I grew up on a farm in the area, but lived in different cities for 40 years before moving back. I'm guessing my city life, is dominating my country roots and my appreciation for this store. The one area that I absolutely do appreciate, is the dog toys. There are plenty of plush toys and an amazing variety of Kong Toys. Another area that I enjoy shopping, is the garden department. In the men's department, I only like their selection of blue jeans, because I can spend my life forever in blue jean. I think what surprises me most about this store is the pricing, it is higher than I would expect a farm store. Especially in the mens department, I can go to Orvis or a designer store at the outlet mall and find shirts and slacks at a better price. With the way the economy is going, we all have to be a smarter shopper. I'll continue to shop here, in hopes of finding a bargain in the future.

Five Below is also has a good variety of affordable greeting cards and gift bags. In addition to the favors for a kids party, they also have lots of toys that will make it easy on Santa's Christmas budget. They also have T-Shirts, travel sized toiletries, cleaning supplies, books, pet supplies and exercise accessories. Honestly, it's a store that has a lot of different things, at cheap prices. They have lots of items for electronics and iPhone gadgets, but those items I'd be a little scared of. If you are a big buy USA shopper, this may not be the store for you. Almost everything in the store is made in China. There are no cashiers, you check yourself out and you get no employee discount.

The grocery area reminded me of a low-end Aldi's or a Ruler store. They did have many name brands and then a good variety of generic brands that you most likely never heard of. Be sure to know your prices, many items I saw were not priced cheaper then your typical Target or Schnucks. I did great buying school supplies for a local charity. I was able to get a lot more here, than at the local office supply or Target stores. Also, being a greeting card junkie I was able to snag up several good cards on the cheap. A cheap card makes up for the expensive postage. I also got a package of 8 cute blank note cards for a $1. That is mind blowing. For a discount store, it was well organized and clean. There was no clutter blocking the aisles. Associates on the floor were helpful, one guided me to the correct aisle for the school supplies. When checking out, the cashier was friendly and did his job well. Trying to be politically correct, he was a special needs individual and I was happy to see DG was giving him an opportunity to work. Yes, at least BBW moved across the street to a new space in a renovated strip center. Olga's restaurant closed after almost 40+ years, but a local restaurant bought the recipes. At least we'll be able to still enjoy those delicious Gyro's. For those interested, the stores I saw that were still open are; Ross, JC Penny's, Slackers, Famous Brand Shoes, Finish Line Shoes, Slackers, Spencers, Maurice's, Jan's Hallmark and Hayner's Public Library.
