She has bathroom issues the requires her to carry extra underwear and pads in her purse. What little enjoyment she has is coming to your store to get out a little and see things as much as she can till we walked into your store. We were told to put our purses in the locker or we couldn't enter! My mom tried to tell the lady without announcing to the whole world the she has bathroom issues and carries appropriate things and a lot of times she doesn't have time to go to a locker and get a purse with 1 blind eye and was told she couldn't shop unless she did. Have you ever tried to maneuver an 86 year old, blind in 1 eye with bathroom issues while carrying my phone, wallet, reading glasses along with my mother's wallet, phone, glasses, underwear and pads while shopping?! Impossible! My mother has spent a lot of money in your store to have her degraded and totally embarrassed by your employee. When I got to the store to pick it up the manager instructed me to pay again at the counter. I explained I had already paid but he insisted. Said their system was down. I inserted my credit card and paid again. When I was at the store yesterday I asked to speak to the store manager regarding another issue and an assistant came up front instead and didnt know anything about my issue so I proceeded to request the store manager once again and once again he sent his assistant. His assistant said he was busy. Too busy to speak to a customer??? So my issue yesterday was that I purchased a mattress on 7/6/2024 at 1:45 pm during the store 1 day sale of 30% off. When I purchased this mattress I was told that for every $100 I spent I would receive a $10 coupon. I did receive a coupon for $20 off of $40! I was not told that I had to spend additional money to receive my coupon earned. I ended up having to walk over to the store manager myself to speak to him. I asked him why he didn't come speak to me initially and his response was he was busy trying to get back $1100 that he didn't have. Poor customer service? As I was speaking to him I brought up the issue about the rug and I would be safe in saying he was the store manager that helped me but of course he knew nothing about it. He went on to tell me that any purchase made online does NOT reflect in the store! What???? My suggestion is that the employees be trained and get a new Store Manager! I also noticed on my last two receipts dated 7/6/24, that Big Lots wants me to take a customer survey for a chance to win $1000. It goes on to say the sweepstakes ended on 6/22/24. I like the wide aisles that have plenty of room to pass other shoppers without invading personal space. The store clerks are very friendly and helpful. One lady in particular, whose name is Cindy is an exceptional worker in the cashier lane. This lady made me aware of the discounts offered and coupons that are emailed to me monthly. I never had a cashier that let me in on the perks like Cindy. The other clerk that has been at Big Lots for several years is Joy; she knows her stuff. I go for her lane when it's not Cindy's day. I try to go through Cindy's lane when I have my Japanese aunt with me. She said she never had a store clerk that she understood. The furniture department is pretty quiet and peaceful. I tested out their mattress selection one day and fell asleep only to wake up to nobody knowing I had nodded off. I like the fact that the employees mind their own business and don't stalk and follow me around like I'm going to cause shenanigans or something. The layout is efficient, and assistance needed is minimal. Good place to get gifts or "a little something" to share with a friend. Overall, I think the shopping experience is stress free, and get in and out easily.. UNLESS it is SALE day! Go either early or late because all the grumpy women seem to shop on that day. I stop at the liquor store next door to fill up my mug, or Brass Key before shopping when it is SALE day. The whole routine is much better.

I wish they would focus on actual good brands but like TJ Maxx and Marshalls there is a tendency for about half the items to be Chinese knockoff styles and some of the fashion cuisine isn't quite my taste. That's OK, I show for that other random percentage of quality Brazilian crafted carbon steel cookware, men's personal care, and accessories brings me back, a Denim and Flower button up summer shirt, Nike athletic shorts, shoes, woops let's not kid ourself there are no good shoes here!
