The cashier and the manager? Was SCREAMING instantly at these group of young kids who entered the store with backpacks "GET OUT OF MY STORE" over and over again. There's a professional way to handle this and it isn't screaming at the top of your lungs. Totally ruined my day and gave me anxiety attack. For the cashier to scream so loudly within 3 feet of me is very petty and jarring. Then the manager passed me screaming at the top of her lungs. Not good I was there today and the line was soooooooo long and only one cashier I felt so bad for her. A customer had to go ask the manager to help ring the customers. The manager finally came to help and showed us all how mad she was she wouldn't even talk! They need better management in that store and a smile wouldn't hurt either. They have a better/more organized selection compared to some of the other locations that I've been to. I normally wouldn't review a dollar store but I was there today and the line was so long. I could have been the eighth person in line and there was only one cashier available. The lady in front of me probably had close to 40 items. They should atleast have another employee available in the store when the lines get long like this. It took me close to 25 minutes to check out and quite frankly I was annoyed. read more

I was having a trainwreck of a day when my husband suggested we go to the Dollar Tree in Wilmington. He was looking for drinking glasses and I was looking for valentine candy and a possible box of Sixlets. It's a good-sized store brimming with cheap finds. We found generic Sham-Wow dish cloths and shammy cloths. Score! They had a decent assortment of valentine candy--from chocolate hearts and candy hearts to creepy heart-shaped gummies that were made in China. I bought them just to see if I could taste melamine. I couldn't. Score! The end result? I came away with enough candy to make festive little treat bags for my family. My husband got some sturdy, glass cups. I didn't find Sixlets in the candy section. Such is life. But really.. instead of spending the usual $100 on crap in Target, I ended up only spending $25. Niiiiiiice. Creepy find: Hannah Montana and High School Musical pens are up by the cash register. Each had a little plastic tv on top. When you clicked a button on top of it, the characters spun round 'n round and it eventually stops on one of them. Great for a gag gift or even fodder for a drinking game. read more

Interesting Dollar Store. For the age of the store, it's amazing. It's by far the cleanest location I've been in, that has been open for more than 5 years (2008, when this plaza, Wilmington Crossing, opened). Parking wasn't a problem, and exiting / entering wasn't an issue either. The store wasn't busy and was, as I stated before, immaculate. They had a normal selection of products, same as all of the other Dollar Trees, missing a few items (such as I couldn't find any of the iPhone cases or colored screen protectors I have at other Dollar Tree stores), but also having some more items than other Dollar Tree stores (like halloween candy in November, as well as an elaborate bin / container section. Not the greatest in the world (and I would like them to add more in the electronics section), but overall, this is a great discount store to serve the Wilmington area, that continues to stay clean. Shows good customer service from management. Some other Dollar Tree locations should learn from them..... read more

Compared to other dollar stores no matter how close to a holiday it is , I find the Wilmington store is the worse. No matter what town I'm in , I always visit a dollar store just to see the difference and most of the time always buy something. I feel I'm in a different store compared to the one in Wilmington. My husband and I were visiting the store in Wilmington Ma 3 weeks ago. Upon entering the store my husband requested to use hand sanitizer. Considering the current state of public health that is not an usual request, in fact most stores we visit have sanitizer or wipes readily available at the door for customer use. He was told by the cashier Julie that there is none available for customer use or purchase. However I will remind you he was not looking to purchase any he only wanted to use it as he had entered the store door with an ungloved hand. Fast foward to checkout, as Julie completes my order and I finish paying my husband notices there is a half used bottle of sanitizer sitting on the counter where Julie is working. He brings this to her attention, Julie responds by saying that is store property and she has the authority to choose who she allows to use the sanitizer. In essence she can do what she wants when she chooses and i believe were my husband not black he would not have received such a response. After hearing her response, my husband requests a refund of all items and we were not going to shop here any longer. Julie in a boisterously refused, she would not provide a refund. Naturally, this response agitated my husband and myself. I continued to calmly request a refund as Julie is arguing with my husband. In the midst of this, another associate named Eric runs to the front of the store I assumed to deescalate the situation. However, to my surprise Eric in fact escalated the situation. He also began yelling at my husband before even asking questions, telling him to "leave the store, your not getting shit and wouldn't do shit bitch ass nigga". As you can imagine at the point of hearing this disgusting racial slur any person would become frustrated and possibly even infuriated. At this time thankfully professional staff member arrived at the altercation. I was able to talk with her explain the situation, which she apologized for and then refunded me money. The professional associate is the only staff member whose name i did not get i believe she was the shift supervisor. I wish I had the energy to think and type more, cause mere common words do not suffice to explain our feelings with this experience. To add insult to injury I am six months pregnant having to deal with stress from store employees whose number one job is customer service, I would have never ever imagined. What I can say at the very least the disgusting behavior displayed by these two employees are not aligned with the Dollar Mission statement and Corporate values. Patty, the assistant manager makes up her own store policies regarding exchanges. She was very rude and condescending when saying no food items can be exchanged for any reason. No where on the corporate policy website does it say you can't return an unopened food item. Completely disrespectful, she seems like she has lost her marbles and should be in a mental hospital. Do not go to this crappy location because you will be talked down to like you are dirt. Dollar tree has lost my valuable patronage and business FOREVER. All over $10, shameful. read more

My local Dollar Tree is my go-to store when I'm looking for party supplies, paper goods, and random odds and ends. I've found great deals on gardening supplies, greeting cards, balloons, coloring books and toys, and LOTS more. There aisles are always well stocked and organized at this location, so shopping is easy. They also always have great seasonal products to shop so you can get ready for your Fourth of July party, Easter party, or Super Bowl party when the time comes. Love this place! The staff in this store are so cranky and mean! There were 3 cashiers standing around talking and 1 ringing. The line was super long so I asked the group if there was anyway someone could open and ring my 3 items up. The cashiers all gave me evil stares and then one reluctantly came over and complained loudly about me the entire time they were ringing me up (the nerve of this girl etc etc). It was so awkward and unprofessional. I have been highly disappointed by their treatment of customers before but this took it to a whole other level. Hi I've been to numerous Dollar Tress and they were just OK. I moved to Wilmington and I thought this was the best one I was in, It was the most organized and everything I bought worked well. I also noticed that the employees were always very helpful, I was use to getting a lot of eye rolling because they didn't want to help, but one day 2 different employees came to me and asked if I needed anything so that won me over, the only complaint I have is it doesn't open early enough everyone I went to in the past opened by 8:00a.m and your store was 9:00a.m. other than that I love it & will always keep coming back. read more

was checked out by assistant manager who rang one item twice and overcharged me a dollar. when i asked for the dollar back she made me wait 15 minutes while she counted out all her cash in her drawer (i paid with a credit card), then she said there was no discrepancy and basically called me a liar. when i refused to leave until she rectified her error she called the police to have me removed. all for a dollar! so dollar tree stores won my dollar, but lost my business forever. good business practice? also the store was a filthy disgraceful dump, like building 19 on it's worst day. read more
