My favorite BBQ joint (excluding brisket) they don't have brisket but do have Turley Rib Tips! And yes they fall off the bone! I love that they don't use pork in the greens or beans. They have sa smoked salmon with a light teriyaki glaze that is out of this world! Tender fall off the bone chicken wings, dirty fries and fabulous creamy macNcheese. Husband a wife owned and staffed. They have always been friendly everytime I've ever been. The ONLY drawback is they are only open Thursday Friday and Saturday. I saw the sign and tried them out for lunch. The lady behind the counter was super nice, asked me if I wanted to try a sample of anything. I said yes, I was torn between several things and wanted to try a wing and a turkey tip. I'd never had a turkey tip before, I didn't even know what part of a turkey that would be, so I looked it up (a breast cut up). I Stopped by here to get some rib tips to go. Rib tips are simply shortened sections of the spare rib bones chopped/cut into small bite sized portions. I believe one of the the owners took my order and she was very personable and gave me a sample of their turkey ribs and a wing. The turkey rib and wing was smoky, flavorful and juicy. The rib tips were cooked to perfection: tender, moist, well-seasoned and smokey. The sauce was made from scratch and complimented the ribs without overpowering them. Checked out this place for lunch today! Everything is Al a cart so it can get pricey if you order multiple items. The staff was friendly, the food came out quickly and everything seems fresh. The food, I ordered turkey tips, wings, Mac and cheese and green beans. The turkey tips and wings were literally falling off the bone, Mac and cheese is cheesy, creamy, probably the best I've had at a restaurant. I'm tempted to keep this place to myself because it's just that good but I can't keep this gem of a restaurant a secret. We wanted bbq and decided to try something new. I was feeling optimistic after reading the rave reviews. My husband and I decided to try the smoked wings, the turkey tips and the Mac and cheese. He picked our order up and mentioned how sweet the owners were so service is a 10/10. Let's get to the food. Y'all I don't know which I enjoyed more. I'm usually a sauce on the side girl but the tips came sauced and let me tell you!!! FIRE literally fall off the bone seasoned perfectly and the sauce is delicious. I didn't really have high hopes for the Mac but they have mastered that dish. It was creamy and cheesy literally had cheese pulls. The smoked wings were also amazing fall off the bone too. For around $15 this food is a steallllll. The pulled pork sandwich was around $10 and I was expecting a hamburger size bun. Imagine my surprise when I opened the container to find this huge pulled pork sandwich! This sandwich could easily be shared or be used for 2 meals. The pulled pork was very flavorful. My only gripe is that I wish there was more sauce because there was so much meat. The Mac and cheese was also so delicious!! The food is great, but the owners are even better! The building is just walk in, place order then you get a handheld device that lets you know when your order is ready. The process is great and the line moves quickly. Now for the food: I purchased a large rib tip with mixed sauce. This was my very first visit and let me assure you, I am extremely picky when it comes to food. I grew up eating some seriously delicious home cooking and expect nothing less than what I am accustomed to. My verdict on the rib tips is A++++ I could not believe how delicious the rib tips were!!! Oh my Goodness I think I just had the BEST Smoked Wings and the BEST Mac & Cheese I e EVER had!!! And believe me, that's saying a lot!! Don't Eat The Bone BBQ is located on the Eastside at 10th & Post Road. I had a tear in my eye as this is the same place where Papa Roux and Mama Roux use to be. I got the 6 Smoked Wings with their Hot sauce on the side, I love hot sauce and there's was good, but I really didn't use it, the meat was just falling of the bone!!! I liked them more from just the food truck. I visited restaurant and was sadly disappointed. I felt my food tasted old and not fresh. Lacking taste for my turkey order. It tasted like old meat was mixed with newer cooked meat. Being a former caterer I do have high standards. read more

First time ever trying turkey tips and wow - so good and tender! My husband got the rib tips and they were great, but then he tried my turkey tips and was wishing he would've gotten that haha. We both got the "mixed" bbq sauce which I think is their sweet & spicy combined - loved it. The Mac and cheese was super cheesy and made well, and my husband liked his fries. WOW crunch crunch, Opps, I just ate the bone! This BBQ is so GOOD!!!! What's the name of this place again? LOL Never in my life have I had Turkey Tips, and my goodness they're just excellent! Yes, the sauce is good hot, sweet, I get it mixed, love it. I alternative between turkey tips and rip tips, and look forward to trying the wings soon too! Wish they were open all week, but it gives me something to look forward to eating later in the week. The lady that takes your order is such kind hearted person you can tell the first time you place an order with her, such a sweet heart, just great customer service, love the smells and seeing the excited customers in and out quick, they don't mess around and your food is ready for you in very little time. When I tell you everything was delicious, it was delicious! They even allowed us to sample the turkey tips, wings, and 5 cheese mac and cheese before we purchased anything. The restaurant was clean, the owners were smiling and very friendly! It's hard to find restaurants nowadays with the total package, they definitely have all the makings of an amazing restaurant! I'm originally from Chicago born and raised so I'm naturally a foodie having grown up with so much variety of cuisine, and while I've enjoyed my relocation for the last 11 years I hadn't found a bbq place here yet that made me NOT feel like I needed to go back home to get the quality I wanted....until NOW! I just so happen to pass this place every Thursday and finally decided to stop in and I do not regret it! The sauce options were mild and hot, but I could barely distinguish the difference between the two. Hot is not spicy. The macaroni and cheese could've used some salt and pepper, but the baked beans were spot-on. The beans were on the sweet side, which is just how I like them. The platter is also served with soft, buttery, rolls with garlic.

There was basically zero fat left on it, which also meant very little flavor. For the first time ever, the sauce wasn't optional... it was rescue equipment. The ribs were okay, but even they weren't what they used to be. They used to have that perfect fall-off-the-bone texture, and now they were just kind of there. Not terrible, just disappointing compared to how good this place once was. I'm not trying to trash Trax because I know how great they can be. That's actually what makes this frustrating. It feels like the brisket went from "Texas smokehouse masterpiece" to "beef jerky with a college degree."

We were a group of eight and the cashier was friendly and took out orders quickly, we even got our food in a timely manner. I ordered the Texas Rueben and it was good but there was barely any Texas aioli sauce and the Cole slaw wasn't the best. The hush puppies were overcooked and the potato salad was the better flavored item I had.

Great friendly staff. Had us try some brisket and corned beef. Will be back for the corned beef but I had a mission to accomplish. I got the brisket dinner, which is a sandwich with 2 sides. I went Mac n cheese and baked beans. It was all fantastic. The brisket is perfect. My buddy got the brisket potato and it must weigh 5 pounds. Really really good. Can't really eat inside so grab some and take to a park! Recommend grabbing a brisket potato, half pound of corned beef, and some sides to split. Has been added to rotation.

You can order the meat only or get a dinner that includes 2 sides and your choice of bread (white, wheat, or cornbread). They provide very generous portion sizes. The rib tips are the best that I have had in Indy thus far. They are tender and the seasoning they use is delicious. You could eat them without any sauce. However, the sauce is what takes it over the top for me. They offer sweet, medium, hot, or they will mix the sauces for you. The hot has a pretty good kick as a warning if you are sensitive to spice. I recently tried the Bar B Q bun, which is essentially a pulled pork sandwich. The pork is finely shredded and the sauce is poured on top of the pork. It's almost a fork and knife sandwich, as the bottom bun gets soaked in the sauce. Their sides have definitely reduced in quality over the years. I recently tried the mac and cheese and greens. As a note, they only have greens Friday - Sunday and they often times run out on Sunday if you do not get there early. The mac and cheese was dry and had little flavor. The greens, which used to be my favorite in the city, reminded me of cooked spinach and weren't seasoned. The service remains great. With the amount of people waiting while I was there, they were friendly and efficient. I wanted to order chess pie and there were not any readily available behind the counter. They told me they had some coming out of the oven in the kitchen if I was willing to wait and they brought it over once done. It is carry-out only, so be prepared to take it elsewhere to eat. You can call ahead to place your order as well.
