We got quotes and input from about 4 other tree services, but we felt like they were all overpriced except for one. This other service was not Pillows Tree Service. It was some other group that seemed professional enough, but they wouldn't return calls or show up to appointments on time. My brother-in-law then recommended Ernest to me. He picked up the phone right away, was responsive, and gave a very reasonable quote. I told him he could take the job. Let me just say that these guys were fantastic. Ernest kept a close eye on the whole process. Whereas the other guys told me that it would take them three days, Ernest got the job done in two. I never saw anyone just standing around. He even made sure his team cleaned up after themselves for a limb that dropped into the neighbor's yard (as I would've expected with this tree). I've shopped around, and I'll tell you to save yourself the hassle of quote after quote. Give Ernest a call, and he will make sure that your job is handled professionally and at a reasonable rate.

I did ~$8K worth of work with this company. From the beginning I clearly stated that my goal (and…read moreneed to clear and stump grind all trees) was in order to build a fence. Despite that, we got to two trees in the back and they said it was "not included". I took them at their word and paid the additional fees to have those stumps grinded. The final dispute came up on a tree that should have been trimmed. As I mentioned, my goal was to clear the fence line and build a fence, however, they left a single branch which had grown over a telephone line. When I pointed it out to them, they said they would come back the next day and cut it. This never happened. I paid them in full, in good faith, (for tree trimming, stump grinding, and some landscaping) and they refuse to come back and finish the work without me paying an additional fee. At that point, I started seeing a pattern of them nickel and diming me and refuse to pay anymore, especially given this was initially requested as well as the amount of work done. They also left quite a bit of tree debris (haul away should have been included), and damaged the grading of my yard (they pulled the truck into the grass and left tire and trailer marks). My most recent requests to confirm and explain why there is an additional charge has gone without response. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this company.

One of the stumps was just impossible without the major equipment. Texted him about it. He never responded to me. Disappointed. If you use him to cut down a tree, just don't let them cover up the job with mulch. Make sure they get all of it.

They cleaned up after themselves every day, never blared music and kept to a tight schedule working very hard daily. No corners were cut with any of the preparations and quality work was of upmost importance. They worked with existing drainage, plumbing and sprinklers and made repairs/upgrades as needed while helping to stay within budget.
