First off kudos to the management here. Positive and good people, that actually care about the mostly young people who rollerskate here. What a nostalgic joy this is, as my son and his friends are skating to good music and lights. I can't say I'm going to rollerskate today or ever, but am older and the back hurts enough. Yet am grinning from ear to ear. The prices are family friendly, and the staff are friendly and professional. I feel my son and other young people are safe here. That alone is a relief, as teenagers can be interesting. I watched managements rapport with young people, and they are really nice to them. They keep this a safe and family friendly place. Also I learned this is family owned. Kudos to everyone here, as this is a must visit place if in the area. This could be the biggest rollerskate place in the region, and I encourage people from NOVA and the DMV to come here. They sell food, such as pizzas and other good items. The seating area is quite comfortable. A gem of Culpeper, and definitely give this place five stars, as it is a special place! read more

Wish I could give ZERO stars. Awful business etiquette. I was to have a party for my daughter recently. The day before the party I contacted and asked to reschedule because she came down with strep. We couldn't mail down a new date or time that would be appropriate for a 10 year olds party. So, I asked for a refund. They refused saying that I cancelled an hour prior to the party time. Which obviously as I stated above, was not the case. They were rude and not very understanding. They said I should of told them weeks in advance we weren't going to be able to keep the party. HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW MY CHILD WOULD GET STREP?! Very disappointed. read more

Out of control minor children. Tween and Teens are dropped off at the door with no adult supervision. That in of itself isn't the issue. The issue is there are kids starting fights, running over little kids on the floor, being rude, causing people to fall, and generally being dangerous. The staff doesn't insure any sort of order other than their gum policy. It's a nice place but the staff do not ensure safety and I don't think we will be back. Also this wasn't an off visit. We've been 7 times since they reopened and it just gets worse each time. read more

I'm a retired Grandfather who attempted to help my daughter with my granddaughters 10th Birthday Party. I contacted Dominion via telephone, the gentleman I spoke with was more than happy to accept my $150 deposit for the $300 fee of the rinks rental. The gentleman informed me that their system was not fully ready for payments but could process mine with and additional $16.00 change. I agreed to the additional charge, shortly after I received a receipt for my charge, this was my entire involvement with Dominion Skating center. My granddaughter got sick and was taken to the Doctor where she was diagnosed with Strep. My daughter notified Dominion to advise them and as I'm am to understand the person she spoke with was extremely rude, the end result they were unable to settle on another date and time for my granddaughters party. My daughter inquired as to how her father, Lilly's grandfather (Me) could get the deposit refunded. Apparently they are not going to give a refund because my daughter didn't advise them in time according to the contract. I cannot comment on this as I stated earlier my involvement was a short phone transaction with a receipt for the deposit plus additional fee. No contract or terms were discussed with myself, I have only learned of this via a phone call from my daughter informing me of same. I contacted Dominion via email, they are advising Me that they can't refund my deposit because it was to late and again referred to the contract. I again responded that I had not seen nor was advised much less sent a copy of said contract that advise was given to my daughter. I will not endorse or support anything having to do with Dominion Skating, it appears to this granddaughter that the owners convet money/greed over customers. What a sad lesson for a 10 year old Birthday Girl to learn. read more

Its nice that the skating rink opened again since it's nothing for the kids to do. They do have things they need to fix. They need to have someone at the door when people come in. When standing in line people cut. Teenage kids just think there privileged to do whatever they want. The floor guards pay no attention to the kids .Tips on what you need to do. I have been to a skating rink where you keep it moving on the floor. You have people lined up on the floor against the wall. Floor guards are doing the same. Fast skaters skate on the outside slower skaters on the inside. Floor guards do nothing about that. You announce it one time and do nothing. Also, when people are flying around like your racing all the time they need to slow down they are not the only ones on the floor. Management needs to have more control and you need to enforce rules. I really enjoy skating but it would be nice if there was more structure for everyone. read more

This place is a dump. Plain and simple. The food is frozen and prepared and either a toaster oven or microwave type fashion. Every time my children go there to skate and eat there, within 24 hours they have tummy problems and diarrhea. The pizza tastes like cardboard. The Staff aren't very nice either. They seem to think they own a gold mine compared to what they really own, very poor attitudes. My son was approached aggressively about a minor issue that other kids were doing as well, but because my son back talk to manager, he got in my son's face like he was a man! The manager got nose to nose with him, yelling at him as loud as he could, and spitting in his face as he yelled! My son is 13 years old! When I arrived to pick up my son who was totally traumatized by this situation, the manager approached me with hostility, and had four staff members behind him like they were bouncers or something! It was laughable. I am a 47-year-old mother of twins, short and overweight, so I don't know what in the world he was thinking I could do to him to hurt him. I have heard other complaints from other parents that their children have been banned for life over small situations And that's exactly what they did to us last night. It's their loss though, we would send our children with $50 to spend every Friday night. They have certainly lost that money now because we will not return until new owners take over. With the way these people act, it is only a matter of time before someone else comes to take their place. Hopefully the food will also be better! read more

Super easy and pretty drive from Charlottesville. Rink is large and floor looked good. We went on a Saturday night so it was busy, but not so much so that my kids felt like they were going to run into anyone. Music selection was okay - not a playlist I'd want on my phone, but bearable (mix of overplayed semi current pop songs with couple 90's throw backs). The rink offers traditional quads, rollerblades and speed skates to rent. We have been to many rinks and this is the first one we've encountered that offered speed skates. My kids are used to quads so we went those - skates were of decent quality and seemed pretty clean. It was 8.00 per skater for entry plus skate rental. Blades and speed skates have an additional fee. There's no outside food or drink allowed - not even water. The snack bar was exciting for my kids because they sell slushees and cotton candy. The staff was kind and you can tell they know many of the teens, definitely have a small community vibe. I was shocked they didn't do a limbo contest - think that would be fun for the weekend crowd. We will visit the rink again because it's the closest one to Charlottesville without having to go over the mountain. read more

Cash only business, no longer accepts checks (and still doesn't accept cards- it's 2019). New ownership, staff is rude and has/enforces many rules not posted clearly. Our large group of elementary kids was spoken for kids being in the game room , trying to turn skates in early when they were done skating (kids are apparently not allowed to have their shoes back if they don't want to skate), standing at the railing while learning to skate, teen trying to return car key to parent still inside after he was clearly leaving with a friend (we understand not going in and out, but that wasn't the case). It's important everyone is safe, however the staff approaching our group/ kids/ adults repeatedly for minor infractions of "rules" not posted really put a damper on the party. read more

I recently did a photo shoot here and everyone was just so sweet and accommodating! I will definitely be back just to have fun and skate!

It seems to be one of the larger rinks in the area, at 80'x180' total floor size. There are a few uneven spots in the floor but nothing bad. During the afternoon sessions they hold races for about ten minutes in the middle, which is pretty cool. They only skate counterclockwise. Pizza and hot dogs at the snack bar. We have started going on weekends and plan to continue doing so. Nice place, inexpensive for a family, and friendly. I do wish they reversed direction for part of the time but apparently they used to and decided to stop. read more
