What concerns me is the amount of boxes ALL OVER THE STORE! No exaggeration, almost every aisle had stacks of boxes filled with merchandise that needed to be stocked. It was difficult to shop in. Shopping carts could not fit through every aisle. WORST THING: walls of boxes COMPLETELY BLOCKED THE FIRE EXITS! This is a big deal. If there was an emergency (including a robbery, active shooter, etc) customers would be trapped! I've only shopped here once, so I don't know if this is normal or an outlier? All the freight contributed to a messy store appearance. But the few workers were working hard to restock the shelves. They didn't have the item I needed ... but maybe it was in a box somewhere!!! Clearance shelves had regular priced items on the 11 products I actually scanned. I guess clearanced shelves are used as extra space for extra products. I picked up clearanced Halloween items, gum, and toothpastes. I had a digital coupon for the gum and two paper manufacturer's coupons to use on the toothpastes. The employee started to check out the products, stopped to text on his phone. Then he was on a call to a few other Dollar General stores warning them and said pull your Halloween stuff, penny shoppers are out. Three customers were in line behind me waiting. The employee started back ringing up the items I was waiting to pay for the products after using my coupons. I put my phone number in to get digital coupon off then handed him my two manufacturer's coupons for toothpastes. He scanned them, folded them, and slid it in the slot for coupons on his register. He turned and asked me for the tooth paste. I searched the bags and gave him one. He then looked for the toothpaste on his monitor. He turned and told me I got the wrong toothpaste because the 3 D white toothpaste I grabbed cost $1 each and my coupon was for $2 off. I said ok. He mumbled something. He let me pay for the products and ripped receipt while trying to give it to me. Mumbled something again. I just left.

This is the absolute WORST Family Dollar in the city of Memphis. They will have a line as long as…read morethe store and refuse to open up another register. It is messy, hard to get through aisles, and there are always stock on the floor. The cashiers answer their personal cell phone while they are ringing up customers, very unprofessional.
