I always enjoyed shopping here. And it is located next to one of my favorite eateries. Such a large variety of items for sale. Staff were friwndly. It just needs a bit more TLC, such as bring out the broom, and orhanize the shelfs more often. I took my best friend and and his wife here. She was amazed at the priced. In fact, she filled her grocery cart with 84 items, and her totol bill came to $84. No where else is that going to happen. read more

Disrespectful cashier!! Just stopped at the Dollar Tree for a few items. My cashier did not have change enough yet for the bill I had. He called over to the medium aged cashier at the first register, but she didn't have any either. She proceeded to talk to all those nearby about how "some people think they can use them as a bank,...." I stated that it was rude to talk about me and wanted to report her to a manager, but I felt that wouldn't get anywhere. There are many other options when it comes to dollar stores. read more

Only come here if your not in a hurry. Be prepared to wait. The main difference between this store and the 99 cent store down the street is their cashiers. Here they're all slow as molasses. They act like they have all day to check you out. I've been here several times with several different cashiers and it's always the same. Their customer service is bleak. No greetings and not much help finding stuff your pretty much on your own. We get it, you get paid by the hour but we don't get paid to wait for your inefficiency. In comparison with the 99 cent store whose cashiers work hard and fast to get you out the door asap. Plus they always have more lines open, not two. The one good thing is this store is bigger than others and has more merchandise to choose from. Lots of different things the other stores don't have. read more

Tracy is an absolutely horrible person. She makes fun of customers she tried being rude to me but I set her straight. I used to come in and spend $50-$100 everytime but if I walk in and see Tracy I just leave and spend my money elsewhere I cannot believe she is still there because the interaction I had with her was years ago. As a customer at this store and a former customer service employee, I'd expect for everyone to be treated with respect and dignity. As I was line today waiting to be attended Tracy had the audacity to tell me, "I had to spray febreze because they smelled" as the family (of color) walked out and tried explaining it to her coworker. 10/13/19 Oh, my gosh! The condition of this store was unacceptable! The floor was littered with items and trash! A store shouldn't look like this! There was an obvious lack of management and the few workers there were at the registers (long lines)...or somewhere else. Find a broom and a trash bin, push everything on the floor to the center of the aisles, scoop them up, and toss them away! The items on the shelves appeared somewhat organized, but overall, the store was unkempt, dirty and unsanitary. read more

This dollar tree store is a disaster. It used to be clean, but obviously there's been some change in management over the last year or two. If you enjoy picking up items off the floor and buying them, you'll love this place. Otherwise go to one of the other stores in town, there's 2 other dollar tree stores in Salinas that are both much nicer. read more

It's hard to recommend this place when it's so disorganized half the time. They have good inventory but Don't keep it clean I recommend going to the Davis location or 99 cents only Wich is a block away, or hopefully they can fix these issues. read more

On or about 10:45AM, Sunday, 9/8/2019, I stopped at the Dollar Tree store, 1441 N. Main Salinas for an ice cream for one senior citizen as a gift. I picked it up, waited in line for 15 minutes. There were two lines were open, each line there were more than 10 customers waiting. On line 1, the cashier (female) was talking to the couple, they knew each other, talking about cats, dogs, and other things, holding the line; my 15 minutes waiting time was something NOT acceptable to myself. Finally, I approached the cashier, "Ma'am, look at the line, I have been in line for 15 minutes, could you handle the social visit later after work, These customers are waiting, I am waiting." She replied, "it is non of your business. I want to talk to her whatever I want to talk to her." A few minutes later, I asked one of the floor staff, I wanted to talk to the store manager. He arrived in front of this line one, he seemed upset. I informed him, if I could talk to him after I paid for this ice cream in PRIVATE. He said, "I talk to you right here". Finally, after 20 minutes waiting because of her, cashier's social visit instead of serving the rest of the customers, paid, and approached the store manager (Mr. Archer). He was standing in front of the two lines-open, and all the customers are watching; I started to say, "the cashier in line one, having social visit,..." I even did not finish the sentence, Mr. Archer, disrespectfully, aggressively, put the fingers on my face, and said, "you listen, Mr. we are engaging in our customers.. ". The way he was approaching me with the attitudes associated with the violent manner, to deviate the situation, I simply walked out. In Sum, Mr. Archer is misunderstood store manger. He creates the violent behavior instead of listen to the customer who humbly and respectfully approaching him. Mr. Archer does not understand the core value of the customers. He should read the business communication textbook. He should NOT be a store manager. read more

This afternoon my sister and I went to this Dollar Tree and the customer service was the worst. When we were paying for the products the employee Stacy was extremely rude, she scanned one of our products and then simply threw it to the other side. I have shopped at many dollar tress in other states besides California. I can honestly say this is the dirtiest, nastiest one I have ever been to. Carpets are dirty, merchandise is thrown all over the floor, and you rarely can get a basket. Business management 101 should be implemented! read more

When I first came across this store one day in 2001, I wasn't yet familiar with this chain, then learned that there would be one coming to Hollister later that year (I was one of the first people to work at the Hollister store). When I first entered the Salinas store, I was impressed by the selection. I still enjoy going to this store (any of these stores). This is a rather large one. read more

Pretty good deals. Place gets dirty and torn up on a regular basis. Lines can get long sometimes, but in general better then the 99 Cent only store. Open until 10 pm, close, and convenient. Manager is OK, employees don't care. It's not like they are on commission and your dropping big bucks. read more

The Salinas Dollar Tree has nasty looking carpets, the bathrooms are filthy and all the food racks are in poor condition. I can't believe it's still open to the public. It's a shame because it gives the other Dollar Tree stores a bad mark. read more
