30 years" of experience I would have expected better, seems more like 30 minutes from my experience. I would avoid this shop if possible. read more

I have had my 1987 Carrera 3.2 serviced here a few times and the work is conscientious and the prices fair. Replacing the alternator wasn't exactly cheap, but overall the price was fair and they did a great job. They are a supporter of the local PCA chapter (Loma Prieta Region) and frequently advertise in the Post, which is how I found them. Don also gave me a good recommendation for a good local upholstery shop (Jeda Generations). read more

I scoured all the Porsche forums for service recommendations to get my spark plugs and brake fluid replaced. After narrowing the list down to five shops and calling them to discuss, I made the decision to go with Don Wise - I am glad I did. They are a small shop (Don plus 3 mechanics) and they really give you that personal touch. Their knowledge and experience of Porsches matches their passion for these amazing cars. Ali was the mechanic who worked on my car and he made the time to look at and discuss anything that was on my mind (at no charge) - he looked at an annoying window air leak, very intermittent difficulty shifting into first gear, etc. He also showed me what potential issues to be aware of in the future. I never felt like I was asking a stupid question (which I did many times). read more

Very competent and knowledgeable with great service. Helped diagnose my Porsche 944 and provided in-depth details. Highly recommended.

I have a 2009 Porsche Cayenne, and the driveshaft needed to be replaced. Don had the replacement part at his shop in 1 day, and with parts and labor was less than half of what I was quoted by the local Porsche dealer. The work was done promptly and properly. These guys are pro's. From now on, I will only take my car to Don's shop. read more

Took my 955 here for its 80k service after getting quotes at a couple other shops. Not only is Don competitive on pricing, he's also a very knowledgable and thorough mechanic. He recommended one additional item that was not on the books for the 80k service -- a front diff fluid change -- to make sure my 955 runs well for a long time to come. I came back some months later without an appointment, as I had a Check Engine light that was intermittent. Don didn't mind the short notice and pulled the codes right away. Turns out it was a minor issue that didn't need immediate repair. Don said he'd look at it the next time I was in for service. Glad to have met Don! I know my car is in good hands here. read more

Don is a Porsche owners dream. He is honest and I completely trust him. If he says it needs to be done it does. If it doesn't need to be done he tell you. Super nice person with a great team and some day when he retires it will be a huge loss to Porsche owners in this area. I have taken my 2000 Carrera to him a half dozen times and always the same excellent service. Plus his knowledge of Porsche automobiles is hard to match. Porsche dealerships in the area can replace parts, Don and his team are real mechanics which can fix, not just replace. read more

BEWARE.... If you like to get your face ripped off then this is the place for you. If you leave your car and don't sign for an estimate be prepared for a nice BIG fat unexpected bill when you come back to pick it up. Overlapping charges are of the norm as well as damage to your car is almost guarenteed. read more

I had an appointment for an oil change on 9/26/17. I am disabled and have to wait. When I got there Don told me he did not have time to do the work and for me to come back. I think this is outrageous and I will never come back. read more

Don knows porsches. Took my 2003 Boxster S to him when clutch went out recently. He took me into his shop and showed me another Boxster that was having the clutch replaced - and not only detailed the procedure but explained other things he recommended that we look at - based upon the age of the car. He charged a fair price (I looked around) and completed the work precisely on schedule and budget. Previously I'd only gone to brracing and there is a world of difference with Don. My boxster has a new home for service. read more

Been here a few times with my 986 Boxster. Don and his team have always done quality work for me. I've had the clutch replaced, fixed an issue when installed my AOS and missed part of the bottom bellow, and replaced a door lock that wasn't working properly. When talking with you can tell that working on these cars is a passion of his. I've already recommended Don Wise Autowerks to other people I know. All of them have had a good experience. I trust Don and his team to do a great job. read more

We've been taking a 30 year old Porsche 924 to various people who did poor, expensive, and repetitive work on it, and finally got a referral from Parts Heaven, the Porsche wrecking yard in Hayward, to Don's Auto Werks. We should have gone to him in the first place. He got the car running like new. I don't know what the story is with the other guy, but anyone who buys a $30,000 car is not going to be satisfied with anything less than perfection. read more

I have been using Don's Autowerks for 7 years. Both our Boxster and 911 have been well maintained and looked after by his very expert staff. Having worked on cars myself in the past I know the difficulty of diagnosing problems especially from clients descriptions. He is always upfront with the estimate, what he knows and what he does not know going into a repair issue, he is always close to the estimate and the repairs are always lasting. I have also found he goes out of his way to save me money with out compromising quality. Because my 911 is older there is always a list of items to look for in the future. He keeps an eye on what needs to be done now and what will need attention in the near future so I can plan accordingly. Something I have yet to find in any other Porsche repair shop in the valley. Having had a two Porsche family for over 25 years I do know many of the shops including dealers. Wolfgang we miss you! I can only assume the bad experience written up here by the Porsche owner was created by the car owner him /her self and the attitude they brought to the shop. read more
