They have great sales and look for the closeouts. Sometimes Food Lion stops carrying certain variety of products. Once they do, they put them on the closeout. SUPER CHEAP! I was also pleasantly surprised to see that this food lion has more variety of foods. I love the newer self checkout options. There is always staff at the registers. Lines are never backed up. GREAT MANAGEMENT of this store! I will recommend this location over any other location in Durham.

I was under the illusion that this was going to be a bar style trivia, and it was actually more like LGBTQ/Local trivia. That's great for inclusivity I just had another idea in my head of what the situation might be like. The space is rather small without much seating so for trivia we had to get there early to grab a seat. The coffee bar has a lot of tasty offerings but the book selection is pretty limited and not the broadest selection but I'm sure for those it's aimed at it excels. The space is very cute and there's lots of ample parking outside. This is a lovely addition to south Durham which is lacking in coffee shops and third spaces.

But Ted made my exchange and sneaker selection easy. He was helpful and didn't act like he wanted to be anywhere else but at work. That's generally the energy you get from people at that store. Management sucks and so do the staff but Ted is one of kind and should run one of those stores before they lose all they're clientele to other locations. I got good prices on the shoes too. This is part of the Durham Rescue Mission chain of stores (I think there are two other thrift…read morestores in the area). I think it's the smallest one so the selection is not as wide as the other locations. In any case, you can still hunt for clothing, housewares, books, CDs, etc., here. We always donate our used items here, and you can drive around to the back to donate and get a receipt. Thrift stores are hit or miss, but I guess that's part of the allure. You just never know what you might find. I've gotten clothes and shoes here and have perused the housewares and CDs. If you're in this part of Durham, stop in and take a peek. PS, during COVID, they take your temperature before as you enter the store.
