Most items now start at $1.25, with many products priced at $1.50, $1.75, or even higher. Like many retailers, inflation has resulted in smaller product sizes while prices continue to increase, so you don't always get the same value you once did. This Dollar Tree is conveniently located in a shopping center in Redwood City with plenty of parking, which makes stopping by quick and easy. It's also only about five minutes from the freeway and just a couple of minutes from downtown Redwood City, making it a convenient place to grab a few essentials. That said, the store itself could use some improvement. The cleanliness isn't the best, and the selection feels more limited compared to other Dollar Tree locations. While it's in a prime location, it doesn't offer the same variety of products that I've found at other stores, which is a little disappointing. The shopping center has also seen better days. Several businesses have closed over the years, and it feels like this Dollar Tree should be one of the stores helping bring more customers and energy back to the area. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite live up to that potential. On the positive side, the staff was friendly and helpful during my visit. You can also tell they're dealing with a high volume of customers, and the workload seems to have taken its toll. Even so, they remained courteous and did their best to assist shoppers. Overall, I'm giving this location 3 out of 5 stars. It's certainly not the worst Dollar Tree I've visited, and there's plenty of room for growth and improvement. The convenience and easy access make it a good option when I'm nearby, but if I had other choices, this probably wouldn't be my first or even second pick.

The line for checkout was relatively quick. They take NFC payments at checkout for quick and easy service!

These days, I am unfortunately down to one or two visits a month, but I still walk in with the same feeling: what completely random, wonderful thing am I going to find today? And oh, the things I have found. Fizzy Harmless Harvest. Remedy chocolate smoothies. Shaka Harry momos and kheema matar. Navitas goji berries. Imagine chicken bone broth for half the usual price. Really good sauces, nut butters, cheeses, and wines that make you wonder why you have been paying full price elsewhere. Of course, the trick with Grocery Outlet is that when you find something you love, you cannot calmly tell yourself you will come back next week. Next week it may be gone forever. So you buy three, feel slightly unhinged, and later congratulate yourself for having excellent judgment. I saw some hats I liked in a box marked $2 each, she told me that only some of the hats were that price. I found a kid's sweater that was from the 1990s and showed wear, she wanted $10 for it because it was apparently designer. Seriously?!? Also my sweetie wanted to buy a doll for his mother for mother's day and again the store owner had to compare pricing for it online. She gave him a price but would not budge on the price, my sweetie and I debated about it...was it worth it? Could we find another collectible doll at a different thrift store for less? Well my sweetie ended up buying it. His mom loved it. But we both think there are better deals elsewhere. I also have a feeling that the owner here sizes people up to see by how they dress and act to determine the price she would sell the item to them. This small thrift store is hidden in the back behind other businesses. I get the impression that most items for sale here have been in the store for years. There is an awesome collection of vintage phones but who wants an old landline phone? There are not only worn out shoes, but clothing that has seen better days. The aisles are cluttered, narrow and cramped. It is difficult to walk through them. Also as there is no fitting rooms, there should have been at least a long mirror to see yourself while trying on clothing, but there was none. When you buy used clothing, you are taking a huge chance as clothing can have shrunk, have unraveled stitching, stains, alterations, cigarette or sweat smell, have holes and other issues- trying on clothing is the best way to examine clothing before purchase. There is no way to do that here. I would not even know where i could simply stand with a few chosen articles of clothing to try on over my own clothing here. As I said, my sweetie and I were the only customers in the store at the time. I get the impression as well that it does not get much business at least lately. And yet, her prices are generally high. They sell whole bunch of stuff, kitchen ware, medical stuff like masks, splints, pads etc. It gets REALLY cold inside, no heating whatsoever so make sure you bundle up so you can enjoy shopping. They also have small appliances, dresses, tiles, and more. I think it's a family run business. Everyone is super nice and helpful. They accepts cards for payment but cash is king here. Make sure you go to the ATM prior so you get an even better deal!

Thankfully, we went to Ross when it was close to closing hours. There was no crowd, the aisles were easy-to-navigate, lines where short and moving quick, and the employees where friendly, efficient, and courteous. Overall, a great experience at Ross! Their housewares is surprisingly fun to browse and I have found myself buying random stuff like trash cans, kitchen towels, and cat cardboard scratchers. Their (women's) clothing has always been subpar with weird / unknown brands or very last season American Eagle clothing (and equivalent). Sometimes their bag section surprises me though. I often find Puma and Adidas stuff that looks rather decent. The occasional Michael Kors / Kate Spade shows up sometimes too. A lot of Betsy Johnson and equivalent brands here.
