Told us today that we could not record in her store. She failed to mention it was corporate policy to us but made sure to let the sheriff officers know when they came. Instead with a nasty attitude before the Sherriff showed up referred us to signage on the door that was supposed to notify us of said rule before entering the store. She even dared to point out the sign where it says no recording allowed in the store. I have enclosed the sign that she referenced. Can anybody reading this look at the picture and tell me where it says you can't record in-store? Once she realized she was caught in her lie she decided to call the sheriff to come and have us trespassed for 5 years. Common sense isn't too common because the line she used as her reference says "no loitering or Soliciting". Neither means no recording in the store. This lady was nasty from the start, even when she knew she messed up and the sign didn't say what she said it did. The sad part is how adamant she was that the sign says it. She could have easily corrected herself and said it was a corporate policy. Not her, she had to make sure she let us know who was the boss. Be wary of this manager if you have an issue at this store.

When I returned to let them know the girl looked at the receipt for like 30 seconds making me feel very strange and then said, I will be right back. Sure enough I was correct and she came back saying the price was correct but they had not changed the sign. Well, that is not my fault. She must have been ticked that her employees did not get the price changed. I will say that while she was correcting the error she did change her attitude to a nicer tone but never did apologize. Just make sure you check your receipt.

Associates throughout the store were knowledgeable, friendly, and cheerful, which truly added to the experience during a busy shopping season. There were plenty of sales and special pricing available, making it easy to find great values. The gun counter was extensive and well organized, and the associate working there was both knowledgeable and friendly. The electronics department was impressive with a wide selection, and the children's clothing section was especially large, offering many options for all ages. However, there was one major drawback that significantly impacted my visit. Another patron and I did not have our physical Star Cards with us and needed assistance retrieving our accounts. We were told there was only one person on duty who could access this information at night. Unfortunately, we were informed that this associate was working another job, arrived 40 minutes late, and that we simply had to wait. We were also told that we could drive to another location if we didn't want to wait--but that is not a reasonable expectation for shoppers who are already in-store and ready to purchase. To make matters worse, when the associate finally arrived, there was no apology for the delay. This staffing limitation and lack of accountability was frustrating and ultimately spoiled what otherwise would have been an excellent shopping experience. It makes little sense to have only one individual authorized to handle such an essential function, especially during evening hours and the holiday season. With better contingency planning and customer communication, this could easily be corrected--because aside from this issue, the MCX truly excels in many areas.

They let anyone and everyone come in and sit and knit, which is a great time to take in all the yarn candy in the shop. They are so friendly they helped my husband find a great birthday gift, a yarn hat kit, and he was proud to hand it to me. There is an eclectic group of people that come and knit, and some that come in, asking a plethora of questions, all answered btw, and buy their fibers there. In Swansboro does not mean far from beachers, tourists, and lovers of a short distance adventure from the beach. AND well worth the time to be with Peggy and Roxanne, and everyone that comes in. And don't check the faces, those knitters are knitting one of the wonderful yarns and pattern that both Peggy and Roxanne have helped them find to your liking.
