My husband and I stopped into this thrift store while we were in the area. It was well organized,…read moreand the toy area was particularly well organized. Usually if you go to a thrift store, the toy area is trashed from the kids playing with the toys. But they had the toys higher up on shelves and bagged with the pieces that go with the toys. So they actually had a better selection of toys because all the pieces are most pieces were intact. I ended up buying some toys there for my grandson and also some books. Their prices were good compared to other thrift stores. I did not look at the clothing prices which tend to be ridiculous at most thrift stores. We did not have to wait long at all to check out and the woman was friendly. I have been to the other Blessings Abound thrift store in Overland Park, but not this one. I would recommend it to anyone living in this area.

They have deals each week on different colored tags, so you can get 25%, 50%, or 75% off certain items. They also had a nice furniture section. The only thing a bit lacking was children's clothes, but overall they had nice items for great prices!

The box may be open or a little torn or dirty but they make sure everything inside is in good working condition and there are outlets available if you want to double check yourself. Deep discounts for your trip here. Things I spotted included name brand coffee makers, computer desks, fans, vacuums, toys, grills, pop up canopy, shelving units, art, party supplies. From now on before I buy anything elsewhere I'll be checking here first. They are expecting frequent deliveries so stock will change quickly and they plan to expand into the space next door soon. Hand made candles and fresh baked goods were also on offer with a coffee shop in their future.

I found two cans of deck stain that are the exact same. I have to dig through 8 shelves of deck stain to find two that matched. They were 1/3rd the price of Home Depot and went on perfectly. I feel a little bad using thier paint brushes as single use, but I don't have to worry about ruining my sink or clothes. I found a great buy on bird seed, the next week they were all sold out. Most items have price tags, but if not the staff will search out the price. Usually the check out line is slow, so be prepared to be patient. I usually bring in a cart from outside because the inside carts have large sticks attached to the sides.

Updating my review a little bit after returning several months later. The prices on a lot of the…read moreclothing seem to have come down a bit. It's a step in the right direction! I appreciate that they have color tag sales but the colors are confusing. Yellow looks just like orange, for example. The store itself could use some improvements. It's typically pretty dirty and they racks of clothes just pushed into random spots around the store so it's very cluttered and difficult to navigate. There's also very little rhyme or reason to how most of the Knick-knacks and books are organized. It's just kids books and adult books, not separated by genre or even fiction vs. nonfiction. The service is always pretty good. The people are friendly and say hello and goodbye. It's still not anywhere close to the best thrift store in the area but they have improved a little bit. I do think it's terrible how much prices have gone up in the last several years. The point of thrift stores is for low-income people to have the chance to buy good quality things secondhand for an affordable price. A lot of these places are forgetting that.

The Goodwill bins are not for everyone. It takes a very specific, very patient, very hands-on…read moreperson to have a good day at the bins. If that's you, you're in for a treat! There are lots of great things to be found here but they're entirely dependent upon luck. You might come for days and find nothing good, then find something amazing in the first 10 minutes another time. Be prepared for dubious substances, slime, broken glass, and lots of garbage. Wear gloves if you think you need them. Be prepared for people to shove you out of the way to get something they want or, alternatively, stand 3 inches away and give you the stink eye while you dig through a bin they want to look in. As other reviewers have said, the people working there often just make up prices. This can sometimes work out in your favor but often leads to overpaying, especially if they make you weigh the cart. Whatever weight they have put in for the carts is not accurate at all and will lead to you paying extra 99 times out of 100. Seriously, this place is not for the faint of heart. Or nose. If you're a hardcore thrifter looking for your next treasure, it's absolutely worth the visit. Just make sure you bring some hand sanitizer!
