Just went in to Big Lots to do a quick return. They expected me to wait in a long purchase line before they would serve me. Not impressed.

Here are reasons why: *They have great selections, including food items. *Very well stocked and organized. *Employees are friendly and nice. HomeGoods is owned by the same company that owns TJ Maxx and Marchalls. Here are a couple of main differences between HomeGoods and other discount stores ('+' for a pro; '-' for a con): +Prices are great at HomeGoods but they don't (seem to) sell things just because they were able to buy random closeout items. Each item you find on the shelf, you can find multiple of them. If you go to other stores, including its sister stores and definitely Ross, you often find random assortments of things. +HomeGoods, at least at this location, is very well stocked with food items. I was able to find Italian cookies I could not find anywhere else in town. -HomeGoods does not sell apparel. I'm sure I will come back here often. Highly recommended. ************************************************************ If you found my review helpful, please smash the "useful" button! Well it was going ok till I got to check out, but I'll start at the beginning- they do not have…read moreenough carts for starters, they have 3 or 4 total and then a few flat bed trolly carts which isn't easy for those with limited mobility, but while that was annoying it wasn't a deal breaker- some of the stuff is a good deal especially if you don't have a Costco membership but it's still pretty comparable to Safeway/winco if you are good with clipping coupons- obviously this place is more for bulk and such but has a lot for the ordinary house hold- found my coffee syrups and a few other things and headed to the register- we did start at the little red triangle that says line starts here but as lines go just kept following the person in front of me- now the cashier stepped away dealing with the customers in front of me (who i was following from the red triangle sign) she comes back looks at me and says the line starts at the red triangle, trying to signal me to move to the back of the line- that wasn't gonna happen, I said yeah I know I just moved forward- got a blank stare and she continued with the customer in front of me- when I got to the reg like 1.5mins later it was very lack luster in service, I did decline a small box but would have though she could have helped loaded my few items into the cart to help move the process and as I walk with a mobility aid which takes one of hands, help out a person who has limited mobility but I'm assuming since she thought I cut the line even tho I didn't she wanted to have a tude about it which sucks cus we were talking about coming back and stocking up on a few things that peaked our interest but I'll go to winco and Costco if this is how your gonna treat your customers-

OK, I'm from NYC and am not used to this whole affordable antiques situation, but George at Vintage…read more360 provided me an excellent introduction. I ended up getting a great deal on a nice mid-century dining table that was missing a foot. He offered to find me a new foot, and went above and beyond to help me get it to my apartment. We've also been in touch via email, and he offered to alert me when he gets in new stuff that I'm on the look out for in my price range and style. Like, if I were back home in the city, this stuff would by 5x as much and I'd pay through the nose to rent a van to get the furniture back to my house, and no one would care that I want a mid-century bedside table with a drawer in walnut. The store is clean, well-organized, and doesn't have the dusty, oppressive, overwhelming, hoarder den, imposible-to-navigate feel of other antique shops. A must- go if you like beautiful old stuff and attentive customer service.

I had just moved into my little studio and I was looking for some things to furnish it, and I found the PERFECT dish set here. It was beautiful! The problem was, I didn't quite have the money to pay for it. Not only did he give me a discount, but he let me put a down payment on it, and I came back in a week to pick it up, and he had it all wrapped up for me to take home! Wonderful customer service, and great pieces. I will be back.
