Walk in, and STRAIGHT TO THE BODY ODOR. This place reeks like an aversion to deodorant, and really cheap weed. Okay. So I'm giving this place a 3 star over the one down the street. Couple of reasons, less likely to get stabbed in the parking lot by a twacked out transient coming down from a helluva binge. Second, it IS nicer inside. The cashiers here suck and take forever, but that's because the customers are the only cashiers. Also I don't see any dollars hanging off of the trees. read more

I've always liked this Dollar tree location. Not too big and not too small and staff are always helpful and have a positive attitude. Store is also kept clean and usually stocked. Selection of items is also good. Nice to know that this location has gift cards racks. I'm not a big fan of self serve checkouts. Unlike their other locations, their three self checkout line can be long. Often times when it does, staff open a cashier line. You may find undesirable-looking people outside entrance area standing around, maybe asking for money. They seem to be harmless. Parking can be tight out in front of their store but the outdoor plaza has plenty of parking. read more

There are few employees here who are helpful recently encountered one named Natalie who did nothing but stand and look at her phone while people needed help at the self checkout. It was ridiculous. The few employees who are helpful are lovely opening the lane for people purchasing many of the same item to speed up checkout but this girl and a few others just obnoxiously exist and don't help whatever is on her phone must've been very entertaining didn't know stores paid employees to stand around and scroll and not help customers. read more

This Dollar Tree location is finally open. I think it opened last Friday. It took awhile but finally I got to check out this location. I definitely love this store. Everything was easy to find. This is located to close to where I work. I will be back. There's plenty of aisles and they have a lot such as greeting cards, food, snacks and drinks! I came for the food since I need snacks and lunch for the week. Everything is well organized. I literally can buy everything in the store! The lady working up front was nice and friendly. I'm surprised that it wasn't super busy when I went to pay for my items. Plenty of parking up front. It gets full fast but I was in and out. I highly recommend checking this location if you're on a budget like me! read more

This dollar tree is nice they always have nice items then eventually if you come back the week after there out of stock and most likely you wont see that item again. Im not complaing tho about the store or items ... but the manger lori she is so two faced she literally was so rude to us now all of a sudden shes nice and smiles because summer of 2019 her and her staff they discriminated against me and my sister ! being rude and inappropriate saying we need an adult in the store with us and acting all big and bad because my mom wasn't with us that day mind you i was not a some little child at all at the time who is rude and a stealer i always paid and treated everyone with respect! and was doing nothing wrong i come in this store all the time! and we were short one cent and they treated us like we were stealing totally embarrassed us and the manger Lori wasn't even at our register she shouted from across the store while with a customer like oh there always short with there money and you guys need to start bringing the correct amount wich was a lie bc i was only short once and i went to get my money out my purse and she said it in such a rude tone! and also stuff like and you guys next time need to come with an adult and we had one drink because we were extremely thirsty! its not like we had many of things! and more rude stuff and then her little rude disgusting other associates were shouting other some other rude things and they knew what they were doing because just happened my mother wasn't there that day and she always comes in there with us ! and its not like we come in there and are stealing i think they had customers stealing and thought it was us because hey for wtv reason it was still gross! and we even said we would go to our car to get the one cent treated us like some criminal ! and when she got confronted she acted like she never did it and like she would never say that to us we and i bet you they wouldn't treat anyone who walked in the store like that just disgusting! i dont know what for but there attitudes were absolutely disgusting that day and also the fact she is super unprofessional and still works here she literally was on the job talking about inappropriate stuff and just being not good for work and how she had her mom and whoever come up there and talk while shes working ! I love the store and most of the staff is respectful and actually treats you like a human. and i wasn't going to write this review because i truly love this store but its still upsets me to this day and like i said there was no apology just excuses from the manager! read more

Today was dollar trees grand opening. So I stopped by after work to finally check this place out. The store looks immaculate for now. Lol later on down the road let's see how immaculate it will stay. I went in just to look and I ended up buying 20 dollars worth of stuff. I find it awesome they finally have a dollar tree in IB. At least I know they'll have guaranteed fresh items. After going to multiple Dollar Trees in San Diego and being treated very rudely, this location was a breath of fresh air. Paulina was so courteous welcoming and helpful. Went the extra mile to make sure my glass items were carefully packed too! Thank you for being so much better than the rest! read more

WORST DOLLAR TREE EVER. I REPEAT, DO NOT GO HERE. I have no clue where they got their ENTIRE staff but let me start off by saying 1. Either none have been properly trained 2. None had any sort of customer service background or and if any job experience and or 3. They plain out don't care. I got scolded at by the cashier Bc apparently I took a box of nutrition bars from where they were being sold individually WHICH I DIDNT SINCE IT WAS ON THE SHELF WITH 10 more sold as one unit. THEN she has the nerve to say Oh then obviously someone didn't do their job right. Ok? So how is that my mistake? Calls the manager by screaming at the top of her lungs from the registers and he laughs in MY FACE saying well that wasn't our mistake either. So if it wasn't my mistake, and it wasn't your mistake, is there elves running around the store making these mistakes? Like come on. You're a store manager, take fault at the mistake that was done and correct it. Instead of pointing fingers. Your cashier PAOLA, said herself, someone isn't doing their job right. So what does that sounds like to you? A mistake by YOUR STAFF. This whole establishment is being run by a straight up clown. It's sad to see this as a part of imperial beach. read more

I WOULD RATHER PUT NO STARS!! But to submit this rating I had to apply a star. I just had the most horrible experience at the new Imperial Beach Dollar Tree! Never have I ever had a store employee from any store snatch something away from my kids and talk to them in a nasty and rude tone!!! A dollar tree employee today snatched a pen from my 6yr old child and told him "dont touch my pens." He picked the pen from a box that were for sale at the front register area. And she was sooooo nasty about it!!!! He was just looking being curious like a child is. I approached the employee telling her she didn't have to talk to a my child that way and if there was a problem I'm an adult she should have come to me. That is not how you deal with kids and definitely not good customer service. Instead of apologizing she continued to talk trash as I walked out. Nobody should deal with CRAPPY CUSTOMER SERVICE like that. Don't go to Imperial Beach Dollar Tree. Especially not with your kids they might get yelled at! Not a very family/ Kid friendly store!!!! Plus they don't have a lot anyway. Just your basics you can get anywhere else. Especially in a better Dollar Tree location where I've had amazing customer service and there good to me and my family.
