Very disappointed. After placing an order online with dollar tree for delivery in this location, I received so many email that my order was ready for pick up. The 2 times I went the manager didn't see interest AT ALL on helping me. I asked her about my order and she pretended she checked but she was talking to 2 older ladies and came back saying my order wasn't there, 'are you for reals' I literally saw her standing up the whole time, she never went and check. Now I notice that is a hard product to find and they always keep it for free saying the order wasn't lost on transit!!!! I haven't received my money back either!!!!! Wtf!!!!! I'm always down to check out a Dollar Tree for cute holiday decor so when I saw this location nearby while I was out for breakfast I gave it a whirl. The location had stuff everywhere. I was able to find a few cute Valentines items, but was let down with their other decor. It was more disorganized than other locations. When checking out the line was very long and only one cashier working while 2-3 others just walked on by. Our cashier was friendly though so I appreciate that. Don't ask for the bathroom key, god forbid! Doesn't matter if you're polite or not, wrinkled cashier with the toddler makeup has the nastiest attitude. But the associates stocking supplies have better customer service, kept areas stocked and organized while helping customers with basic questions. I really dig the prices here. Everything is a buck. No surprises or need to wonder how much anything in is. They have a great selection of things you use and don't use often and most are "worth" the dollar. I've purchased solar garden lights and they are working well after 6 months. Walk in there one day if you never have and you'll be surprised what you'll find. Not saying it's my place for everything. There are tons of one time use items. So why the low rating? Well first of all the trash can in the entrance over flooded with trash right by the door looks disgusting and made me think twice about walking in. This is not my first visit with same issue. You can see the sidewalk stained with junk. In addition, there is always only one register open and several times I've thought twice about just leaving. I was visiting from out of state and needed a few items. When I went in, I was greeted by a very cheerful older female cashier. The store itself was a disaster. It was very dirty and messy. What made me write the review was the horrible manager who was very condescending to the sweet older lady cashier. The cashier told the manager that she needed change, and the manager raised her voice to the cashier and told her "I heard you!" My question was why did she ask again if she heard her. She desperately needed change. It was very unprofessional for her to raise her voice in front of customers, especially. Not a good manager at all! Here is the rest of the story --on February 11th: 7:08 am on hold at toll free number -left my number for a call back 7:12 am Craig returned call. Took order number and said that I would get a confirmation in an email. Refund would show up on my card within 48 hours. I received an email at 9am saying that I would receive my refund within 48 hours. Two and a half hours later, I did receive an email, but it was asking me if I had forgotten to pick up my item and saying that they would give me an extra day -until the 12th--to pick up the order that WAS NOT THERE! Twelve hours after that one, I received an email stating that the refund had been issued, but the refund was actually posted to my account on February 15th--four days later. Recently moved to Avondale . This is the only dollar tree closest to me . The first time I walked in I was horrified . It was a MESS ! boxes everywhere almost in every aisle . I avoid having to go to to this location . I shouldn't have to drive 15 miles away to another store that has their crap together . So today I decided to give it another chance . Maybe they had just gotten a delivery that day and was working on stocking the shelves .... NOPE SAME thing the floors look like they haven't been swept or mopped in YEARS boxes still everywhere throughout the store . Items out of place . This store is so bad I wish I could give it a zero, but that's not possible so I give it a 1. Me and my family went into this dollar tree I can say we will NEVER be coming back here again! The entire store was dirty and filthy! There were black spots on the floor and boxes EVERYWHERE. This isn't even the beginning of this review. This store seriously need some better costumer service and maintenance. The employees are rude and do not know how to properly handle a situation that was a simple small mistake. The employees are seriously rude and treat there customers like trash. Here's the story on why me and my family will NEVER EVER come to this dollar tree again. My mom and sister had to go to the restroom while they were waiting for my nana to get out my sister told my mom how badly she needed to go. My mom noticed a second restroom (which we would later figure out was the customer restroom, however they did not know at that time. I will explain later) she told my sister to go in there. When my sister went in she said that it was gross and there was random dirty stuff in the dirty bathrooms. Once my nana exited my mom and sister went in to do their business. In the middle of my mom using the toilet an employee walked in and instead of waiting till my mom was done she decided to keep the door open, look at her and tell her they were in the employee restroom that is not for customers .WHICH BY THE WAY MY MOM HAD ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THERE WERE NO SIGNS SAYING WHICH RESTROOM WAS FOR CUSTOMERS AND WHICH WAS FOR EMPLOYEES. After my mom and sister were finally done she proceeded to tell them again. My mom apologized and explained she didn't know. My nana later told my mom that the lady (Sid is her name or at least that's what the manager Samuel called her) walked out and told the manager that some customers used their restroom and she couldn't f-ing believe that. When we proceeded to check out the lady clearly saw us there and proceeded to tell the manager and was being rude about what happened which my mom didn't feel the need to make a big deal out of. THAT WAS UNTIL THE MANAGER (SAMUEL) said that she should told my mom and sister to get the h*ll out of their restroom. Again my MOM HAD NO CLUE that her and my sister were using the wrong restroom because THERE WERE NO SIGNS ANYWHERE which Samuels response was that normally they were locked and he wasn't the lats to use that bathroom. As the manager he should've kept his attitude and language more professional and keep more track of his restrooms at his store. Sid and Samuel were being insanely rude about it and their attitude is beyond disgusting they need to be put in check REAL QUICK! And they're store needs some better maintenance, honestly surprised I didn't find roaches. We will NEVER shop at this location again and I hope Sid and Samuel get what they deserve :) read more

Alright, so I understand that while in the Dollar Tree, one must not expect to be mingling with residents from the Hamptons. I've accepted this, but my most recent visit to this location left me wondering if there's even a "You must be wearing clothes!" rule for entering here. As usual, this place has tiny aisles and a mess of boxes of stuff being put on display along with items thrown everywhere by rude people who are too lazy to put something back where they found it (I worked retail, you jerks know who you are). Walking around this store a few days ago, I came up on an aisle that (no joke!) was about a foot wide. I can only hope it was temporary, but who knows. I also heard the familiar "Dollar Tree sound" of a child screaming for something their parent won't buy them. This time it involved a Sumo toddler female weilding two rolls of wrapping paper, named Marisa (I know this because instead of reprimanding the child, all the mother did was whine this name over and over). This was the fattest child I have ever seen in person (Maury show doesn't count as "in person"). I try my hardest not to judge people, but this was awful. This poor little girl was barely two feet tall, MAYBE two years old, and about 70-80 pounds. She wasn't wearing shoes (though I'm not sure any would have fit her) and she was stomping on rolls of paper. Then, she was running down the aisle pulling stuff off the shelve and whining/screaming because she wanted candy. I thought this was the worst of it. Then, I went to pay. The woman, who I can only assume was the child's mother, was stuffing items all over the place she suddenly decided she didn't want (again, I worked retail, I know these people suck). She moved slightly while hiding a bottle of Mountain Dew behind a row of batteries and I saw the most disgusting thing I'd seen all day. She had another child, this one slightly less obese than the other, a girl with no shirt or shoes and covered from head to toe in what I can only hope was chocolate. I didn't know whether to report this woman to CPS or donate my .65 cents a day to these Save the Children escapees. No one working there did anything to keep this woman's two older children (there was a boy who was about 5 pulling balloons down and punching them along with the older girl) from destroying the store. And good Lord no one had the nerve to at least double check that the brown goo covering the smallest victim was at least chocolate before she let the child touch everything in sight?! Customers were staring, but apparently being passive aggressive wasn't working because the woman didn't seem to notice. I'm not sure if the stares were merely out of shock from seeing a child who could barely walk & breathe due to her size. Poor thing. The cherry on top of this "experience" was the meth addicts ahead of me directing check out line traffic; "You.. you, you go over there and I'll--well, I'll stay right here, maaaan." They were overly excited to buy a giant bottle of orange soda and generally gave me the creeps the way one of them kept calling me, "Babe." The woman ahead of them paid for their soda, so lucky me they weren't in front of me longer than they had to be. The only saving grace about this place was the cashier. I've been helped by her a few other times and she's geniunely friendly. She seems to wear a look about her that says, "If I could, I'd do something about (insert: aged druggies/screaming babies/children running & playing near glass objects), I totally would." read more

Love this store. It's a teacher's favorite place to shop. I get the majority of my art supplies here. They have everything you need for school supplies as well. I also buy all my food store plastic containers here and use them for multiple purposes. They just opened a larger Dollar tree on 107th Ave and Thomas, this one even has a frozen food section. read more

Do not accept manufacturer's coupons if you are just going to give all of us a hard time like we are cheating you out of money because we aren't. I had bought some items for a halloween costume. Thus meaning after halloween I would have zero need for it. Upon the assembly of my costume, several of the glow sticks didn't work. I tried glow stick after glow stick, and finally was able to get a few of them to work. This greatly compromised the whole costume, but being unwilling to let this defeat me and ruin the night I had planned with friends, I pressed on. The costume was just "okay" and if the glow sticks had actually worked, it would have been phenomenal! I had made the decision to not open any more packages with the idea that since their product was defective (more than likely because of kids like the previous review mentioned) that they would certainly refund my money. They have a no refund policy, which I could understand if I just didn't like it or didn't want it. But this situation merits special circumstances. I called the store and explained what happened and was pleasantly surprised that they agreed to a refund. When I went in to do the refund, I was told no one authorized that. I was also told by the cashier that in her lucrative 6 year career at the extremely high class establishment, that she has never seen defective glow sticks. Well that must make her the authority on everything glow stick! But I digress, I asked to speak to the manager. He told me that he could exchange the faulty glow sticks for new ones. I again explained it was part of halloween costume and the time for exchange had long passed. I will admit that the GPS on my phone caused me to dial a different Dollar Tree store, and they were the ones to offer refund...but I'm curious if refunds are absolutely not possible, why then was the other store willing to do one? When I discovered that I had dialed a different store and explained that to the Avondale location, I asked why they could give a refund, but he couldn't? He said they should have never offered it to me. Here is the problem as I see it, if ones merchandise is defective, I don't care what your policy is, give the refund!!! Also, if another store offered the refund, they should honor it. I have been in customer service management for over 15 years. I currently manage a site that does not offer refunds. But I also know there are always extenuating circumstances, and in those situations, I call those over me and get it done!!!! Because I would rather at least try to assist the customer than not. An unsatisfied customer will always remember less than par service, and the same can be said of excellent customer service. With this being such a high tech day and age, sharing your good or bad experiences is simply at your fingertips for potentially thousands to see. Was that $15 refund worth the bad review? Especially in a time when people are suffering the hardest financially? There are several dollar stores in the Avondale area. My recommendation is that whomever reads this uses any of those over Dollar Tree. If you Dollar Tree employees read this, let this be a word to the wise, the consumer right now has the upper hand. We the consumer have a voice and as choice. Trust me, this doesn't end here. read more
