I haven't been to this Dollar Tree in such a long time but I had to come here for some Easter shopping. I'm surprised at the things you can get for a dollar like pregnancy tests and Marijuana tests but this place has a great selection of items for the barest of all budgets. It's always changing with seasons too. You're not going to find name brand items or knock off versions. You're going to settle for 3rd or 4th best. read more

The only reason I didn't give this store 1-star is due to how bad I felt for the only employee working there last night. Let's start with the gas like smell that the entire store reeked of.... The smell that was so toxic seemed to be coming from the vents. Several customers left their items and headed to the door. The employee working was the only one there and kept assuring that the smell was from the new floors being installed. Now let's talk about the line..... I waited a good 20min. The store phone kept ringing, customers complaining of the toxic smells, and the poor cashier all alone. I did call the 800 number provided. My note to the owner/manager. So many great finds! I come here on a regular basis for things like greeting cards, Tupperware, foil baking pans and envelopes. Also a great place for bobby pins and elastic hair ties which always seem to disappear in my house! One time items such as ziploc bags, straws, gift bags/tissue paper and batteries are also a great find here. They have aisles of food items and a refrigerated section but it's mainly off brand and not the best quality. Also a lot of canned and processed foods which I generally try to stay away from. Good place for candy though, especially for piñata filling and favors bag purposes! read more

Worst customer service experience of my life. I wish I could give negative stars. I understand that these employees probably receive minimum wage and they work at a dollar store, but I have worked minimum wage retail/customer service jobs and I believe that regardless of what you're making, you have a job and you should constantly be working to keep your job and do well at it. I found everything okay, the store was clean and organized, I didn't need any help (none was offered, but I wasn't there long). I got in line and ended up being checked out by the rudest employee I've ever encountered, named Karla. So she didn't greet me or ask if I found everything alright or anything. Rude. I heard her ask the person before me for her ID for her credit card so I gave her them right away and she said (with attitude) she needed a government ID. I was confused because I gave her my military ID. So I looked at her and I'm sure I looked confused because I was and she was like (with extra attitude) "I see you looking at me all crazy but I need a government ID.". I told her it was government issued. I thought she thought it was a school ID or some other lesser form of identification. Then she was like (with growing attitude) "I know this is a military ID. I need a state ID or something." I was like okay...so I gave her my license and I was mad because of her attitude so she could probably tell I was mad then she goes on to tell (in such a RUDE manner) me that's how she was trained and that's what she needs and blah blah blah and she just stares at me and then asks me (in a rude, sarcastic manner) if she can do her job! I was like uh yeah. So she looks and my cards and does she hand them to me? No. She gives me a look and then tosses them onto the counter. I was like okay bitch. So I put them in my wallet cause I thought she slid my card and then she was like uh, slide your card. So I was pissed at this point and asked my husband to fuckin pay. And I walked out. I chose to go stand in the cold, windy rain instead of deal with her ass. Mind you, I'm from San Diego, so it was the coldest weather I'd ever been in! I was PISSED. I got her name (which I had to get from the receipt because she didn't have her name tag on) and did the phone survey, sent an email, and called her supervisor. I was livid. When I called her supervisor, he stood up for her at first, which I understand. I work in customer service, and you want to listen to the customer, but it is important to make your employees feel like you believe in them. Normally that would be fine, but in this case, I was like fuck that. I pointed out again how rude she was and what happened and he told me he would talk to her. He did say that the employees are trained to ask for a particular kind of ID because they need one that has a birthdate on it. I'm not very confident that he will talk to her because he seemed rather irritated with my call, but who knows. He might. My military ID says "PROPERTY OF US GOVERNMENT" and has my birthdate on it. Asking for a state issued ID instead of a government ID would be a lot more accurate and although I still would have been confused, I would have been a lot less confused and known exactly what she wanted from me. Why is a birthdate relevant to a credit card? I use my military ID at my local Dollar Tree locations (and every other place in which I need to show an ID) and I've never had a problem before and they don't even require an ID unless you spend more than a certain amount (I can't remember if it's $10 or $20). I spent $4.35 here. It was $4.35 more than I should have spent and I regret spending every penny. Irrelevant because this is just opinion based, but my husband and my friend who were with me said afterwords that they halfway thought she was going to fight me. Then again, I do frequent the dumpy dollar store at 84th and Cicero which frequently causes me to lose faith in humanity. Anyways, store was clean and well stocked. this review is for the dollar tree on 7438 so cicero. i can't tell you the complete splendors of this dollar tree. it is just when you think you have found the ultimate valuable items they come with more. the vegan selection with the regular general merchandise is simply wonderful. but my review is pertaining to the customer service in this particular dollar tree. i purchase the green dot credit cards constantly to pay car notes cell phone bill etc. i forgot my code or password number to the particular card that i was using. this was about 9 am . the young lady had to void the merchandise out about three times. i had to go to the car call and try and get the code, i had to be online . she had to go over and over the transaction at least three times .she was so patient nd so reassuring , it was amazing as well as comforting. dollar tree i want to thank you for this location. the workers and the managers equally are fantastic in their customer service skills. if you go to this location you will always receive some of the most patint and wonderful and friendly workers. you will not be dissatisfied in the treatment in this particular dollar tree. satisfaction is guaranteed at this particular dollar tree. it is a treat to go and spend your money and always get exceptional service. thank you dollar tree and dollar tree employees thank ou read more

Nice store. Very well stocked and priced. Terrible customer service. Probably the worst cashier I've dealt with. Just a nasty attitude. My teenage brother was patiently waiting for me to finish paying and the cashier scolded him for flipping through a blank notebook that was sitting in a box at the end of the register. The box was for donation but was not labeled. She then accused him saying he was "about to tear a sheet from the notebook". This cashier really seems to hate her job and dealing with people. She might be better off in the back of a fast food restaurant or maybe somewhere else that has no customer interaction. read more
