The don Pancho chilaquiles were hands down the best I've ever had--perfectly balanced, rich, and absolutely delicious. And the Don Pancho chile verde wet burrito? So flavorful, tender, and absolutely delicious. On top of the incredible food, the service was outstanding. Let's start this review with food for this taco review - I ordered Carnitas street taco and Carne Asada and my son had the chicken. My sister had the El Pastor and her husband had the Barbacoa. Well, I did not try the Barbacoa. The Carnita taco was flavorful, but a little dry from my liking same thing with the Carne Asada. The people there were friendly, and the place was relatively clean. Just moved to this side of Temecula valley. Was in the mood for a cheesy enchilada. This local place just down the street from us was something we had never tried before so we gave it a try. Hubby had his usual nachos with shredded beef, I had an à la carte chicken enchilada with green verde sauce, a Carnitas tostada, the son had an Al pastor burrito and a Carne Asada taco. Everything was tasty and our server was especially friendly. Our son said this was one of the best Al pastor burritos he's had since we moved here over four years ago. My Carnitas tostada was super yummy. The chicken enchilada didn't seem to have as much sauce and cheese as I would've liked so next time I'll try the cheese enchilada. Stopped in for some good Mexican food and had to try their margaritas, so good and not from a mix. My daughter ordered a Horchata which was also fresh and amazing. The chips and salsa are always tasty and fresh along with the salsa bar to try different flavors. My favorite is always the house salsa served at every table and the green avocado salsa. We ordered the chili Colorado and asada burritos smothered in their delicious red sauce. Both burritos are absolutely amazing! And the service is friendly and fast. After hiking a couple of hours up the hill at a nearby hiking area we were hungry and thirsty for some Mexican food and cold beers. We stopped in at Don Pancho's and happy we did. Service was great, we didn't have to wait too long for our food and we were served our drinks prior to getting our plates like it should be and there weren't too many people there so the ambiance was good, people were friendly and the place was nearby and conveniently located with available parking spots. Updated review. Still enjoy their food although it has changed over the years. The tacos aren't as big and stuffed. And it just seems like the food has changed to cater more to the area. We don't go much anymore. We prefer MSR but if they're closed we may consider Don Panchos. read more

EVERYTIME my boyfriend orders a REGULAR California burrito and ends up getting the "don ponchos" cali burrito. I have driven by this place hundreds of times and finally decided to give it a try. It was a Friday evening and they were not busy. The restaurant was like an oversized taco shop with table service. I am giving them 4 stars because the food was decent and our server was really nice. I usually order a Carne Asada Burrito the first time eat at any Mexican restaurant but I ordered a surf and turf burrito because their CAB has beans and rice and neither belongs on a CAB. My wife ordered a smothered Chile Verde burrito. My Burrito was ok. The meat had some flavor but it was dry and the burrito was overtaken by the taste of Chipotle sauce. It was also a bit small for the price. In fact the tortilla was folded over because it was too big for what was inside. My wife's burrito was good but the taste of excess cumin made it a bit unsavory. The chips and salsa were good. They did not have any happy hour specials which was a disappointment. They do seem to have a good Taco Tuesday special so I will check it out but otherwise I will not go back. read more

Lost of parking spaces, small restaurant in a plaza center, Got sited right away, they were not so busy on a Monday afternoon. My boyfriend order the Menudo and I order the Tostada de Ceviche. I ate some of the menudo and it was really good. The hominy was pretty big and to me it tasted a little different. But the broth and everything else was really good. My tostada was nice and loaded i finished off the remaining shrimp with some chips. The service was great the guy was super outgoing and would come by to see how everything was going. And brought us some sides we needed. They do have a sala bar area with limes carrots and the salsas. read more

Really nice local vibe with good food. I had a cup of soup which was quite filling as a side dish. The tostada with rice was very flavorful-I got it with shredded chicken once I asked for it. It's not like five star status where you see this place becoming a huge restaurant but I would say out of the place that I've had so far this one is in the top three. I've been a customer since 2019 never a bad experience food and service always friendly and amazing. Went yesterday both my Cousin and I were sick immediately after we got home. Poor margarita ppur when we asked Devin our server as he TOLD US I'M THE OWNERS SON! We just asked if we could get a tiny discount since the drinks weren't up to par and her taco was short on meat as we're ny taquitos. He raised his voice making 4 other tables turn to listen he said I dont give free drinks. We NEVER asked for one or 2 we asked for a tiny discount and I asked another bartender to make our drinks it was fabulous. Owner Hector walked in Devin immediately went to talk poorly about us as we could hear. So unprofessional and I've sent so many people here bragging about good, drinks, service and the owner always friendly. First disappointment and now we are both still suffering with stomach issues. Will NEVER allow him to serve us again. Hector should have come to hear our end not just glare at ny Cousin like it was all us. Who brags I'm the owners son like he is so above anyone else. The chicken and steak fajitas were just alright but would probably order something different next time. The tortillas were great though! If I go again, I'll try something different. Probably won't come back. I've been coming here for a long time. Last time I went, I was disappointed. And again today, I had a very disappointing experience. My wife ordered, they took the wrong order. I was next to my wife when she ordered. I know she asked for the correct item. You guys heard wrong, no big deal. When I pointed out that you charged me for the wrong item and gave me that item, which is not what I ordered, the owners son (it wasn't a new employee, or somebody who doesn't care about the business) told me she ordered wrong and then charged me for what she originally ordered. Wait, so I still paid for something that I didn't order and you charged me for.... To boot, this same item was left off of my order the last time and I didn't even ask for it for free this time, I was willing to pay for it. Bottom line. I didn't appreciate being called a liar, then being charged for something two visits in a row that I either didn't want, or I paid for and didn't get. Poor service for regular customers and I doubt I'll be back. read more
