Don't waste your time and money. For $15 I got a dinner plate's sized pizza as thick as shirt cardboard and the same taste. Go to Costco.

Was in town for a weekend get-away and was searching for a veggie burger that was homemade with…read moregood/nutritious ingredients (quinoa, black bean etc). Found Fort George right down the street from our hotel and they had a black bean burger on the menu (whooo!) Headed over for a late lunch/early dinner at 3 pm. You can choose from the wood fired pizza section upstairs (I believe they take reservations) or the pub downstairs (first come first serve) which has a few indoor tables, some semi-outdoor tables that are well covered with a roof and glass sides, or a fully outdoor beer garden with covered and un-covered picnic tables. You order at the counter and then pick your table, they'll drop off the food to you. We opted for the black bean veggie burger which came with pepper jack cheese, guac, some Aioli, and a side of fries. It was very good and exactly what we were craving. They did have a vegan chicken sandwich that looked good but instead I went with a side salad with poppy seed dressing. The salad was fresh and so delicious and the dressing was perfection! Also did a side of hummus and veggies. The hummus wasn't fresh/home made, rather it was from a local place (I believe) and was pretty good. We didn't have their beer but they did have a large selection with varying ABVs and types (the fresh hop IPAs looked extra good); however we didn't see any non-alcoholic options when we looked. We had the ice tea which was fine as well as a Lüp, which was a sparkling hop water, it was pretty good. They also have a gift shop with shirts, hats, beers, and more. They had four (!!!) different types of aged barleywines - we regret not getting some to bring back home. Everyone working was also welcoming, friendly, and helpful when I had a few questions about the menu. Would recommend and we'll come back the next time we're in town !

We had such a good time here. Thankfully, they weren't too packed, as the sun was starting to set…read morewhen we went. This place is huge, btw. They have 2 floors, a bar on each floor, an outdoor courtyard area, and a barn area in the back with two bars and a stage. We caught a live show and thoroughly enjoyed it before driving back home to Seattle. We also hung out in the courtyard, enjoying the large caged wood fireplace, before heading to the barn for the live show. The service was excellent, maybe because they weren't too busy that day, and we entered upstairs, not downstairs, since street parking wraps around the building and, depending on where you park, you'll enter at different parts of the brewery/restaurant/warehouse. We were seated right away and got seats near the windows to enjoy the sunset. We ordered: Shrimpy Bread-this was tasty, but the teeny tiny frozen shrimp they use were not it. I'm thinking even normal-sized shrimp chopped up really small would have been tastier, but also, if you live for that shrimp flavor, this will be your jam. For me, the lemon flavor stood out, and combined with the cheese, it made it so worth it. Yum. Wood-fired pizza-half almighty and half carousel - this was omg, chef's kiss, perfect to share between the two of us. If we lived in Astoria, we could see ourselves coming in for this combo to take home. Really liked the decor. It felt very brew house, with wood throughout and lots of windows for ocean and neighborhood views from up on the hill. Also noticed folks from all walks of life here, families, couples, tourists, locals. It was a nice, casual vibe. We'll be back next time we're in the area :)

The ingredients on the sandwiches were very fresh. I could have used a little more sauce on mine. However, the potatoe salad was the star of the show. Definitely tangy and i loved the pickles in it. I have a fondness for international markets and sandwiches. So it was fortuitous to visit Gaetano's…read moreMarket & Deli in Astoria. It reminded me of two Italian spots in Seattle's Pioneer Square. Very popular since most of the onsite seating were occupied (6/20/25). No surprise after glancing at their menu, easily I could gravitate towards several of their sandwiches. Lots of merch and deli items are also available to select from. I ended up ordering a half pound of proscuitto (0.52 lb for $17.67). This was carefully sliced thin, packaged, and wrapped carefully, which was duly noted and greatly appreciated. We paused at window counter seats and had to sample the purchase before departing. Absolutely delicious! Helped elevate a meal the next day too. I may have to return to indulge in one of their Italian sandwiches. Update: we did return to dine onsite at the same window counter seats (6/22/25). The Homie had the Hot Meatball ($14). Meaty with zesty sauce. I had the Salami Panini ($12), which reminded me of a fave Italian panini at Irwin's Bakery & Cafe in Seattle. Both were fantastic, hit the spot, clean plate club worthy, and definitely no takeout boxes needed! Gaetano's Market & Deli, a terrific find in Astoria!
