The store is convenient at 2.2 miles, and I have never seen a problem other than making an 80-year-old woman compromise her SS because no one would work! Until tonight....I had approximately $40 in a handbasket. I was in line to check out and when the patron in front of me completed his transaction, I placed my basket on the cashier counter. The Asst. Mgr. (Mark) pulled out his cell phone and began texting. I stood there in disbelief, then side-stepped to the POS point. He continued to text without acknowledgment of my presence. I looked at Mark, down at my basket, and then at the card in my hand. I waited while he texted and not looking up. I then decided to leave. I went out, then came back to the store and contacted another employee and asked if she was the manager. She replied she was, and so was Mark. I told her that having to wait while Mark texted and ignoring customers is not acceptable. I stated: "I was standing right in front of him, and he was ignoring me." At that point, I left your store. I would expect that sort of thing from some kid, but not someone of his genre. I suppose you can get that sweet elderly lady to work at all hours, but DG has screwed with her social security enough. That poor lady is all you have at that store. I SERIOUSLY doubt I will ever darken your doorstep again.
I am appalled. As a disabled veteran, I frequent your stores for budget reasons. I suppose Family Dollar or Dollar Tree is my new go-to. read more
