In case you don't know, Dollar Tree is a popular chain where every item in the store is $1. Unlike other dollar stores, Dollar Tree has always kept the "Everything is $1" pricing. They sell generic brand items and smaller-quantity items to make that possible, but you can definitely find some great deals here - especially when it comes to books, kitchen gadgets, cereals, toys, party supplies, containers, dishes, and more.
PROS:
-Dollar Tree is always a great place to buy party supplies. They have the basics (cups, plates, etc.) in a multitude of colors. They have helium balloons (a dollar!), gift bags (dollar), greeting cards (dollar), gift bag tissue paper (dollar), etc. You get the idea. For something that's going to be tossed shortly after the party, if you can find the right colors/designs here, it's worth picking up the party favors and accessories here. Just be aware they only have solid colors and a very minimal selection of anything themed.
-Fantastic for seasonal purchases too. Seasonal merchandise rotates often, and you can pick up holiday decorations super cheap - including entertaining party favors or cheap treats/glassware. If you regularly want to change out various decorations in your home for other decorations that correspond with the next holiday, you'll save money here.
-This particular Dollar Tree is extremely new, and it was built into this brand-new strip mall. It's located next to Wal-mart and Target, so if you can't find the items you needed at Dollar Tree, a second stop isn't very far away.
-Store was clean and well-organized. The store follows a similar layout to most Dollar Tree stores out there.
CONS:
-You definitely do have to watch what you're buying. Some things are cheaper here than a regular store - and other things can get more expensive. I love to buy kitchen gadgets here, but buying single paper towels by the roll gets more expensive than regular paper towels very quickly.
-Very little brand-name stuff. You'll occasionally see some brand name stuff in smaller packaging (Such as a 2 count versus the brand's standard 6 count), but for the most part, Dollar Tree sells their own brands.
-Staff seemed a bit confused during check-out. It's possible that they're still new (since this store just opened), but they were having issues operating the register and scanning all of the products. read more
