West Bromwich is being improved further and New Square is under construction which should be completed in 2013. It will feature a Primark, JD Sports, Bank and even an eight screen cinema. So this shopping centre will have its competition in trying to attract shoppers. If you do decide to come here, you will need to pay for parking. That's of course if you drive. I have always enjoyed my shopping experience here although there have been times where I have been forced to come here with my parents. I do intend to come back here and there are so many bargains you can pick up from the many shops here at Astle Park.

As a retail park in West Bromwich it has big brand…read morestores like Nike, Mark & Spencers, Gap, Next and Pavers alongside Mecca Bingo, a luggage shop, a bookies and of course the obligatory Subway. The important thing to note about these big brand stores is that they are all cheap outlet stores so everything is for less and they all have super clearance sections for the already reduced goods but at even crazier cheaper prices. Problem is you may not always find the right size or a jacket and trousers that match. It is however all worth it for the occasions when you can get a good M&S suite for £29 or expensive dri-fit Nike bottoms for £10. You have to be prepared to rummage and mooch, especially in Next for less. The Gap outlet isn't that cheap until they have clearances but it's always worth a check in if you are over there anyway. The car park is super cheap and alternatively if you are a public transporter coming from Brum then hop on the tram and get off at Lodge Road, from there it is just a straight walk down from the tram stop.

We could have stayed there for hours. The cafe is just that, a standard snack serving cafe, nothing outstanding but the service was exceptional. But the greatest benefit is the massive selection of women's and men's clothes, from the ordinary to top quality. Something for everyone. It might have been an 80mile round journey, but worth it and we will go again before Christmas to get a few more bargains.

It's so big when you enter that you can't even see the far walls beyond the vast sea of clothing stands in front of you, all arranged in a grid that forces you to move pac-man style through the aisles whilst dodging slow-moving pensioners on all sides. I think it's my uber-cool little sister's idea of hell. Not exactly my idea of a good time, and I'm not about to suggest it should be yours! But they do have a huge range of middle-aged-to-elderly mens and womenswear, much of it from branded labels at outlet prices (think Austin Reed, Moss Bros, Jaeger, Hobbs etc), plus things like bed linen, books, perfumes and stationery. Whilst I may have turned 30, I haven't grannyfied my wardrobe just yet - I'm actually suggesting you earn some good grandkid brownie points by bringing your nan here to browse and bargain-hunt. Yes it'll be two hours of your life you won't get back but it's well organised, saves them the stresses of the big malls, and the pensioners love it (there's always plenty of them enjoying the cafe at the back!). As well as doing something nice out of the goodness of your heart, you might just strike it lucky as I did and find one of the handful of things in the store that someone under 40 might actually wear (and my little sis approved of!). In my case, a gorge Adrianna Papell work dress reduced from its £139 RRP to a £30 outlet bargain, that I'm proudly wearing to the office to combat the back-to-work blues today. Boom :)

Debenhams are still a large store with 178 stores in The UK, Ireland and Denmark and were founded back in 1778. This branch of Debenhams is located in the Bullring mall, with enterences from both street and mall level, it is a decent sized store too. The lifts here were pretty slow, and they didn't show much signal of it working, and although it was, I didn't know it was in use, so I nearly just walked away, which was disappointing It is quite a large store with a Brow Bar, Salon and Cafe and quite a few floors as well. I didn't have any close encounters with staff to comment on, they seemed okay, just average. The signposts for what is on which floor in the store could be better advertised, this store is okay but it is nothing more than that, the building its-self isn't as nice as other department stores mentioned, and in a way it has a less high-end feel, which makes it a little less special in a way, especially to tourists and potential shoppers.

Last month I came in as I had a 5% off voucher on multiple purchases so I bought underwear on one floor, then on another day some clothes for a wedding. When I got home I inspected the receipt and worked out though it said 5% off, nothing was actually deducted! I took one dress back as I didn't wear it for a wedding and mentioned there was nothing deducted! She said it's not on all concessions ... Something the other two cashiers didn't say when scanning the clothes! I've given them four stars as I do go to the beauty department to buy skin and hair care. I do ask for samples and majority will give them .., more so with a purchase! I like to walk away with something extra!! Lol They have a beauty points card which is useful and worth collecting points. You get money off when you earn enough.

Whether your after a fancy dress, posh frock, evening gown, or something special for a wedding, this place has it all. The glitter off the sequins will want you reaching for the sunglasses. The designs are both elegant, exquisite, formal and fun & bright. A huge selection of colours make this outlet feel like your on a rainbow. My mother loves this store, and the staff are so friendly. They also have a clearance selection if your after a bargain. The prices can be high end especially with the bridal attire, but that doesn't mean a bargain can't be had. After trying on several prom dresses my daughter finally found the one she 'loved' and was so happy. Whilst paying for the dress I asked the assistant if no one else from her school had bought the same dress and we were assured no one had. However, the assistant did NOT check the order book and low and behold another girl from my daughters school had bought the same dress two days prior! Initially this lead to a barrage of abuse from the other girl and physical threats then we had a call from the shop the next morning saying they were unable to sell us the dress. The one thing that they pride themselves on, they failed miserably! If you do want to buy a prom dress from here, double/triple check no one else has already brought it! I have also noted that Sonique have turned off the reviews function on a lot of review sites, wonder why?!
