I was at the check out today and the bigger lady was INCREDIBLY rude. Definitely do NOT recommend shopping here.

Why bother with shelves? Or cashiers? Or health mandates? This was a shocking experience and I left after encountering multiple unmasked customers. Perhaps this chaos is due to lack of staff, but it seems more to be lack of care. They're making money, so why bother? Many families supplement their food at this store, so I understand the need for a discount store, but this store is unsanitary. There is a clean, secure Dollar Tree just down the highway at Sehome. To the owner and management: Close for a few days & reconsider your model. read more

As with most dollar stores, Dollar Tree has a large selection of pretty much everything cheap under the sun. From seasonal decorations to kitchen items to cleaners, food, and bathroom stuff they've got you covered. But don't be fooled by the shiny $1 price tag! A smart shopper knows that a lot of their items can be found for cheaper at the regular grocery store. For example, on a recent trip I noticed they had Gatorade for $1. Um, you can get those at Winco for 88-cents. Same with crackers...Dollar Tree offers a tiny sleeve of them when you can get 4x the amount at any grocery store for about 25-cents more. But I digress. Obviously *you* are a smart shopper or you wouldn't be reading Yelp reviews, right? So let's just get down to it. I present here my list of the Top Five Items Worth Making A Trip to Dollar Tree: 1) Greeting cards: Most are 2-for-a-buck. I like to stock up so I always have the right card on hand for those sudden birthday parties the kids like to spring on me at the last minute. Speaking of which... 2) Gift bags: You pay a buck here for a bag that will easily cost you $3-4 at another store. And they have a wide selection for birthdays, baby showers, weddings, etc. Again, stock up! 3) Helium-filled balloons: Yes, they are only $1, they are already filled, and they have a streamer attached. On your way to see a friend at the hospital? Is it Valentine's Day? For a few bucks you can get a bouquet of balloons and a card and look like the coolest person on the planet! 4) Hair accessories: Bows, clips, scrunchies, Bobby pins, headbands, yadda yadda yadda. They are only $1, which will save you approximately $5 on each item vs. what most other stores (over)charge for the same exact stuff. 5) Stocking stuffers: You no longer have to live in fear of draining your retirement account on filling the family's hearth-hung socks on Christmas Eve. From lotion to shower gel to snacks to craft supplies "Santa" can go hog wild at the D-Tree and you can still dream of that old folks' ranch in Florida. Have fun! read more

My favorite part of a dollar store is hunting for name brand items. They carry them every once in a while and the thrill when you find them is fantastic. This Dollar Tree is not the nicest. It is kind of dirty and unkempt inside. I also run into the issue of thinking something is a bargain just because it is $1. That is not true at all, shopping here you have to be discerning if you want to get any value. On our last visit we did find Vigo rice and stocked up. This would run me over $2 at any grocery store. We also purchase tupperware and some cleaning items on a regular basis. I would check this place out more often if the store upkeep was better. Things tend to be just thrown around, and I am not sure how often things are actually cleaned. read more

I love the Dollar Tree, this one in particular. It's clean, organized and the staff are always friendly and helpful. TIP: this store has a frozen food section and also a refrigerator. They carry everything from frozen waffles, jack cheese to steaks...yes steaks! TIP 2: coupons, believe it or not the Dollar Tree will honour manufacturers coupons. Yes, if you're lucky you could walk out with an item for free or half off when using a coupon - make sure they're American coupons. My favorite purchases here are everyday items: cleaning supplies, sponges, freezer bags etc. And yes, even though our dollar is down the trip across the border was well worth it. read more

Very rude employees!!! YELLED at me many times for not wearing a mask in front of the whole packed store, yet I have a medical exemption, kept my distance and avoided people as much as possible. Never was asked if I needed a mask, just yelled at. Was only in the store about 3 min. After I left the register, two employee ladies talked crap about me as I was leaving. Never once have they mentioned about curbside pickup or options for those who certainly have medical exemptions. If I had a choice, I'd wear a mask, but it poses a big risk to my health. Very unprofessional and rude employees. Never want to step foot in that store. Thanks dollar tree for my first ever bad experience! read more

An excellent dollar tree. Great selection, friendly staff. I go here often. I think they're one of the bigger stores

As a dollar store, this store is good as it is well stocked and organized. I probably shop here only a couple of times a year. I usually only buy mylar balloons. They have a good number of different balloons, and they are ok quality. They are only $1 each anyways. Recently, Canadian friends told me the T.G.I. Friday's potato skins are available only in the US and they are available at a dollar store. So, I came here to pick up a couple of bags for them. Here comes the problem or what I call an ethical issue. At the cashier, I was asked if I would like to make a purchase for the local food bank. Of course, it was not the first time to be asked if I want to make a donation, but I immediately realized something is wrong with their system. So, a customer buys food items from the Dollar Tree, and they are donated to the food bank. What's wrong with this picture is that the Dollar Tree makes the full profit on the purchase of donation items. I know many businesses sometimes give up part of their sales, meaning that they give part of their profit to charities. On the other hand, the Dollar Tree makes regular sales on the donation items, meaning that they are making full a profit. Food banks accept cash donations, and some food banks appreciate cash donations because they do not have enough storage space, etc. If the Dollar Tree does not change its practice, I think the way to go is make cash donations to food banks directly. read more

This Dollar Tree location was fine to shop at, but we had a terrible check-out experience. The clerk, who's name I regrettably didn't get, was an older man who immediately started to bombard my friend and I with blonde "jokes" when we stepped up to the register. Joke after joke -- he was cracking himself up. We didn't laugh, and I told him "I don't like those types of jokes". This made it worse, and he switched to making short jokes. My friend and I are both blonde, and I'm relatively short. I found this behavior not only creepy, but unprofessional and just plain rude. Even while we were walking out of the store, after leaving his register, he was yelling "jokes" after us. It was disgusting. I have never had such a negative experience as a shopper in Bellingham. I guess I've been lucky until now. I will never be going back to that Dollar Tree location on Telegraph Rd. read more

If you're a savvy shopper this is a great place to shop. This is my first stop for holiday items and stocking stuffers. Other finds can be random (Pokémon cards, energy drinks in single serving sizes) but I always come here for a few things and then find a lot more! read more

The past week I have been researching prices for making my own centre pieces for the wedding and stumbled onto the Dollar Tree website. Wow, amazing! I was hooked and needed to go in. It was like needing a fix, or at least I would assume that's what it was like lol. Anyway, when I went in I was impressed with the selection. It wasn't like Canadian dollar stores where it's mostly horrible stuff. They actually had some good quality items. One thing I found out in my research is that you can order big lot items from their website and have it delivered to the store nearest you and then pick it up, of course this is only if you have a US address for your credit card. read more

Dollar Tree is the largest dollar store in Bellingham. It has all the cheap, inexpensive, mass-produced and plastic items from China and India you could ever possibly want. Groceries, household items, party supplies, toys, holiday and seasonal stuff, bric-a-brac and more! Great selection, and the prices? Well come on, it's a dollar store! Always a very popular place with Canadians, so expect to see lots of British Columbia license plates in the parking lot. Conveniently located just off I-5, near the Bellis Fair mall. read more

I love dollar stores. There is no reason to come here, especially since the $$ is good and we get the same stuff, however, there is a certain joy about walking into a dollar store. I am a fan of the dollar tree. Always have been and, always will be. I have been to a fair share of dollar tree stores and I am satisfied with this place. I have been a ling time fan of Dollar Tree. Some of the products are name brand, most are decent quality. They might be in smaller portion sizes, or if a lesser (but still usable) quality. They also take EBT, and have some healthy foods. Some of the healthy things: soy milk, uht milk, giant cans of diced tomatoes, dried rice, dried beans, eggs, etc. They also occasionally get baguettes that have no fat in them. There are also oodles of unhealthy things like hot dogs, vienna sausage and chips. The freezer section also gets awesome things at random times, like Caie steam buns and delicious potstickers. As for Holiday things, they have a large assortment out before anyone else, so you can start gathering items up in the early months. You can also check out their website, which has a lot of the in-store items available for viewing and reviewing, It definitely sucks to be poor, but at least there is a store where you know you can afford pretty much anything in it. read more

Every time I go in, the cashiers look pissed off and disinterested. No one ever knows where anything is. But many years ago, I worked retail and grocery, so I know the name of the game. I get customers can be mean and not very understanding, but it isn't really cool to take it out on other customers. And when you think about it, their dollar portions are so small of most things, you're way off buying it in a normal grocery store or in bulk. But that's with any dollar store I suppose read more

This place has everything. I'm always amazed at what you can buy for a dollar. I've picked up some name brand cosmetics here which is always fun. You can get greeting cards at about a fourth of the price you would pay elsewear. They stock great decorations for each holiday and you don't feel bad buying it because it is so cheap. Another great thing to get here are gift bags. read more

So about one hour ago my friends and i decided to visit the Ferndale Washington Dollar Tree to pick up some snacks and fun things to do. After being at the store for no more than 15-20 minutes and holding about 3 items, we were confronted by one of the most disrespectful managers i have ever met at a store, named Darleine. She told us that we had been there for too long and that we had put to many items back when we decided not to purchase them. She told us in a very disrespectful and nearly yelling voice that we needed to buy our items and get out of the store. Now don't get me wrong we can be loud at moments but The Dollar Tree isn't a library we aren't required to whisper or be completely silent. Also after being at the store for about 20 minutes there is no requirement that i purchase something (Even though we were planning on purchasing quite a few things that we simply did'nt feel like carrying so agreed to go and pick up just before we checked out) So to be respectful and not cause a scene we brought our business to a more respectful environment, our local Rite aid. After experiencing great costumer service at Rite Aid, we returned to Dollar Tree for one simple question to be answered. We were asked to wait because she was busy, which we didn't have a problem with. When she was finished she brought us to the back of the store and made sure no one could here us (interesting). We asked her very kindly if she could provide us with corporate's phone number. She replied very angrily and almost childishly with "That's easy, its right outside on the door" When we went on our way to check the door she told us, if we came back she would ban us from the store paired with a few disrespectful comments. My friend told her that we didn't appreciate being treated like this and that she was being very disrespectful. When we were outside looking at the signs for the number she followed us out there and started yelling at us again telling us we needed leave, even though she is the one who told us to check the door. When i pointed out to her that there wasn't in fact a number on the door. i then proceeded to ask her what corporate's number was she replied with "911, at least that's the number ill be calling" At that comment we were done with the situation and didnt want to get the police involved in something so childish. She followed us to our car to continue yelling at us saying if we came back or ever did that again she would ban us from the store for doing that. I replied with "you cannot ban us for shopping and trying to have a respectful conversation about how we were treated. Ill find corporate's number on my own they'll here from me very soon" She continued to shout as we started the car and drove off but we ignored her childish remarks. My friends and i were trying to have a fun night because we haven't had a chance to relax in a long time. But her actions ruined our night and any Dollar Tree visit ill ever have. Overall, her actions were uncalled for, disrespectful, childish and obnoxious. If she had believed we were in the wrong in the beginning the proper thing to would be to POLITELY ask us to quiet down, hurry with our shopping or simply ask us if we were planning on buying anything. Darleine was by far one of the worst costumer service employees/manager that i've ever met. What i know from this is my friends and i will not return to ANY Dollar Tree as long as she works there because we need to know that we wont experience such awful treatment again. Thank you for listening i hope this will not be ignored because no one with such awful manors should work in costumer service or be a manger at any such store. read more
