I honestly think they should just rebrand at this point--maybe call themselves "Five and Below" and…read morepartner with Five Below--because this is definitely not a dollar store anymore. Prices are all over the place now. I've seen items for $1.25, $1.50, $1.75... and without even thinking, I grabbed some Easter string decorations that ended up being $5 each. I didn't realize until checkout, which was pretty frustrating. The whole point of going to a dollar store used to be that you didn't have to think about prices--you could just grab a few cheap, simple things and go. Now it feels like you have to double-check everything, which kind of defeats the purpose. If I wanted to carefully compare prices or pay more for items, I'd just go somewhere else. Even places like Goodwill don't always feel like a deal anymore, so it's disappointing to see dollar stores heading in the same direction. At the end of the day, this just doesn't feel like a "dollar store" experience anymore.

I happened to be working out nearby, realized I'd driven past this market countless times, and figured it was the perfect opportunity to stop in. As soon as I walked inside, I spotted a freezer right by the register packed with Asia ice creams I'd never seen before. There were so many unique flavors that it was honestly hard not to grab one of everything. I ended up picking a nice variety, and I can't wait to work my way through them at home. The man behind the counter was incredibly friendly, and we chatted for a few minutes. I asked him which flavor was his favorite, and without hesitation he recommended the mango and the strawberry. Coincidentally, those were the two I was most excited to try as well. I didn't spend much time browsing the rest of the store because I was completely focused on my ice cream haul and getting it home before it melted. From what I did see, though, they seemed to have a great selection of Asian groceries and specialty products. I'll definitely be back to explore the aisles on another visit. It's always fun discovering foods from other cultures and trying something different. Experiences like this are a nice reminder that there's a whole world of flavors beyond the everyday foods most of us are used to.

He came up with the idea for a charity in response to a fellow classmates question, what is your church doing for the poor? The group chose St. V\incent de Paul, patron saint of the poor for their name and under the guidance of Sister Rosalie Rendu, they increased the number of people they were able to help. Volunteers of the organization are called Vincentians. The charity spread from France to Europe. In 1845 they established in St. Louis, Missouri. The organization is now world wide in 150 countries with 750,000 members. Every year across the country the St. Vincent De Paul Society provides 1.4 billion in aid to more than 4 million people every year. The store is staffed by volunteers and proceeds go to providing food and clothing, housing, rent and utility assistance, to the Port St. Lucie community. They sell donated furniture, household goods, lamps, small appliances, art collectibles, books, CD's, clothes, and accessories. Also, the fact that they encourage you to leave your items inside or on the curb and then bring your car into the fire lane is even worse. Imagine blocking the fire truck from tending to an emergency while you are loading your items!! I believe wholeheartedly that this is something that needs to change. It's like saying to your customers, "we got you while you're inside spending your money with us but as soon as you have made your purchases, you're on your own!" They have no one helping you put things in the car, they don't care if it's raining, if your items get stolen, if you have a full cart...that's not their business. And that to me is insane! Burlington you really need to care more for your customers. Watching your elderly customers trying to lug huge bags to their cars is not a good look for you as a corporation. Hire a cart person!! Collect your carts! It's that's simple. I also had an experience with a so called manager. There was an item that was a little damaged. It still worked though. I had been looking for one for a long time and so I decided to get it and have my hubby fix it. It was full priced though and it was the last one. I know that in this situation the store will give a small discount so I asked the cashier. She called the manager. He arrived, she told him the issue. He said NOTHING just angrily punched in the 10% discount as if it was being taken from his personal pocket right then and there. I thanked him and he huffed away without uttering one word. Zero customer care at all!!! It's not like I was being rude or mean...I just knew that we'd have to make a repair to the item so cut the customer some slack! There should have already been a clearance sticker on the item to begin with.
