During my visit, I saw a wide variety of merchandise. I saw couches, rugs, electric fireplaces, clothing, shoes, children's toys, bedding and other linens, cleaning supplies, foods and beverages, health and beauty products, pet supplies, small electronics, holiday decorations, etcetera. I specifically looked for kitchen towels and slippers, but I did not find any in either my preferred color or size. Instead, I ended up buying only a toothbrush, toothpaste, and wrapping paper. I felt surprised that the large roll of wrapping paper was on clearance for only $0.74! The cashier accurately rang up my merchandise, and she gave me change for my small purchase. I must admit that the couches here were comfortable and cost only a few hundred dollars. Perhaps I should buy another couch for my basement...

Big Lots has an impressive selection of everything under the sun that you might want…read more Unfortunately, their inventory management is so poor that if you are looking for something specific they claim to have, you will never find it. Came here with a simple goal: find Archway Molasses Cookies (the original regular kind, not the iced kind), an item their online portal claimed this location had plenty of. When I visited to try to find them, it was a pain to even find where the cookies were in general, let alone the Archway varieties. When I did locate them, the one I wanted was not to be found. I waited in line in the front of the store only to be told that they could not look up my item, and I had to go check with the employee in their furniture area. If that makes sense to you, you're a better man/woman than I. The furniture section employee was kind enough to check to see if there were any in the back, though after ten minutes he returned to say that there weren't any and their numbers must be wrong. So, this begs the question: what is the point of even having an online, customer-facing inventory if the store makes no effort to keep it up to date? This is a problem that seems to be prevalent in many brick and mortar stores these days, which should tell you something about the future of such entities. Given my experience with this, I doubt I will return to a Big Lots any time soon. It shouldn't be this hard for a customer to hunt down a product. Overall: 3.0 stars --- Pros: - Good overall selection of goods, though it was mostly in disarray. - Plenty of parking in the lot outside. - Nice of the furniture section guy to check for us... Cons: - ...though I'm still unclear why the cashier couldn't check when we had waited a while to get up to them. - The Big Lots inventory management system is less than useless, and it takes a conscientious team to make it work.

However, I got a deal on a nice office chair and a brand new pot! The offerings are quite good - and the staff is helpful, answering questions as it was the first time I had been there. With regard to the reviewer who mentioned price: everyone's going up! I want to blame the resellers, but I think it's just everything going up. Compared to other places, the prices seem to be about the same. So everything's going up - and the number of people this store serves (helps the homeless) are growing, so the need is growing.

Even if that's not the same title given to the firm- they come in convince management they can "save" them and earn them so much more money, charge huge fees and don't give a damn about bankrupting them. They are in their to steal the capital. They don't care about the community and all the multitude of reasons this establishment was in existence. And especially a firm from Tennessee in PA. I know that from living there 25 years now as a "Northerner." When I heard why stores were shutting down and saw how they were running them, It was sickening. So sad that so many are so unaware of the corruption out there. And it is probably all perfectly legal according to laws of by and for the wealthy. I'm so sorry management fell for this. In past few years I was able to purchase some really great items for my home when I finally get moved back to PA. When clients get so disappointed and disgusted, I doubt they'll be pulling in great donations. So sad. Maybe they can find a way out of this to recover for the community. True Goodwills prices have gone up too much. But you can still get multiple discounts for different people on different days. And at least they're still stocked. I wish the best for City Missions recovery. I also wanted to mention the thrift store in Uniontown is so poorly stocked. And the layout of what is there is a mess and the clothes (which is a far less amount) are jammed so tightly together on less racks you can't even go through them. I just walked out. Sorry but it's true.
