My husband and I pulled off the highway and went to the target, both for shelter and because we needed to pick up some items. The staff here ushered us into the back hallway and it was clear that the safety of both the staff and customers that came in was their priority. While we were waiting out the tornado warning in the back hallway the staff kept the mood light and passed out water and some chocolate. Their attitude diffused what may have been a scary situation. I don't live locally so I won't be making regular trips to the store, but I want to sincerely thank the staff and management. You guys are doing a great job!

JCPenney or "Penney's" as I recall from my childhood still has a good selection of merchandise in every category or department. They seem to have a clearance section in every department which has deals up to 70% off. It is nice to go to brick and mortar stores to actually see the merchandise and put your hands on it. Actually walking around and shopping seems to be more rewarding than sitting on your couch or in front of your computer and shopping online.

(I would probably still give their clothing, shoes and accessories 3 stars--it's hit or miss.) They've started carrying a bunch of organic and hard-to-find food items that I've been on the hunt for. They also have k-cups and fair trade coffee - wow, color me impressed. Since I cook at home 90% of the time now, I want to start buying some new cookware and kitchen items. They have some really cool items that are on my list including a salad spinner, bamboo utensils, a wok and even a few things that I didn't know that I needed, like the handy dandy avocado keeper. It will seal your half used avocado so it doesn't turn brown. If you're looking to update your kitchenware or wanting to explore some new food items, I would recommend checking Marshalls out first. I didn't see any regarding actual staff interactions nor the quality of their wares. They have an incredibly friendly and helpful staff that were willing to go into detail of how a majority of their product worked. I have a hard time finding shops in Northwest Indiana that have a wide variety of glass and vape goodies in them. I also really enjoy the jewelry that they have. The stone pendants are BEAUTIFUL and I personally have a hard time finding small stud earrings that won't have a negative reaction with my ears. I was over joyed when I saw they had small sterling silver studs. I have not tried any of their clothes so I can't give my opinion on those but overall I give this store 5 out of 5 stars based on their super helpful and friendly staff and based on the quality of the goods in their store. I bought an iPhone 4 charger over a year ago and it just started to fray and fall apart last week. Luckily for me, I upgraded to the 5C, so I threw it away and went back for a new one. They have a lot of iPhone 5/5s cases, but they don't have any 5c cases yet. I was able to get a car charger though for $5 that's blue and matches my phone, so I'm happy with my purchase.
