Lady just locked doors at 8:58pm and wouldn't let me in. However, the store closes at 9:00pm. Ummmm the 99 cent only store will allow you to enter their store even one minute before closing. False advertisement. Does the store close at 8:58pm or 9:00pm? Customers should be able to enter until 9pm closing. Obey the store hours. read more

This particular Dollar Tree, apparently under the directions of corporate HQ, is violating the agreements it has with credit card companies. These "merchant agreements" are legally binding contracts. Any business that wants to accept credit cards must abide by them - period. No merchant can refuse to process a credit card transaction because the buyer does not show photo I.D. Even after email messages to a person in the Dollar Tree credit department, the company never acknowledged that it is breaching its merchant agreements. This store again refused to process my purchase. Know your rights. Never show I.D. when you pay by credit card, and when asked, politely decline, but if pushed, simply cancel your purchase and take your business elsewhere. read more

Cruising by the Target et al. area with my mom one night before Christmas I spied this Dollar Tree and made a quick swerve into the parking lot (smallish btw and shared with another business I think). My first impression? This store was hot as balls! Seriously. I am usually running on the cold end of the thermometer but immediately upon entering the store I was sweating. My only thought was to make a mad dash through the store. Smash and grab. Leave second thoughts for later because, afterall, everything costs 1 dollar and will I really regret an ill-advised purchase all that much? My mom was having a hot flash so she was operating under a similar game plan. Luckily this store is not that huge and even though my mom was acting like a kid in a candy store picking up just about everything and saying how much she needs/wants/etc each item we made it out in under 15 minutes. Probably 10. The girl working the register was not diggin' the excessive heat either. She mentioned that "someone" (management, maintenance, whomever) told her that the heating system had broken and that since we had previously been experiencing a particularly cold weather spell, the heater was stuck on one setting and would only be manually changed once a week or something ridiculous like that. You have been warned! read more

I witnessed appalling behavior from the store manager of this location yesterday, harassing and shaming a mother with a crying child. She even had the nerve to follow the mom out of the store and was either taking pictures or recording a video of her and her son. The mom was visibly shaken. As a mother myself, I was disgusted to witness such horrible behavior from the manager and I hope that the mother reports the incident to Dollar Tree corporate. read more

Been sitting outside the dollar tree store since 8 AM the store is still not open and it's already 9 o'clock in the morning people have come to the door and it's still not open lights are on sign says Monday through Saturday 8 AM to 9 PM bad for business people there should always be somebody to cover the registers or the store read more

The manager everyone is talking about on here, SHONTA IS VERY RUDE! She slams the items down on the conveyor belt and pounds the numbers on the register. She acts like she's in a very bad mood that you don't even want to ask her anything because she will reply very rude! I have been to all the Dollar Trees in the area and this store has the worse customer service ever! I hope to never go back to that location as long as she is working there. I almost left my items there and left without paying but I needed the items. With as many bad reviews about her, I'm surprised she hasn't been fired or changed her attitude! If you don't want to work there or if you're having a bad day, SUCK IT UP AND GET OVER IT! I'm sure there are lots of unemployed people waiting to take your job! I have already told all my friends not to go there anymore! Some have already experienced her rudeness and some haven't. Those who haven't, I told them drive a little further and go to another one. read more

They refused to exchange photo frames because "they have no plastic wrapping"... They didn't have any plastic wrapping on them when I bought them. The woman, without looking up from what she was doing, just said(with attitude), "how would we have sold it to?" Well... EVERYTHING IS A DOLLAR! It's not like you have to do a price check genius. They don't accept returns and they make a big deal over exchanges. I'm done with dollar tree, there are plenty of other stores that won't fuss over exchanges AND they'll accept returns. read more

Always clean..friendly staff...somewhat ok parking. Gotta love going to see what you can find for a dollar and end up leaving with a shopping cart of various things. read more

I went there to get 50 green balloons and they wouldn't sell them to me unless they were inflated. The girl said it was store policy and her manager told her that. I asked for the manager and she said the manager is not here and won't be here until tomorrow. What kind of stupid policy is this? They just lost a big sale. read more

I love this store. I'm so glad I found it. There is always super nice people here who are willing to help no matter what. You can find just about anything here and all for $1. read more

I normally like this store. They didnt have alot of stuff. I mean that i really needed. I need to find some of the other stores like this. I went to the one in florida and loved it. Wasnt to happy with this one read more

The sign outside the store says they open on Sundays at 8 am so I went and they were closed, so I checked the store's website and it says they open at 9 am on Sundays, so i got up early for no reason. I had to wait another hour!!! The store should update their sign so people won't show up for no reason. This needs to be fixed immediately! read more

The front of the store is piled with garbage, looks like rats are congregating. The line is wrapped around the store and the manager is rude as h#ll. She must be making .10cents an hour with hour rude and disrespectful she is. I'll never bring my elderly mother to shop here again. We asked if there was someone else who could check people out and the manager yelled over the loud speaker "I'm gonna need you all to be patient!" read more

I am in love with this store. I didn't realize there was an actual Dollar Tree so near me and it blows the other ones I've been to in other parts of the country out of the water. I don't notice that it's small or lacks selection at all. Anytime I need almost anything at Target I check to see if it's at Dollar Tree first. They have an excellent selection of glasses and home cleaning stuff and paper and cards, plus I was able to decorate for my Christmas party for $5. What I love the most is that their stuff isn't tacky or ugly for the most part. I got beer mugs that look good and Christmas cards/plates/cups that weren't tacky at all. Maybe it's gotten better since it first opened? read more

Nice size store but I like the Dollar Tree stores in Lakewood much better. Although the store was bigger, I didn't see anything here that id never seen in a Dollar Tree before. read more

I been to this store many times and its only because it's close to my job. But it's my last time coming here I will drive more miles if I have to, it's every time I come it's disappointing. The customer service from the cashiers/management is really poor. I really hope you guys do better in training. read more

I've been here many times and was tempted to give it three stars, but decided to go with two. They have a lot of crap at this store, and I mean crap. However, there are some useful essentials like cotton swabs and Pringles. I like that everything is $1, unlike the 99Cent store where most things are 99 cents but then there are a bunch of things that aren't (wtf?). Anyway the parking here is usually decent. Good selection for what it is. The lines however, are what bumped it down a star. For a place that theoretically shouldn't have to do price checks, the line sure does move slowly. They have 3 or 4 checkstands but I don't think I've ever seen more than one open. The other day I was in the loooong line, and a checker came and got the lady in front of me and took her to the next register. I was excited that they were actually opening another check out lane, so I followed, as did a couple of people behind me. I put my stuff down on the belt and waited as she checked out the woman in front of me. After a minute or two, the checker looked at me like I was an idiot and said "I'm not open." Oh of course not, why would I possibly think that? So I had to go back into my original line, now even longer (with me now at the back), and wait even longer. I get it that the staff members probably aren't super excited to be working there, but you don't have to be a d*** about it. That said, I'm sure I'll be back. read more

The cashier's and staff are helpful. The store is usually clean and not too busy. However, as a customer it is quite apparent that the higher management at this store is less hands on and concerned with the satisfaction and service of the customer. Check out could be more efficient and of course, employees who are happy work harder and perform better. Wouldn't hurt to pay them more. Just sayin read more

I really like this location. They get a bunch of random bulky stuff here. Bang for your buck. But things go quick, so if you have the free time, you stop by often to see what's new! I wish this location was closer to my house though... read more

I am from NJ, where there are DTs everywhere. This is the first one I've gone to in CA. I got a lot of things that I needed, but I could've gotten more of they had a bigger selection. Overall, the store was very clean and organized. They had the basic essentials. The only thing I was shocked about was their low variety of prayer candles. I'm a big fan of those, and they only had plain white ones. However, I did appreciate the ethnic hair care section. Would I shop here again? Yes. read more

Nice store, friendly register people but VERY rude manager lady! Customer service being the most important thing for me, I will shop at a different store. read more

I shopped at this location this afternoon and found the store very dirty inside and out. The floors were filthy, merchandise had fallen off the shelves, and the windows were dirty. Outside, the trash cans were overflowing and the parking lot was full of litter. I asked to speak to the manager and Liz came out to speak to me. I introduced myself, told her that I had been a long-time shopper, and that I've always enjoyed shopping there due to the prices and the proximity to my house. I expressed my opinion of the store to her and she said, "I'm aware of it". read more

there's no 99 cent store around this area so this is the next best thing. they have canned food, bathroom stuff, list goes on and on, and you can find it in the smallest of places as this places packs everything in. workers there are always nice. read more

I had never been to a Dollar Tree so I decided to check it out. This place is awesome! They have a huge selection of household supplies, beauty supplies, and they even have clothes, food and makeup! I was able to get a huge container of laundry soap for a dollar, along with much needed cleaning supplies that would have cost at least $5.00 to $10.00 each at the regular grocery store. The staff is friendly and the store is clean and organized. The line was short too, even though there were several customers in the store they get you through the line quickly. There were three lines open that day, which I appreciate because it shows that they are ready for a rush whenever one may pop up. read more

Woohooo!!! They finally opened up a dollar tree near my house...After reading other reviews on this location (mostly negative). I'd have to disagree since most are basing their negative review on the lack of items at this location. I didn't see a huge problem with this location aside from the size. I guess you can't make them all happy! This location is a bit small but nonetheless the items are organized and clean! I prefer shopping at dollar tree for the little knick knacks that I otherwise can't find at a local Target and best of all everything's a buck! I'm not a huge 99 cent store girl since most of them are pretty dirty and disorganized so I'm pretty happy to have found this gem in the neighborhood. read more

I went to the Dollar Tree yesterday to buy stickers for my children. I had told them that we were just going for stickers and not anything else before. My son had a tantrum in the store because he wanted me to buy something else. I told him that wasn't what we were there for and I would buy him the stickers. I ended up getting out of line due to his tantrum and left the items I was going to purchase on the counter. An employee proceeded to follow me out of the store. She took her phone out and started to take a video of me and my children who were on the ground crying. She said,"This is what happens when you don't tell your children no." In fact I had told my son no. I told her to stop taking the video of me and to stop shaming me. I had previously frequented this store for small items for my children. I will no longer go to this store and will advise other parents not to attend. I called after I got home to complain to the manager about the employee. Then I found out that it was in fact the manager who had followed me out and taken the video of me! The lack of respect for our privacy and dearth of empathy for my situation with my children was shocking. When I called back she said she was "Just playing with me." I told her to delete the video. She said that she already had. I certainly hope that is the case. read more

So i just left this dump. One register open on a saturday afternoon. The line was down the tooth brush isle. The workers there dont give 2 fuc#$ about ANYTHING the store, customers, the bathroom. Boxes all over the place. In the pepsi cooler theres mold in it. I rather drive to the INGLEWOOD store. read more

I love this store and i come often. It has tons of stuff and i always buy a ton. The staff is mostly nice. MOSTLY. Yesturday i go in to buy a few organization boxes and end up with a cart full. I always carry a big huge bag full of my reusable bags because its much easier that way. So i get to the checkout and i set my bag of bags on the end of the counter. The lady behind the counter tells me to open my bag and take out my bags and i tell her that i have a bunch of bags in there to take them out. She gets an attitude with me and tells me to open the bag and take them out. She proceeds to tell me well you will only need like 1 or 2 bags anyways. So i took out two bags and then she starts putting my stuff in the bags when she realizes it isnt gonna fit in two bags. So she complains that my bags are "too small" even though there the normal size of any reusable bag in any grocery store and the same size, actually even bigger, then her paper bags they are charging for. Why am i doing her job for her and being ordered around? I understand what its like to be a cashier because i am one but thats ridiculous. I could over look her telling me to open the bag but why did she have an attitude to begin with? A couple of them there do. If you hate your job at least pretend you like it in front of the customers and dont take it out on them because you have to do your job for them. Thats the whole point. read more

Rude, careless, and non-responsive. I purchased cups for my kindergarten students. They were going to be used as vases for a mother's day gift. The cup came with a lid, and apparently it came with straws too. The straws were not attached. They were behind other cups, and because the shelf was low they were not visible. I ended up purchasing 27 cups, lids but no straws. One of my colleagues had a cup and I noticed the straw. I returned to the store, but the manager wouldn't speak to me because I had no receipt and apparently she did not want to come out of her office/room. I got a duplicate emailed to me and 2 days later I returned to get the straws. As I imagined, the straws were gone. I went to see if they were in the shelf, but they only had 3 cups and no lids or straws. Yes, I could get my money back if I return the cups and lids, but they might say that the straws are missing. Ill swallow the loss of the straws, simply because my kids can still use the cups as vases. It would have been nice if their moms would have had the complete gift. :( wish Patty the manager would have listened to my concern at least. Will not shop here again. read more

My adult daughter and I went to Dollar Tree around 6:15 PM on Valentine's Day Eve. I must admit, it was quiet entertaining. The cashier got on the loud speaker and told all the customers that they are stressing out the cashiers because everyone is shopping last minute. She then told the customers to be patient and everyone was quite content waiting in line. I don't know what they expected the day before Valentines Day when MOST PEOPLE HAVE JOBS and work during the day and shop after work. Then she says, to all parents... please don't allow you kids to play in the toy section or the card section unsupervised. I was in the card section and there were no kids around, unsupervised in either section. Then she said that there are four lines, everyone is standing in one line and the line is so long that customers can't see that there are other lines open. I have been to other Dollar Tree stores and this is the only location that this happens at. I have witnessed this kind of behavior on other occasions. Perhaps the manager needs to disconnect the loud speaker. Doubt that management wants it used to insult paying customers. read more

The evolution of the marketing of the solar powered toy can be seen in it's latest iteration here, at the Dollar Tree. I first saw them in the windows of the Toy District shops in downtown Los Angeles, when I lived there. The units were selling for between 5 and 7 dollars. Then, Amazon became flooded with these toys, saving the customer from having to travel to a brick and mortar location, saving the customer also from parking meter fees. The drawback was these toys, being very cheap and notoriously inconsistent in quality, could easily arrive at the buyer's doorstep as a complete dud. Which brings us to the Dollar Tree. For only a dollar, and with the ability to scan the toys for the most vigorous and energetic examples, the Dollar Tree is currently the best option for collectors of these toys. They usually have these toys right inside the entrance, where the morning sun can reach and activate them. Choose the ones most vigorous, then put those vigorous ones towards the back of the display table. If they continue to move, then you have a keeper. read more

2nd time here and employees here are so rude, while my sister was getting a few stuff here. I kindly asked a manager (short light skinned Hispanic, idk her name she wasn't wearing a name badge) i asked for the key to the restroom and her response was "the restrooms are out of service" . While heading to the back I saw the restroom and the key hanging on the door knob. I went in btw the restrooms were super dirty. Long story short the bathroom was working not "out of service" like she said. So I got the key and told her "there goes your key, and your bathroom actually works" she sarcastically said "you have a good day mam" .....seconds later she says over the intercom that we had 10 min to shop. When it was 830 pm... The fuck ?! .... Like I get it ppl have bad days but now that's LAZY talk. All I asked was for a key to the restroom. And don't tell me for customers only, cause I bought something and my sister did too. read more
