It's closed on Thursdays, and on Fridays they get new stuff. Seven dollars that day, and then the prices go down. I went on Monday and it was two dollars, I think it's $.50 on Wednesday. Walk in, and you basically see big tables full of crap. You are at a discount store, sorting through tables full of stuff. Some of it's kind of interesting. I ended up buying half a dozen things. I didn't really find what I was looking for, because the selection changes daily, if not hourly. But hey, two dollars for a six pack of pretty good ramen? Cool. Two dollars for a box of KN95 masks? Pretty good. Service was friendly. Place is clean. It's also not super crowded inside, with people or merchandise, at least on a day when it's not nuts like the actual Black Friday.

It's not just one or two items. They typically have a cart full of high-end purses, perfumes, clothing, and more. Today they took extra long to put a bin out and waited for the same group of oriental women to walk in and get positioned. A new bin went out immediately upon their arrival. Last Friday I tailed one of the oriental women into the store and scored several items which is atypical. I asked one of them if they knew the exact times that the bins were being put out today. Her response was that it was just a big coincidence that they walked in when the bin was being placed out randomly. This was the same woman that had FaceTimed the manager ( who happened to be of a similar background) in my presence a while back while we were waiting to get into the store. As a consumer, this is very bad business. I mentioned my dissatisfaction to the male manager as I left today. My advice is if you see oriental women entering the store follow them because they may know EXACTLY where things are going to be placed.

This location buys and sells both men's and women's clothing. Each location buys based on the area, so what may sell well/buy well here, may not be what you will find in other locations. For example, you'll find many more high end items in Dublin than in Hilliard. You may find jeans here for around ~$15/pair. Shirts ~$10-14 each. SELLING: * when you sell, you will get $ the day that you sell your items. This is similar to Platos Closet/Clothes Mentor, but unlike many of the Grandview consignment stores where you don't get $ until the store sells your item. I prefer getting my $ up front, so I appreciate that here. * You get ~30% of what they will sell your item for here, whereas you will get up to ~50% of sell price at the Grandview consignments for example. * You can also get store credit instead of cash here. In that case, they give you 25% more. Note that each Uptown is individually owned, so you can only use that store credit at the specific store you sell. *On average, you really only get $4-5 per item you sell here. * The wait time for selling your clothes is typically only ~5-15 minutes, and you're required to stay in store as they sort through on your first visit selling. BUYING: * note that you if you do return something, you can only get store credit or exchange for something in stores. They will not refund you. *Overall, pretty average. I don't really find much here, but my style fits the Clothes Mentor/Dublin style typically.

The entire encounter left me feeling quite dissatisfied, and I feel compelled to share my experience. Upon entering the store around 8:40 P.M., I was approached by a staff member named Stephan, who informed me that the fitting room would be closing in 3 minutes. I was aware that the fitting room typically closes about 15 minutes before the store's official closing time. Since I had no intention of trying on any clothes and just wanted to shop, I assumed I had ample time--18 minutes, to be exact. I quickly gathered a few items and proceeded to the cashier. There was another male customer waiting to make a purchase, as his wife was still browsing. He graciously allowed me to check out first. As shown by my receipt, my check out time was 8:54P.M. , 6 minute before the store closed. However, Stephan's demeanor was less than welcoming. He greeted me with a cold and unfriendly stare, followed by a stern warning that if I arrived late again, he would refuse to ring up my items, adding that "the door was closed for a reason." I immediately apologized and explained, not once but twice, that I had thought the door might have been malfunctioning, as it was only 8:40 P.M. My intention was never to break any rules or disrupt the store's closing procedures. Unfortunately, Stephan remained persistently rude and unresponsive, seemingly intent on making me feel uncomfortable and guilty, despite my status as a paying customer purchasing merchandise totaling $270.71. I have a couple of concerns that I would like to address. Firstly, if the Hillard store has a policy of not allowing customers in 15-20 minutes before the official closing time at 9:00 P.M., it is imperative that they update their business hours to reflect this. I would not have visited the store had I known they shut customers out well before the listed closing time. The current business hours are misleading and could lead to other customers experiencing the same disappointment of being turned away after making a special effort to arrive before 9:00 P.M. Secondly, I was deeply disappointed by Stephan's handling of the situation, which I found to be profoundly unprofessional. If my late entry was unacceptable, he could have kindly requested that I leave. Instead, he chose to inform me of the fitting room's impending closure with a cold and uncooperative attitude. Even though I successfully completed my purchase by 8:54 P.M., he unjustly threatened to deny me service if I ever arrived late again. This kind of demeanor from a cashier is not what one expects when shopping. As a customer, nothing can make you feel more disheartened than offering a sincere apology and an explanation, only to be met with a frosty silence from a cashier who should be providing assistance and service. This experience left a sour taste in my mouth, and I sincerely hope that Discount Fashion Warehouse Hillard can address these concerns to ensure a more pleasant shopping experience for future customers.
