First experience with Dominic's: I had them come take a look at a tenant's clogged dishwasher and broken ice maker. They told me they were ordering a new part for the ice maker. After waiting for weeks, I called for an update on when the replacement part would show up. Dominic's response: we don't fix fridges. Second experience: I called Dominic's explaining that an error reading "cd-0" had started appearing on the display panel of my stove and was no longer going away when I hit clear on the stove or reset the power via the circuit breaker. They sent a repair person to "diagnose" the issue. The "diagnosis" involved him standing in my house for a total of about 5 minutes and not even touching the stove. In other words, he stared at my stove displaying its self-diagnosis that was appearing on the display panel. After his visit, there was no follow up regarding parts that needed to be ordered, repair time, or repair cost. Just a charge to my credit card for $107. I even called Dominic's and left a message and didn't get a call back. When I was able to reach Dominic's, I was told it would cost as much to repair the stove as it would to replace it. Meanwhile, during my first call to them, I had expressed a concern that this would happen. I had even asked them how fixable the issue was given the meaning behind the error code being displayed. Dominic's at least listened to my complaint and tried to explain why they do things the way they do, but sorry, no thank you to paying $107 to have someone come into my house, stare at a display error on my stove, and leave. Other businesses I've worked with will have you talk to a technical expert before bringing anyone to your property. Never again! read more

Circa 2020: Sales is good. Installer is *extremely* unprofessional. He doesn't care about your house and will get water all over it and argue and complain to you. Got left with a sink that leaks. They should fire the installer. Also, mask use by the delivery team is inconsistent and poses a risk to anyone that is medically fragile to whom they deliver. Edit: had a plumber come out and fix what was wrong with the dishwasher within 5 minutes. The installer truly didn't care or take any pride in his work. read more

I had an incredibly frustrating and unprofessional experience with Dominic's Appliances. The first technician who came out said there was nothing wrong with our dishwasher but made inappropriate comments towards both me and my girlfriend. We had to make another appointment as the dishwasher continued not to work. The second technician informed us that the dishwasher was too old to be repaired with the tools he had on hand and said the first technician should have noticed this. He scheduled a follow-up visit for the following week. On the day of the appointment, I received a text saying they couldn't come due to their truck not working, which was surprising for a supposedly large appliance business. I rescheduled, and the last appointment was set for a Thursday. However, the day before, I received a call saying they were trying to deliver the dishwasher on Wednesday, even though they previously claimed my appointment was actually on Tuesday. I asked them to call my partner's phone and provided the number, but on the day of the scheduled drop-off, they claimed to have called her. When I checked, she had received no call or message. After I followed up, they immediately called her, making it clear they had lied about contacting her earlier. I've been very patient with Dominic's Appliances over the past few weeks, but the lack of professionalism and outright dishonesty was shocking. To make matters worse, I was laughed at when I tried to address the issue. Unfortunately, as a renter, I have no choice but to deal with this company. I purchased a new refrigerator from Dominic's in 2021 and the transaction went well. Satisfied customer.

They were all nice at the store selling me a very expensive washer the delivery was 12 to 4 they got to me at 420pm . The guys told me they have problem disconnecting water lines told them connect old lines to washer when done I found a screw and screen washer on floor. They said a small drip from cold line so then shut the line off. I went down there was way more then drip called they lied to store manager about what happened. They really let me down. I spent over 4 weeks trying to get a new washer and dryer delivered to my rental property with both Best Buy and Home Depot. Three attempted deliveries from each and still no washer/dryer. Excuses ranged from they brought it in too big of a truck and didn't want to get a parking ticket (so they just left), no one was home (my tenant was texting me all morning asking when they'd be there), or they broke one of the machines getting it off the truck. These companies apparently hire the cheapest third party company they can find for deliveries and it's apparent. Not knowing what to do I started searching locally, which is what I should have done from the beginning. Spoke to Kevin on the phone to figure out what they had in stock that would work, and a few days later (today) I finally got my tenants a working washer/dryer. Didn't get their names, but the delivery guys were professional, pretty quick, and didn't damage anything. And they had to remove the older W/D and bring the new set up two flights of stairs. Don't waste time with the big box stores when it comes to getting appliances if you want to avoid a lot of frustration. It was my first experience with Dominic's but glad I found them! read more

BUYER BEWARE: DO NOT BUY I tried ordering a washer/dryer combo from Home Depot for 4 months and nothing. I called Dominics and I got a washer/dryer combo within a week. I paid for delivery, installation of the washer/dryer combo and removal of the old unit. When the delivery guys delivered the unit, a fire was started at the dryer vent, as noted in the pic. The delivery guy took a major shock on top of the fire. We were lucky my place didn't burn down. Long story short, the delivery guys left, (I tipped them really good because I felt bad over the fire and shock) the unit was not hooked up. I called Dominics about paying for the damage and replacing the unit. They told me they would if I got an electrician to verify there was a problem with the unit and not faulty wiring. Dominics said it was probably faulty wiring (I never had an issue with the old unit catching fire). They also said that their delivery men are perfect and don't make mistakes. A $300 electrician bill later, all of my wiring, outlets, and breaker box was fine. Nothing was wrong. It was determined that the power cord (purchased brand new from Dominics) was not grounded and when power was applied, it caused sparks and the fire. Once the electrician determined it was safe to hookup the washer dryer, we hooked it up and I fixed the damage myself. All in all for me to hook up the unit, pay for materials that burned, materials to fix my bathroom, and the electrician, I spent about $400 extra. I have called and called Dominics many times. Everytime I call, a worker will take my name and say they will return my call but they never do. I have left numerous voicemails but nothing is returned. I would go to the store to complain but I'm afraid I'll get arrested for providing the facts that their delivery people caused the fire and damage to my bathroom. I will never buy from or recommend Dominics again. They have shady policies and do not keep their word. Short of not being paid $400 for the damages, an apology would be nice. Just beware of their practices. In the event of a fire, you are on your own. read more

I loved Doms and used them did many appliances. Fast forward to 1/24/22: Doms delivered appliances to my new neighbor two doors down this past Friday on 2500 block of s. Juniper street. Except they left their big box full of trash on the block instead of taking it away after delivery. I called them Saturday to ask them what's up and they confirmed their delivery guys should have taken the trash. I call back Monday morning to ask them to come get the trash (bc they hadn't don't it yet) and the guy who answered was very rude and said "why won't the trash guys take it on trash day" then claimed he would let his boss know but then never asked for the address. Based on this experience they have lost me as a customer and I will not recommend them. read more

Called elsewhere for a new washing machine, I got "out of stock" or "wait until after the holidays" or other evasive answers. Called Dominic's, the price was the same as the competitors, and... "hang on let me check if we have it...", but if they did, delivery and installation could be done next afternoon. Did they sell me a machine someone else had already ordered, or a floor model? Possible. Mayyybe they had one in model back that they forgot about. I'm not asking questions. I don't care. I had a busted '90s Kenmore workhorse washer that I had repaired myself at least 3 times, and was finally unfixable. I had a growing pile of dirty laundry, and the holidays staring me square in the face. Dominic's came through in the clutch. A little over 24 hours from my initial call, I'm listening to the sweet sound of stinky dirty clothes being converted into fresh & clean clothes, and that's something nowhere else was able to deliver. Installation and hauling fees for the old appliance beat the competitors too. I know who I'm calling when my dryer gives up the ghost. read more

I'm from South Philly so I'm gonna tell it like it is. Needd a new timer for my dryer. I called, they sent a guy out next day. He showed up said it wasn't the timer just a new knob was needed. Came back three days later with new knob, it still didn't work. Then he said oh! it is the timer but looks like they can't get one. I said OK I'll look for one my self. I found one then they wanted to charge me $ 150 to put it in or buy a new dryer from them. I actually repaired the timer myself and saved the dryer. Could you imagine the headache and cost that would've been incurred if I had OK I'll just buy a new dryer. That's the problem w/ places today no one can or wants to REPAIR anything, they just REPLACE parts and they call themselves technicians. So watch out people! Worked with Anthony in sales a few years ago to buy a fridge and speed queen washer (only type that can fit in down a south philly row home basement!) Called him up for service for an old dryer (12+ years old). My father in law wanted a new one but Anthony was honest and suggested to get the dryer checked out, hoping to save us a few bucks--Scheduled an appointment and a tech came out within the week and on time. He was friendly and did not try to up sell or pressure us into buying anything. In fact, the tech ended up be able to get it work and we're back in business. He did mention me that if the issue came back, the part could be replaced for modest price. Overall, great service and experience working with everyone at Dominic's. Great to support local family owned business. Will be going to them to furnish my home in a few months. read more

I purchased an electric stove in November 2022. Only 3 of 4 burners work correctly. The 4th burner which is the large one will not go above medium. This has been the case since the stove was installed. I called Peter at Dominic's who sent out a serviceman. He could not fix it and Pete told me to call GE Cares for service. GE has been out 3 times to fix it and it still does not work correctly. I asked Pete at Dominic's for help on several occasions and he told me 3 of the 4 burners should be good enough and then questioned why the lady who lives there complained so much. He told me he couldn't help me since their shop only sold the unit and didn't make it. I have spent over 3 hours on the phone with GE Cares to no avail. If GE can't fix it they should take the unit back and refund the purchase price. GE Cares (not) and Dominic's does not care that the occupant lost 3 days of pay because she had to miss work to meet the service people. Finally this morning I purchased a new stove from a different appliance store. Maybe GE Cares and Dominic's were hoping I would just go away. read more

While delivering my fridge about 6 months ago they struggled to deliver it it was damaged. But the worst part was the one delivery driver was so frustrated he wouldn't stop saying racial slurs about my Asian landlord which is unacceptable. I wish I would have reported this sooner.... But the more I sat with it it felt like my absolute responsibility to bring attention to the racism and unprofessionalism by this company. I simply refuse to repeat what was said. I live in South Philadelphia and I only order from Dominics. We ordered a Speed Queen washer and dryer from them (the only brand that would fit down our basement steps), a stove, and a small dishwasher (they were one of the few places that carried an 18" dishwasher). They fixed our stove while it was under warranty and did a great job. I think their services is better than AJ's down the street and I also prefer to them to Home Depot because they have more patience with South Philadelphia row homes. We had a few bad experiences with Home Depot because they subcontract their delivery services and give them to many appliances to deliver in one day. The appliances either arrive damaged and the delivery guys don't have time or the patience to get the appliances into the house. The guys in the shop are great. Personable, attentive, and know what they're talking about. The installers, however, were a totally different story. Nice guys, but messed up several times. They forgot to install a pressure hose within my washer which subsequently flooded my basement. They also didn't put the hinges back on my door before leaving. I left three or four messages on their machine for the service department (after nobody picked up) which all went unanswered. When a repair tech finally came out the next week, he was very pleasant and fixed the installer's mistake within five minutes. I never heard from Dominic's afterwards. It's a shame, because I really want to use a neighborhood store and build that relationship after buying my new house about two blocks from the shop, but this is not the level of service I'd ever expect. read more

They not only delivered me a Great Whirlpool within three days, but the installers were awesome and overcame issues trying to get it upstairs to where my kitchen was located. From my first interaction with a sales rep, Kevin, who made the purchase easy and was so helpful, to the installers, who were equally cool and positive, my experience with them was 5 star all the way! Bought dishwasher about one year ago and already needed to have a new one installed. The guys they sent to install my dishwasher did a sloppy job (constant smell of mold and leaking); the installers also demanded more money on top of the installation fee once they arrived ($190 more). Dominic's said there was nothing they could do since the installation company is a 3rd party. I will never, ever shop here again, it's a shame since I would prefer to shop local. So we ended as 5 stars plus (big thank you to Brian) but started at 3 stars so I'll leave it at 4. Moved to Point Breeze, want to deal with local folks, called Dominic's. Took a few phone calls and waited a week to get appt for washer repair (challenging as we just moved and desperately needed the washer) but it's COVID so was understanding. Day of got call to confirm and name of tech but different people showed (a little confusion there). But all good, we are getting this machine fixed. Was diagnosed as simple repair (belt fell off pulley) and an empty washer fill seemed to confirm repair worked. Fast forward a few hours and no agitation again. So a few more calls and another week gone by and then Brian arrived and made everything better. Identified initial repair incomplete, a few things missed but needed part. He came back almost immediately fixed it and put on a new belt to prevent issues in near term and stayed to make sure everything was all good. He explained everything, was beyond accommodating and was thorough. Brian restored my faith and our nect repair or appliance purchase will have me calling Dominic's! read more

Unfortunately, we missed a sale at the other stores by a day and prices had gone back up $100 on each item. Dominic's prices we $50-$100 less then everyone else's sale prices, just know what you want and have the item numbers. Delivery was no problem, where Lowes had said they would not deliver through my basement window, it was not a problem for Dominic's, washer & dryer right in through the window, old stuff out and gone, couldn't have asked for a better experience. read more

Been calling every day to try to get someone on the phone to schedule the install for the new part and it goes directly to voicemail every time they transfer me to the service department. Thank you Dominic's for such great service. I met with Anthony on Friday and we had our new washer machine on Monday. I appreciate them offering options for me to be able to pay for the machine, though I chose C.O.D. and received a nice break for it. I received a call the morning of from Dominic's tell let me know the machine was being delivered within the hour. The delivery guys were nice, professional and efficient. We have one of those houses in West Philly where the cellar doors are so small, the new washers can't fit through, so we HAD to get a Speed Queen, one of the only washers that still can be taken apart. It's additional cost if they had to do that. However, we were lucky and they were able to get it down in one piece. So, I saved money with them being able to get it down as a whole unit. It was a tight squeeze and the delivery guy told me it could possibly get scuffed going down and it did, but he recommended I get some GOJO and that it would take off any scuff marks. I recently got a kitchen remodel. I got a refrigerator, a stove, and a dishwasher. All the appliances are rejects and ordered by the contractor. The refrigerator has a dent in it. One of the burners on the stove does not work and the dishwasher only worked on the rinse cycle. I would not recommend anybody to buy appliances there and as far as all those that gave a good rating I don't see it. They must have paid them to give a good rating. And besides that the delivery guys asked for a tip. I could say much more but it would take up to much space so take this tip and stay away. read more

Very disappointed in their after the delivery service, They put a dryer in my home and I couldn't close the door because the vent behind the dryer wouldn't let it go back any further. The dryer has knockout holes to run the vent through either side so I don't know why they didn't do that from the beginning. I called 3 times over a few weeks and told them I will pay for the service..... never got a return call. They just lost my business and my recommendations when asked. read more

Did not try and sell me a product, but was there to educate me on best washer and dryer to purchase and left decision up to me and wasn't pushy and is very easy going. Even when i had issues with my appliances Pete made it very easy for me to get my issues resolved. With a gas dryer hookup and a basement stairway width of 26 inches, I thought that my only option would be to resort to my old one piece stackable washer and dryer that I had in my old apartment. Nope I was wrong! Dominic's will bring you a commercial grade washer and dryer and put it together in your basement! Aside from their knowledge, they are extremely professional, friendly, and helpful people. Their plumber, mike came out to my house beforehand to check out some serious issues that we were having (water in our basement) which we casually mentioned when we were buying the washer and dryer. He was awesome, good hearted, and very honest. These are the guys that you want to know and give your business to. They will not rip you off in any way. Calling Dominic's was the best move I ever made, from the repair man that came and gave me my options which in this case meant buying a new washer.
