    Fish burrito bowl

Highlight: A super affordable large portioned Tex- Mex Americanized restaurant tucked in shopping mall that serves hot and fresh food in paper plates (tacos, burritos, quesadilla, bowls, etc). Prices: burritos are 6.75$ for ground meat and if you do fish or some other fancier cuts, it's 8.75$. Our picks show how MASSIVE the portions are. Cheap good eats- nothing fancy but definitely filling and yummy. How it works: you can choose your burrito/nacho/bowl etc. choose your rice (white or brown) and then your meat (They have everything- fish, chicken, pork, carnitas, asada). Then there's like 20 toppings you can choose from (lettuce, ranch, tomatoes, cilantro, peppers, pico gallo, cheese, corn, vinegrette, etc)- all included in the price. We ordered: fish burrito bowl and the chicken burrito bowl- see pics. Fish was fried fish stick- like, not your Baja fish but still a delicious combo. Chicken was shredded chicken breast- not the chunks. Overall: not the fanciest food and not super authentic but definitely delicious, value worthy, and fast. I highly recommend coming here if you want all 3. I think the cilantro could be chopping smaller to mix better with the rice- but if you like toppings cut larger, then that this place's style. Clean store front with digital screens selling the eats, nice seating area- not a hole in the wall place. There's a 3 tier salsa bar if you get chips.

    Chicken bowl with a empanada

First time coming for lunch, I got a chicken bowl and wanted to try the empanadas. Got a chicken and cheese one. Omg empanadas are amazing!!!! I loved the sauce it came with! I was so full, I didn't even finish my chicken bowl! Chicken bowl was also amazing! Delicious and tasty! Staff was very nice! Can't wait to come back! Want to try the tacos and beef empanadas next

Pasty mushy guacamole that was $7.50 for a large w/chips...

Spent $50 worth of food and it was all inedible. The sautéed vegetables were raw and the burrito was "off". The guacamole is just mush and the quality of the food is just careless. I never leave bad reviews but this was so bad. I couldn't even finish my food and lost my appetite half way through. Completely flavorless and not authentic at all. I've given this place so many chances and each time I'm disappointed. It's a shame and I'm sorry to the owner but I wish I could get a refund. Do not eat here unless you want to waste your money and time. I don't have a pic of the burrito because it's in the trash.

Wow. This place is amazing. Super fresh ingredients, quick service, and friendly people! I got a chicken burrito and it was huge. Stuffed with chicken, veggies and beans. Also got chips and guac. The chips were yummy and I grabbed a side of mild salsa and next time I'll make sure to get more since it was very tasty. Next time I will order online but even with 4 people in line before me to order, I got my order in about 10 minutes. Can't wait to eat here again.

They consistently cannot fill a correct takeout order. Phone calls and emails are ignored and then they block you. Real mature.

How is the tofu prepared here?

Hi Teresa! We get our Tofu locally “fresh tofu company”. Usually comes seasoned with our special Cajun spiced, you can always get it without it. Hope to see you soon!

Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. We started with the guacamole appetizer, which was quite small for the price. Our main dishes were fine but nothing special. Food is not particularly authentic apart from the salsa. We also requested some hot sauce and were surprised to find there was an extra charge for it once the bill came, it was homemade but we would have been happy with a bottle of Tapatio. Overall, we probably won't be back. There are definitely better options for quality Mexican food in the Valley, at a more reasonable price point.

I've been back several times and always wanted to be much happier after the experience, but unfortunately cannot report such an experience after my latest visit. Firstly, the place is very attractive, so felicitaciones to the person responsible for the design. Unfortunately, as the case with many restaurants, more attention is put into the decor than the food. I'll make this quick... My chicken enchiladas were very mediocre, without much flavor, and delivered lukewarm to the table. The chips are quite good. The salsa is mediocre. The hot green salsa is not good at all. The presentation on the plate was really poor, with the items haphazardly placed with no adornment with cilantro or anything to make the dish look appealing. The chicken was not all white meat and not very flavorful... And not much of it. Service was just ok... Nothing more than the minimal expected. The prices are about in line with other Mexican restaurants, but this one nickels and dimes you--actually dollars--for any common small things you might ask for, such as a couple of skinny lime wedges. I can't speak to the overall bar-drink quality, but there's a nice cocktail menu with some creative offerings. I tasted the tequila sunrise margarita and thought it was a bit imbalanced and light on the sour element. It's too bad. The place is really cozy and the paintings are fantastic. They're framed with ornate, painted borders and are set against a light-colored wall, giving the restaurant a warm, inviting atmosphere. The Day of the Dead theme adds a cultural touch, celebrating Mexican heritage which adds to the experience. Unfortunately, the kitchen needs to up its game to match the quality of the art. Not planning on returning soon... although I wish them well. I will drive significantly farther to go to Plaza Azteca, but we'll try them again in another 6 months or so in hopes of improvement. Casa Catrina is less than a mile from my house, so I greatly want them to succeed, but they need to make changes in their food quality.

Simple, fresh, and full of flavor. On the side, I went with their esquites which was a yellow corn, slathered with a tangy crema, sprinkled with cotija cheese, chili powder, and a squeeze of lime. Sweet with just the right amount of spice -- the perfect complement to the tacos. Service: This spot runs on a fast-casual setup: you place your order at the counter and pick it up at the other end when it's ready. There's no traditional table service here -- they don't bus tables or check in during your meal -- but the process is quick, easy, and keeps things moving. Ambiance: The space has a casual, modern taqueria feel with a mix of rustic wood walls, warm lighting, and simple seating. Long bench seating lines one side with small tables, giving it a cozy but no-frills vibe. Since you order at the counter, you can watch the kitchen crew preparing fresh food as you wait -- which adds to the energy and authenticity of the place. It's more of a quick-bite atmosphere than a sit-and-linger spot, but it's clean, bright, and comfortable enough whether you're grabbing lunch solo or stopping in with a friend. Value: For $20.98, I got three tacos and a side of street corn. It's not the cheapest taco spot in town, but the handmade tortillas, quality steak, and generous portions help justify the price. Recommend: If you're craving authentic, no-frills tacos with bold flavors and fresh tortillas, this is the spot. Perfect for a quick lunch, a casual dinner, or even a takeout taco fix. This is my go-to place for tacos in the Lehigh Valley.
