I will have to say the store looks super clean and it smells so amazing must have been all those fall candles and I had to pick up one myself. I was able to find me a fall candle to get ready for autumn three pins for work and a nice pair of PJs to look cute around the house. I had such a great time browsing the employees were super nice and helpful. You can check out yourself as well which I love. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but while out trying to gather some last minute holiday gifts/stocking stuffers decided to see what they had to offer. Walking in, I was a bit in awe, they truest have a lot to offer, everything from party supplies to home decor, plenty of candy and snack options to please even the pickiest of junk food eaters, they have storage and kitchen items, pet toys and supplies, greeting cards, board games and so much more! This store is packed with all kinds of items, at surprisingly low prices. It's a great spot to hit for small gifts or stocking stuffers, all kinds of items, sure to appeal to anyone. Staff was friendly, and check out seems to be self serve. Good first impression and somewhere I'll be coming back to check out again.

Wife was in Eastchester store this afternoon with a loaded cart…read more Approaching the counter, cashier barked out rudely "unload your cart". Wife responded loudly that cashier was not asking her appropriately. At that point manager came out and did not handle situation any better and told my Wife to leave. More words were exchanged. Upon leaving store I approached and witnessed manager handling situation not honoring my Wife's and cashier as a retail manager should. In addition manager had called police who handled it better but not until manager said for my Wife to never come into store again. Darn right we, and any of our friends, will NEVER come into this store again.

The employees are very nice, and I don't think they are the problem--you can only do so much with what you have. I was surprised when leaving the bank to see Big Lots was back open. After they had apparently…read moreclosed all of the stores, it seems someone else bought them and has started reopening them. This certainly isn't a store I shop at regularly by any means, but it's a great place to get heavily discounted items, snacks, cheap gifts for the holidays. We popped in real quick when we saw they were opened, and got a few things. But, just like before, they offer everything for food, to house wares and decor, to cleaning and gardening supplies, again, and heavily discounted prices. Perhaps everything is not the best quality, but for what it is, it's worth checking out. One downside is, the selection is constantly changing based on what they buy at closeout pricing, so if you see sometime, that's the time to get it, because it may not be there next time you visit. The staff is a bit of a hit or miss, it's clear they don't love their job, but need the pay check, so take everything for what it is, and don't expect the cheeriest of employees when you visit.

They've also got snacks, home cleaning supplies, school/craft supplies, home and home decor. With locations all over, they're a quick, convenient spot to drop into when you need a gallon of milk and don't want to deal with the big grocery stores and crowded parking lots. Not somewhere I shop day to day, but easy to get to in a pinch without breaking the bank!

For those of you not in the know, Roses is a local staple in the cheap department store arena. I…read morehave fond memories of going to a location near my house where you could find clothing, toys, household goods, all sorts of interesting things. This particular Roses isn't much different in that regard. If you're looking for unique "only in the South" type stuff, this is definitely a place to look for it. I've seen authentic mumus at a Roses along with religious Christmas decor (speaking of Christmas, this is also a good place to get decorations and wrapping paper) and am pretty sure I saw fruitcake being sold here. Customer service is average and this is not an upscale establishment but it definitely has gotten smaller since my youth. If you get the opportunity to go to one, you probably should just for the novelty of it.
