Yep, that's why there are no seagulls grabbing your food by the pools & no pigeons pooping on everything - thank the falconer and his non-lethal birds of prey program. When the shopping center opened in 1981, there was a lot of hope; but retail trends shifted over time. Now, the center focuses on serving as a community hub, hosting plenty of special events for locals. There are many nice restaurants and even a new bowling alley. There's a skate rink. Other experiences are set to open soon. It's a nice place to hang out.

It's still an open air shopping center but they're putting a big emphasis on community gathering. They do a lot of events like a Spring Carnival and Egg Hunt. They also upgraded the ice rink under the LA Kings brand. There's also lots of new restaurants. I found a new favorite via Pho Red Bo and I spotted a yummy dessert spot via Fika Fika Creamery. Though lots of change, it was nice to see Regal Promenade still here. This movie theatre was my go- to movie theatre a few years back and I have found memories of this spacious (not crowded) theatre. Overall, I was happy to visit the new Promenade PV. It's nice to see this outdoor area gaining more popularity and it's so refreshing to see the new restaurants and events they have here.

They are the flagship chain of TJX Companies; strangely, they operate as sister stores with Marshalls, which I do frequent, & both chains generally stock similar items (men's, women's, & children's apparel, shoes, & accessories; bath & beauty products; jewelry & other accessories; housewares, kitchen & home products) of those found at major department store except theirs is generally discounted. I don't believe the Rolling Hills Estates location is a higher volume store; those store may have a high-end designer department called The Runway. And it's also unexpected to find a discount department store in the affluent hills. During this school year (2023 - 2024), my son's Cantonese class has doubled the students so I've been hanging out with other parents shootin' the breeze, takin' a coffee/tea break, walking (to get some exercise in), & window shopping (sometimes actually buying stuff). The store opens pretty early, at 9:30 AM, for a Saturday morning so we usually have it pretty much to ourselves when we're browsing here. Their inventory is comparable to Marshalls, & I've gotten some great deals. What's impressive about this location is their luxury inventory... some unexpected finds include: Mackage (I knew it was a thing but haven't heard of them & needed to look them up; they're a Canadian prestigious luxury outwear clothing brand), Fendi, TOTEME (Stockholm-based label exploring the appeal of the modern uniform with meticulous craftsmanship, methodic repetition, & distinct design cues). They even carry one of my fav brands: Life is Good; an American apparel & accessories lifestyle brand known for its optimistic t-shirts that often feature Jake, a smiling stick figure. I love their pjs... so comfy & cozy. The store is organized & well-stocked, probably because we're here first thing in the morning. Can't imagine what it would be like mid-day since there's only a skeleton crew in the mornings, I'm sure they'll increase the staff during the busier shopping hours. My friend found a couple pairs of designed shades in the locked display case, & it took awhile to find someone, then another staff member to open the case. While she was mulling over which to purchase, both were great deals, I/she felt rushed into making a decision. And for security purposes (understandably), she couldn't hold onto them & he brought her glasses to the cashier even though the registers are the next row over. The staff is friendly & welcoming on our Saturday mornings, & any purchases are processed quickly. As far as the lines they a few people in line but you didn't have to wait so long they had all the cashiers open so it had a great flow. Over all experience here was great, the shopping area has lots of parking so that's not a problem to find a spot. Can't wait to be back!

I usually shop at the other, larger outlet store, but decided to come check this one out when it finally opened. They sell shoes, of course, but they also sell socks, hats and key chains darned with their logo, records, and portable record players. The store is predominantly rows and rows of men, women, and children's shoes. They display each different shoe design on top, with boxes of shoes below on the shelves. Unless the display is up against the wall, then there are boxes of shoes above the display as well. My favorite shoes is the Skechers brand. They have very comfortable soles, so I look forward to wearing them when I'm planning to walk more than ten thousand steps. And because this is the outlet store, shoes are usually buy one get one at 50% off. Staff are friendly. On the weekends, they have free small bags of popcorn. The only problem I had was that it's help yourself, so it's not being monitored. They have their own parking lot, so there's plenty of free parking. There are two exits, however, only one opens up to Crenshaw. The other exit opens up to a neighborhood side street.

As this is a new store, it is very clean, and easy to get around. I will say, however, the design of the store, and where they have their various sections, is not very well thought out. Whereas when you go to most Skechers stores, the sections are very clearly delineated. This is not the case at this location, however. This being said, you can pretty much find everything you are looking for, in a pretty easy manner, because the space is so open. This is a standard Skechers store. Thus, it is not like their warehouse location over off of 190th and Western. There, you can find a whole lot more of the everything that Skechers offers. And, at some drastically reduce prices for some of their items. This location basically offers Skechers basics. This is not a bad thing, this is just the way it is. So, if you're looking for what Skechers has to offer, and what can be expected, you will find it here. One of the things that I dislike about this location, in comparison to say the Skechers outlet, which has been my favorite Skechers location for decades, is that their free popcorn machine is not always manned by a human. In fact, when I was just in there today, basically all you saw was a popcorn machine, and nobody handling it, and just a bunch of old popcorn on the floor around it and in the machine itself. It's just not a good look. At the other Skechers that offer popcorn, the popcorn machine is always manned by a human. Another thing I don't like about this Skechers location, and this is the same as when this building housed a drugstore for decades, is that there is only one way in and one way out of the store. Meaning, yes, you can come in off of Crenshaw, and yes, you can come in off of PCH, but you cannot turn left to go back up on the hill on Crenshaw, and you're not supposed to turn left onto PCH if you wanna go West. Thus, getting into the store is not such a problem, but leaving it, if you want to go a different direction than is easily accessible, can become a problem. Overall, if you want with Skechers has to offer, you can certainly find it here. If you need some of their shoes, some of their clothes, a backpack, socks, whatever, this is the Skechers location where you will find it.

I didn't even check-in because I didn't want anyone to know. However, upon thinking it over, I don't give a rat's ass. I earned all my wrinkles from a lifetime of hard partying, dammit, & it was great. And I ain't done yet. Anyway, Chico's was the first store I passed when leaving the parking structure. Yesterday, Monday, it was packed with ladies. So I went in to see what was going on. A sale. Big sale. 30% off the stuff already reduced for end-of-season. I was immediately greeted by Daisy, to whom I confessed I'd never before stepped into any Chico's. She explained their method of sizes: 0, 1, 1.5, 2, etc. 1.5 is equivalent to 10-12, I think, can't remember. 1 is 8-10 (?). Turns out I'm a size 1, according to Chico's. I've never been a size one in my life, so that made my day. I found a pair of shorts *cough*size ONE*cough* hugely on sale, that fit perfectly. I tried on a couple other things in my own personalized dressing room. Yeah, they wrote "Joan" on a little chalkboard on my dressing room door. Wow. So now I was a size 1 & I had my own fitting room. Life is good. Service was GREAT. Nobody was pushy but definitely attentive. Friendly & professional. My super-cheap shorts were carefully wrapped in tissue & placed in a Chico's handle-bag adorned with a red ribbon. Did I mention I got into a conversation about art with a couple of the sales associates? Dang it, I had fun. Life is fun when you're a size ONE, bitches.

While she was shopping, the Asian salesclerk "manager" was on her personal phone, talking to someone who wasn't a customer. Both salesclerks were ignoring my sister, who also happens to be Asian. When my sister finally wanted to order something to be sent to her home because they didn't have her size in the store, the Mediterranean salesclerk said she wasn't sure whether they shipped to Hawaii and that she would have to ask her manager. Only then did the Asian "manager" answer, saying that Hawaii is part of the 50 states. The Asian manager was rude, arrogant, and snobby, unlike the store clerk we met at their Seal Beach store, who was polite, friendly, and helpful. That sales clerk and store will get a five-star review from me, but this location gets a one-star review. UPPER MANAGEMENT OR STORE OWNERS, TAKE NOTE OF MY COMMENTS on this, since I will no longer shop at this location! From reading other Yelpers' complaints, this isn't the first time a customer has complained about rude and prejudiced behavior.
