I enjoyed the friendly attentive staff and Ashley's professionism and cuts (obviously as I returned several times). Hearing that Ashley had transfered to Bee Cave/Lakeway I went ahead and made an appointment there yesterday (Wednesday April 30 at 10am). I was told Ashley had upped her price by $10 in an advanced email prior to my appointment. The email also stated that any NO SHOW of my appointment would result in a 50% charge on my credit card on file. The total drive from my home to Wild Orchid was over 45 minutes. Upon arriving a few minutes before my appointment time, I was greeted by at least 3 people offering me something to drink, which was greatly appreciated for the customer service. But after waiting for nearly 10 minutes for Ashley to show, I left because Ashley didn't call, text or notify anyone anything about her NO SHOW. And still today, I have yet to hear of any apology or excuse as to why she didn't show or call. Not a word from management either. I should expect a 50% refund from my last appointment. Neither was I offered a included hair wash with any of my previous appointments that I was unaware it came with the cost of the cut. I thought I'd found the one stylist I could depend on to do my hair the way I wanted and was willing to travel over an hour and 15 minutes round trip to get. But I will NOT be going back to Ashley nor Wild Orchid for anything UNLESS they make this right. So far, I've heard nothing.

Immediately on the phone they helped me figure what the best thing to do was, the front desk girl- Danielle (I think that's her name) went and talked to Dye to see what she could do and they didn't even hesitate to get me in to fix it. Not only did Dye the hairstylist get me in extremely last minute, but she did an amazing job on my really complicated hair situation. She ended up doing 3 rows of extensions, and she listened to my price point and listened to what I wanted to do, and also did check ins with me to make sure I liked it. I've never had a better experience with a hair salon/ hair stylist. Extremely welcoming and such a calm and friendly environment. Unfortunately, I'm very disappointed with my experience at Deep Roots Bee Cave. My hair was…read morecompletely virgin/untouched, so I was very careful about choosing an experienced stylist. I booked a full lightening service with Whittney and showed photos of the soft beige highlights I wanted to work toward to brighten my hair and blend my grays. I understood I wouldn't achieve the exact result in my inspiration photos because my natural base is darker, but I expected my hair to be noticeably brighter and moving in that direction. I paid $375 for the lightening service. After my appointment, my hair looked essentially the same except for some unwanted copper/brassy tones. The salon repeatedly referred to the color as "caramel," but to me it was noticeably brassy. They also referred to what I was seeing as "the highlights," when the result looked is barely noticeable and what you can see are some patchy spots, with the lighter pieces mostly noticeable at the top rather than continuing through the lengths. I ultimately gave up on pursuing the highlights and returned for a separate correction appointment simply wanting the brassiness neutralized and my hair brought as close as possible to its original color without making it darker. During the correction appointment, after the toner had already been applied to neutralize the brassiness and get rid of the visible "highlights," Melanie, the owner, told me she had heard me say that I wanted the highlights to remain noticeable. I was genuinely stunned because I had been communicating the opposite. When I reiterated that I did not want them noticeable, she explained that completely covering what remained would require making my natural color darker. At that point, I said to leave it as it was because I did not want to darken my overall hair. The conversation then shifted to there having been a "miscommunication." I was told that I had appeared nervous during my original appointment and that they had therefore been hesitant to lighten my hair with bleach. This was especially frustrating to hear after the fact. I had specifically chosen an experienced stylist because my hair was virgin, showed what I wanted to work toward, and understood that getting there from my darker base would be a process. What I did not expect was to pay for a full lightening service, leave with unwanted brassiness and a result that looked patchy to me, give up on the highlights altogether, and then have to return for a correction. The salon ultimately refunded the $375 lightening service, which I appreciate. Unfortunately, the end result and, especially, the way my concerns were handled afterward, (they legitimately made me question if I even speak English correctly) made the overall experience very disappointing.
