As she is in her 80s, the long distance trips are fewer and more far between, so the mere fact that this place is within close proximity of her home gives me peace of mind. You can find all of the basics here. Firewood, smokes, cold drinks, basic groceries, toiletries and other general merchandise - if you can think of it, the Country Store probably carries it. Service has always been friendly from what I can recall. There is always a smiling face behind the counter, and the staff are normally good for quick conversation. I've always been treated like family here. It's a nice feeling. The store is smack dab in the middle of a very small, rural town. You likely won't come across it unless you are intentionally in Squaw Valley. If you are here though, you can't go wrong.

Honestly the selection here is impressive, you've got just about everything you need to stock your RV or vacation cabin, and at prices that aren't bad. For context we geared lack of selection up here and bought our groceries in Visalia, where's there's not a "regular" grocery store. We could have saved time and just shopped here. I also got 3 isle teasers: Churro Oreos(New&Yum!), Reese's pretzels & PB M&Ms. You can't buy wine at self-checkout. I went to a line, waited & checked out. They are busy! The worker was very kind. Showed my ID, paid for everything and left. Good service & Walmart! Recommended!

We were just here for a few water bottle stickers and some snacks, but also found some simple and affordable gloves (we drove up for a day trip, and didn't realize there would be so much snow!).... They also had hot coffee and a microwave you could use to heat up food just purchased. I've seen gallons of milk on the shelves that were over a WEEK expired, which is honestly freaking gross and unacceptable. I've also bought milk that wasn't expired yet but smelled sour as soon as I got home and opened it. The refrigerators never seem very cold, which makes me wonder if products are going bad before the expiration date because they aren't being kept at the right temperature. I've even bought cereal that wasn't expired but tasted really old.... Groceries ARE EXPENSIVE in general so I felt I had to say something because it's literal robbery.
