Quesabirria Tacos
Lucia L.

Let's TACO bout one of the most popular birria spots in LA! Not gonna lie, most Mexican food in West LA tends to be extremely sanitized and Americanized, unless you're getting it off a street stall. I was so lucky that my apartment complex hired Don Pollon to cater from their food truck, and I was able to try out their quesabirria tacos. All the tacos were soaked in a tasty (and not oily!) consome, and contained a generous, even layer of beef and cheese. My quesabirria combo also came with rice and beans (which were a bit bland), and cilantro, onions and a spicy orange salsa. Service was extremely efficient and quick, and even with long lines, I received my order within 3 minutes. Unfortunately, they had a limited menu so I couldn't try their famous bone marrow tacos, but if you're lucky enough to be near them in East LA, I definitely recommend making a pit stop!

Large Tlacoyo de asada. Taco is massive but so good

Bruh I am calling Cap on majority of these 1 Stars. A bad experience is a bad experience, I get that. But the food? The food here has always been fire. Yes its hyped, but its legit. Lets start with the must haves if you never been. The Bone Marrow Taco. You can get the plate, but unless its for sharing its overkill. Bone Marrow Taco is massive by itself, generous portion of the bone marrow on top of your choice of meat with a nopal(grilled cactius) salsa and acocado omgeee. Dont sleep on the ribs. These huge ribs are delicious. They have several sauces to pick from, sauces are put on after they are grilled. Also had a Tlacoyo, that was delicious too. Its like a thicker tortilla masa, with a bunch of toppings including nopal and avocado. I feel like this foos truck can have like 4 different food trucks with all the delicious items they sell. Pro-Tip: Get the ribs, but I suggest sharing so you dont miss out and sampe a few. Owner said their peanut sauce rubs are some of the most requested when they cater. Its nutty and spicy, kind of like spring rolls sauce but with a kick. I tried the mango habanero and it was fire. Its pricey, but the food is worth it. I usually come on weekdays to avoid long lines. Parking sucks, its basically look for closest street prking available.

It's really good

Must try if your in East L.A The tacos and the ribs are boom. Even it's a food truck, There's tables if you want to eat there.

Carne asada mulita

Given all the hype on IG my friend and I decided to give it a try. We went earlier at 11 am given the reviews of long lines, maybe that was the trick, but we really didn't have to wait. The lady taking orders was helpful when I asked for recommendations. The menu on the side of the truck is a bit confusing the way it's laid out as is pricing. All I know is my carne asada taco with marrow + mulita + coke was $20. Also I should add I had limited meat options, perhaps it because we went early. Things tried: 1. Carne asada taco with marrow - i wanted to love this taco, but it was just ok. It was a tad hard to taste the marrow with everything on the taco. 2. Carne asada mulita - I preferred this to the taco. Easier to eat and the cheesiness made it good. 3. Bbq rib- I mooched off my friend and tried a rib. I wasn't expecting much, so was surprised when they were super juicy and tasty. All in all I'm glad I tried it, but maybe not my favorite taco place.

Finally made it to this place. I cannot even describe how good the food is. Very nice lady taking your orders. She even explained what you'll get. Sometimes the wild wild Los Angeles does have its perks. This is one of them

3 Ribs with mango habenaro sauce - $17 (comes with 2 sides)

Taco truck cooking ribs and bone marrow? I'm there! We came around 4:30pm for a quick in between meal to try out some ribs and bone marrow taco. The truck is located on a busy street and not much parking, but it's worth the hassle. There are a few trucks on the street, but it's hard to miss a big grill, just follow your nose! There was a short line to order, but it took awhile for our food to come. There is a small table against the wall as well as a ledge on the taco truck for people to eat. The food grilling smelled sooooo good. Ribs come in 2, 3, or 5 pieces and we decided to get 3 pieces. It is $17 and it comes with 2 sides, we opted for rice and macaroni salad. We also ordered a bone marrow taco with carne asada and a carne asada taco. There are radishes, cucumbers, and salsa on the truck that you get. We waited awhile for our food, but it's likely because we were waiting for the bone marrow and ribs to be done. I think the ribs took longer because the bone marrow was no longer a meaty fatty goodness. The bone marrow taco is already taken out of the bone for you, which is nice, but next time, I think I'll order the bone marrow itself, so I can scoop it out myself and it'll likely keep it hot longer too. The bone marrow made the taco a little fattier/juicy, but that's about it. The carne asada taco was a little dry. Now the star is the RIBS! OMG it was so delicious! It was soft on the rib side, but very tough on the edges. I believe they cut the rib and continue grilling it, so each rib has a nice crunchy outside that is SO GOOD! The mango habenaro sauce complemented the ribs and is finger licking good. The ribs have a nice char and smokiness. Can't wait to come back for some more ribs!

Bone marrow, asada taco

Drove out here from Ontario, believing the hype. Was it worth it? No. My husband tried an asada taco with bone marrow and was deeply disappointed; just made it greasy. It was definitely not a $10 taco. We got a half a rack of ribs since they were out of chicken. The sides of rice smelt like patas sudadas . The ribs were dry and flavorless (asked for sauce on the side, because what better way to judge the flavor). Sincerely, we are over these tik tok/IG hyped food spots y'all want some delicious food? Head into the IE for JM el sinoalense chicken & ribs, because that's the true standard. We will not be back, nor do we recommend this spot.

Came here because of a post I saw on an IG food page and I was disappointed. NOT WORTH the money (and time in my case) for the food. If you live in the area you can check it out, maybe you'll have a different experience. I came later in the day (about 630/7p) and there were only a handful of people (maybe 3-5) ahead of me, some of which had already ordered, but it still took about 30min to get my food. I ordered 5 tacos (2 soft birria, 1 costillas, 1 asada, & 1 asada with bone marrow) and my total came out to just under $22. For about $4/taco I was expecting some of the best I've had. The asada was over cooked and dry. Sure I like a bit of burnt pieces but this was mostly dry & flavorless. The bone marrow on one of them was good but as mentioned the rest of the meat wasn't the best. The birria was also in the drier side and not great as well. I'd have to say the best one (and it wasn't all that great) was the costillas. Wouldn't go back and not highly recommended IMO.

This place has a strong social media presence and I had been wanting to go try it for a long time. Finally went last Saturday. There was a long line. They have 2 cashiers taking orders, lots of people in the truck cooking, and another guy at the grill. I would say my wait time in line and to get order was about 30 min altogether. Not bad. (There is a michelada stand next door, so I think that keeps all of the customers here happy). I wanted to try the tlacoyos, buy they were sold out. So I ordered 2 pastor and 2 asada tacos. I only tried the red salsa. The food was good. The only issue, IMO the carne asada was very tough.

We had to look for street parking and walk about a block over to the food truck. It was a 1.5 hour wait at 2:12PM on a Saturday. It was our first time so we had some questions about the menu before ordering. We ordered two cacahuate ribs, two bone marrow, and one costila taco. I thought we ordered the whole bone marrow but we just got bone marrow added to our tacos. We asked the cashier about it. He showed us the receipt and told us we had ordered the wrong thing even though we asked questions before ordering. The ribs weren't fall off the bone but the spicy peanut flavor was good. The tacos were pretty heavy. Personally, we don't think it was worth the 1.5 hour wait.

Flavorful and tender tendon. The star of the show is the beef and bone marrow tacos. Good people running the truck. Home made top quality tortillas.

I really love finding spots that stand out . This is a great little gem in East LA . The make ribs , chicken and tacos all cooked with wood so every bite is flavorful. We bought chicken ribs and tacos of course wanted to try a bit of everything. As soon as we got home our teenage son went for the chicken needless to say we should of bought two whole chickens instead of one. The meat was not dry at all it was so flavorful and juicy with a spicy exterior . The ribs are again soft and tender very different flavors they offer BBQ, peanut flavor sauce and adobo . Finally the tacos meat is also cooked on the wood pit and so good. My only advice is if you want a full rack of ribs you will have to wait since they sellout fast.

I must have entered the wrong address into Google maps and wound up at La Diosa. My wife was driving so by the time I noticed the discrepancy in distance from my original choice, it wasn't worth changing course. It all worked out. LD is a cool restaurant located in a tiny shopping center with a smallish parking lot. It's got sort of a dia de los muertos theme which I dug. My wife is a big mole fan so it was a good place for her. My relatives ordered the enchiladas with green mole and the chile relleno with a chocolate based mole with just a hint of spice. My wife also ordered the chile relleno while I decided to have the chicken flautas. My flautas were nice and crispy and HUGE. The chicken was a bit dry but still tasty. I thought my meal was a 5 but the others in my party weren't quite as excited, Good but not raving about theirs. What we did agree on was the plantains in tequila sauce. The sauce is a thick, creamy sauce with just enough sweetness to pair amazingly with the fruit. Hands down 5 star. The service was top notch. A thorough explanation of their mole options and chips offered with samples of these choices. Our waiter kindly answered any questions we may have had since we were first time patrons to this establishment. The waitstaff was excellent about checking on us to ensure everything was copacetic. Undeniable 5 stars for service. I wavered in deciding on my rating because the rest of my group wasn't as hyped about the food as I was but dagnabbit, this is my review so I'm sticking with my 5 stars. I hope you try for yourself and see who you agree with. Now about the original place I intended to go to...where was...hmmm? Another excuse to make another trek to visit my fam or was this my devious plan all along???

My favorite thing about these burritos is how "home-made" they are, the salsas and meats are fresh and taste like they came out of an abuelitas kitchen. Unfortunately, what I received was an insult to both the dish and the price point. I ordered Mole Manchamanteles to go--a dish that is not commonly found in restaurants and costs $25. What I received was laughable: three tiny pieces of chicken, dry and overcooked, drowning in a mole that was completely flat, bland, and devoid of depth or flavor. If you're going to charge premium prices, the food needs to at least meet a basic standard of quality. This did not. I rarely leave negative reviews because I understand how they can impact a business. However, this experience was so egregious that I felt compelled to say something. This place is robbing customers--not just with its inflated prices, but with shockingly poor execution and portion sizes that wouldn't satisfy a child. I did call the restaurant to express my disappointment. They offered a refund, but this was a carry-out order and I was already long gone. At that point, the damage was done. I hope management sees this review and takes it seriously, because what I experienced should not be happening to anyone.
