Good Food, Good Service, Great for lunch…read more Had a group of 5 for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and was a bit upset that they only serve Boags beer?!?! We are in Hobart people. The Lamb Cutlets were by far the most popular dish on our table and were demolished the fastest too. Next visit I will be trying them. However the Gnocchi special for the day was to die for and the right size for lunch. All of my dining companions enjoyed their meal and it was a pleasant afternoon. Downside 1 toilet in the whole place?

Ciuccio is located in salamanca square which is a great atmosphere in itself. The restaurant has…read moredecent food not the best Italian I have eaten but the setting is great and they have a wonderful wine selection. They also serve a platter full of meats, cheeses, grilled veggies and bread which is not only a bargain for 20$ but it truly is a delicious find. We sometimes will come to Ciuccio just to buy and share a few platters before heading across the square for a few drinks.

Let's not muck about, here: I've eaten a lot of pizza in my time. Good pizza, bad pizza, I've eaten…read moreit. Paesano's pizza is good pizza. That's it. That's all you have to know. Okay, that's not true, you can know some more stuff. Like the fact that once I discovered the Gallina pizza, I realised all my pizza dreams had come true and I would never want for another pizza topping combo again in my life. (I know you're curious: the Gallina's chicken, BBQ sauce, onion, mushrooms, pineapple and cheese aka all my favourite things). The Gallina makes for some crazy good morning-after pizza as well (because every true pizza connoisseur knows that the true height of a pizza's glory is in its cold next-day form, unless it's primarily a cheese pizza). The pizzas come in a range of different sizes, small to medium to large to family. The family pizza is daunting. Small is perfect for one person. I normally get a medium so I can have breakfast pizza the next day (for reasons stated above). I've never eaten in at Paesano, because (as other reviews have mentioned) it's a bit cramped for dining in. Also, I don't live too far away so it serves me well to call up to order my takeaway, then take a meander up the hill (checking out the awesome Hobart views en route) to collect my pizza. The only problem is then not eating (all of) the pizza before arriving home again. If only Paesano's delivered...

YO RUCKUS I LOVE YA DRUMMIES!!!…read more I've heard this corner of Centro New Town is cursed and I honestly and wholeheartedly hope that is not the case, or that the glory of Ruckus Fried Chicken defeats and destroys the curse, because it's pure delicious good stuff in here and at ridiculously reasonable prices. Choose a cut of chook (I'm here for drumsticks), choose the seasoning (I always push my luck and get some done spice and some done maple syrup because then it's like a main and a dessert drummy and who could say no to that?), and then choose a side or two to go with your chook, and then maybe get a house made soda or flavoured milk to go with it too and oh my gosh I only just remembered I have a salted caramel almond milk in my fridge at home that I bought from Ruckus a couple of days ago and honestly that remembered fact has made my entire day. My fave thing to do is place my takeaway order, go do a little bit of shopping at Coles next door, then grab my food on my way out. Any excuse is a good excuse. Oh no, we're getting low on milk... better go to Centro. If anything makes me regret my impending vegetarianism, it's Ruckus Fried Chicken. Maybe I could be non-vegetarian just one day a month or something. I will call it Ruckus Day. Not today, conscience. It's Ruckus Day.

Firstly, let's set the scene. Heavens Above is a tearoom in an old/ex church space, with a little graveyard out the front, to boot. Classic. There's a breakfast menu and a lunch menu, but if you arrive just on the cusp of lunch the kitchen will probably still be kind enough to fry you up some crispy bacon and mushrooms, aka the perfect simple breakfast menu item. Definitely don't go past the drinks menu either--I couldn't quite fit in the namesake hot chocolate on my first visit but I've thought about it at least twice a week since my visit and I'll be returning soon to hit dat. Top it all off at Heavens Above with wonderfully sweet service and you've got five stars from me. I can't help myself. Send me back to Heaven.
