For a moment, I thought this could be the new XS Cargo--a Canadian discount chain that closed down several years ago and I have longed for the return of. I was aware that many Amazon products that are returned get sold to liquidators, so I entered the store with expectations of pretty competitive pricing. What I found was a pretty broad collection of cheaper-quality products at, what seemed like retail or near-retail prices. In spite of signage assuring me otherwise, the discounts that I saw just quite didn't rationalize the purchase price for me. After all, some of these products may even be defective Amazon returns and the savings just weren't substantial enough to take that risk. While the products may indeed be acquired through a liquidation sale, or Amazon palette auction model, the price that consumers like me see doesn't quite reflect that. It feels like someone's making a handsome markup here.

At the cash area, she was behind me and I asked her "where is your mask" Her reply was "if you did any research you would know I do not have to wear a mask and neither should anyone else" I thought oh great a conspiracy follower and did not respond. But what bothered me was as I was leaving the store the cashier said to thid lady in my hearing "that was a good answer you gave to her". I have no problem with personal beliefs, having said that I am extremely high high risk. What bothered me most was this employee is purposely not maintaining the Health department and Ministry of health regulations to help stop the spread of this deadly virus therefore putting others at risk. I feel she should have approached this customer and at least asked where her mask was and with a nonmedical exemption answer reminded this customer of the rules every business is supposed to follow. I have been in medicine for over 40 years, have seen lots of noncompliant humans. I don't have time to change minds if they are ignorant to this pandemic. But I do not wish to frequent an establishment that does not comply to recommended health department advice that we are all supposed to follow. I think this establishment needs to instruct their staff to keep their opinions to themselves and help us as a community ensure the safety of their clients. During the grand opening period, there are free hotdogs and pop/water, catered by Gerard The Hot Dog Man. The hotdog was delicious. All their stores have the same big format, possibly bigger than a large Canadian Tire. There is a big retail store which houses their living room furniture, sleep furniture, and appliances (eg. kitchen), and electronics (eg. exercise machines, massage chairs). They also have furniture that can fit in small apartments/condos. They also have free self-serve hot drinks machine and freshly made popcorn. The popcorn starts 1 hour before the store opening to make the scent of popcorn linger throughout the entire store. There is also a children's playground area to keep them busy while the potential purchases can concentrate on buying (great strategy!). At the other end of the store, there is their outlet store. When discontinuing a product, it goes to this side of the store. All products there are new, but also discounted. The outlet store has a 0% interest 60-month payment plan. The nice thing about this chain is that everyone you deal with is their employee, not any third party, from sales, customer service, to delivery. The sales staff work on commission. You can purchase from any store and have it delivered or picked up from any of their stores. The sales staff are very courteous and pleasant. There store is wheelchair accessible. Avoid buying here…read more I own multiple Boston 12 shoes. I wanted a new pair and bought them here as they were cheaper. Upon them arriving I tried them on and they were huge on me. I couldn't understand why as the box stated the same size as all my others a size 6 regular fit. I sent them back and was told they wouldn't refund me as they were worn outside... it's Alberta winter with mud and snow. They shoes are still Snow White... Upon looking it appears they sent me either a man's shoe or a wide. And are unwilling to assist in the matter. Don't trust your getting your shoes the way you ordered them.
