Found dolly on Facebook Marketplace, great price for the move of a BR set I bought. Set up a time for pickup and the helper got in touch. Next day he asked to change the time by a couple hours, OK no biggie. Ended up being a no show. Waited 2 hours along with a seller at a near vacant condo. Called customer support several times, but to no avail. Pretty much an Uber for moving, obviously the people they choose as contractors are not up to par. BAD bad experience. read more

I ordered a delivery from a retail store. The helper left my delivery in my trash barrel!!! It was to be delivered to my front door and when I went to take out the trash I discovered it in the barrel. I have been told that I will receive a call from their retail division. read more

This was honestly the worst customer service experience I have ever had. We were just looking for some furniture moved that we purchased on facebook market place and it was a nightmare. Kept pushing the pickup time hours...then days. They finally sent someone who came with a small truck when we requested a van as they were larger items. They told the seller they would send someone else? The other person never showed up. You can't speak to a live person...just an awful experience. Don't waste your time. read more

Will use again, but one complaint. The whole concept of Dolly is brilliant, and the two helpers I hired for one hour (muscle only, no truck) were wonderful and the cost so reasonable (2 dudes for 1 hour = $71+tip). I will be using the service again. My only gripe is the stress I was caused by their policy of not confirming your helpers until 24 hours in advance of your requested day/time. And in my case, they didn't confirm until 3 hours prior, and only after I called to complain! The issue is: what if you end up telling me 24 hours in advance that you haven't been able to match me up with helpers and you can't complete my request? Now I'm screwed because you've left me zero time to make alternate arrangements. If they can fix this policy and confirm with their customers well in advance, I'd be 100% happy. read more

We booked services weeks ago for a move scheduled for tomorrow. We find out today there is no one available to complete our move for us, so now we're scrambling to find another mover with less than 24 hours notice. Don't use Dolly if you want a reliable move! read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU'RE MOVING ON A BUSY MOVING DAY IN YOUR CITY I booked dolly over a month in advance for a Boston move on a busy moving day. Confused by how this company works, I called to ask if they guarantee movers to pick up your move and expressed my concern over the busy moving day to see if I needed back up plans. They promised me my move would get picked up. A week before, move still not picked up, I called and again they promised this wasn't abnormal. A couple of days later a representative upped the payout for my move and assured me it would get picked up. Next night I received an email saying this close to the move it's likely that I will not have movers. Representatives were all very nice, but extremely unhelpful. They clearly were telling me things purely to prevent me from canceling and booking with a different company. I am extremely disappointed because I wanted it to work with them, however between this and my roommate also having a negative experience, I will certainly never use them again. read more

An absolutely amazing and stress free experience with our movers. We had Ray and Jason who were so friendly and understood where things needed to be put and figured out how to move our larger furniture through tight stairs. They even went above and beyond by offering. To add some boxes that we didn't request to their truck when there was extra room giving us even more room in our cars for other things. If you ever need to move definitely choose dolly. The entire process was stress free and a simple process. The app especially makes the process smoother and clear. read more

One of the two men I reserved for a dolly did not show. He never answered any of my attempts to contact him. Never got an answer on where he was or why he didn't show. Dolly was unable to find anyone else in the the Boston area that could fill in. Dolly threatened to administer a 50% cancelation fee after I requested to cancel the entire service. I highly recommend anyone who uses this service to have a good backup plan because these guys can no show with no repercussions and throw your moving plans out the window. read more

We had a really great experience with Dolly. We had to move a washing machine and dryer on August 31st - the worst day to move. No one was available, or gave us really crazy prices. With Dolly we were able to find someone to help us for a reasonable price. Our team came on time, communicated about everything, did the job quickly and were extremely friendly. We had booked a dolly close to a month in advance of our move. During that time, my bf broke his wrist, so we asked for another helper. Well, that was a mistake - Dolly canceled the mover we had 5 days before our move. We were able to be matched with someone else, but MIDNIGHT THE MORNING OF OUR MOVE, THEY CANCEL. Calling customer service did absolutely nothing, so we had to move everything ourselves - my bf with his broken wrist and me, who can carry a max of 40 lbs on a good day (hence our need to have helpers). Needless to say, it took us a ridiculous amount of time to move and we were both in pain the next day. I absolutely DO NOT recommend Dolly - it's not worth the stress, use an actual moving company. read more

While we had a terrible experience with the delivery, Dolly's corporate office has outstanding customer service. My home had almost $2,000 worth of damage from the delivery. I submitted my quote and received a check for the full amount of the repairs within six weeks. read more

I was moving and made a Dolly reservation several weeks in advance. The day before my move, my "helper" cancelled. Dolly tried to find a replacement, but they were looking for the wrong day, couldn't find someone and just said "Sorry, it didn't work out". I corrected them on the day, they started looking again. They confirmed that two people would be showing up to help for my three hour move. Only one did and he took off after an hour without a word. As a single woman, trying to move apartments, this pretty much left me stranded. I never got an apology or explanation. Dolly offered me a partial refund, after I insisted. Thanks. Great customer service. If you want any sort of reliability, this isn't the service for you. read more

If you want a guaranteed service to pick up or deliver your things, this company will not provide you this at all. It's website does not explain that you are only actually submitting a request, you are NOT ACTUALLY BOOKING MOVERS. I thought I had scheduled a move with two movers on a Friday, with any arrival time between 8am and 2pm about a week in advance. After I finally waited to contact them the afternoon before, only then that's when I finally started hearing from interested movers. The first man to contact me opened by asking if he could come at 6am. I clarified that was not what I paid for and wasn't able to do earlier than 8 bc of the rules of my building. Then he asked if I could do it the following day instead and threw in that if I could, he could bring a second guy with him. I had noted in my booking that I wasn't flexible on the day and that I was hiring two men. So when I told him that, he said we could 'do this off the app.' I then called the company and the first woman hung up on me. The second woman was very nice and reassuring. Minutes later a new guy reached out and sounded very responsible and we confirmed he was bringing a second guy and they would arrive on Friday between 8-8:30am. I was thrilled. At 8:04am I got a notification from the company that HE HAD CANCELLED. I tried calling them and because they are based on the west coast they were closed until 9:30am my time. Then a third guy contacted me asking if I could provide: 1. A TRUCK 2. SECOND GUY and 3. A RIDE BACK TO MY ORIGINAL LOCATION. Needless to say I cancelled everything and spent the next 3 hours scrambling to find a mover to pick up my old couch so I room in my tiny apartment for my new couch arriving the next day. I am reporting this company to the Business Bureau. This is absolute fraud. read more

This is a fantastic service! I needed a truck and a couple of guys to do the loading and all went quite well. My Dolly driver and assistant were prompt, courteous and friendly. The truck used was in great shape. I would definitely used this service again! The cost was quite fair and actually a lot less than using a moving service! read more

Worst company ever. Can't speak to someone when you have issues. we ordered furniture to be delivered and set up the deliver a full day in advance. The next day they told us they were "looking for helpers". I took the day off from work - an 8:30 am confirmed delivery turned into 11am, and then said if not delivered by 11 am " we will take it from there" - I'm still waiting as I write this. Disorganized. Frustrating as hell. Should have called the local movers and got it done when I wanted. read more

Worked with Dolly to move a two-piece sectional across town. Service was phenomenal - very easy to set up, use, and arrange. Movers were professional throughout and went above and beyond to work with schedules, etc. Pricing seemed very fair as well! Very happy with Dolly and will almost certainly use again! read more
