It's a real adventure in all sorts of ways, but like driving with your shirt off in summer, it can be liberating. I would steer clear of the dry goods, but have gotten some good candy and beverages. You never know what kind of stuff you will find amongst the other goods. The workers are all very nice and they are helpful to people in the community who are struggling. This store can be a fun little exploration. I try not to eat candy, but who can resist when you can get it four bars for a dollar??? Twizzlers, rice krispie treats, hundred grand bars, sour straws, power bars, they suck me in!!!! HELP!!! I'm going native. :)

Tech items are worth a comparison online, tho usually competitive for open-box gear. Many $5 clothes now too. Love the staff, always a humored, witty help! -1/2 star for moths in dry grains (don't store them for long) -1/2 star manager refusal to honor price on items (sure, margins are small- but jacking up the price AT the register does not endear you to anyone, is technically illegal) Bring a bag, fill up on coffee, cake-mix & cosmetics CHEAP!

They focus on helping adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and do a super job. As part of their fund-raising efforts, they run numerous ARC Resale locations where they resell donated goods and it's the Avon Park resale location that I'm reviewing today. My mother recently passed away and I had a need to donate a great deal of stuff she had accumulated over 94 years of life. I chose these folks Arriving- It's right on Main Street about a minute from US Route 27 and it's a snap to find. Parking is simple. Donating- Easy peasy! The customer service folks explained clearly what they could take and why they didn't except certain items. It was painless and quick. Shopping- Let's assume you've been to other places that sell donations. This place is clean and organized like the competitors. The staff is just fine. Pricing- Unfortunately I'm deducting One star as they seem to price higher than all the competitors. They make up for that a bit by having selected days with discounts like Seniors Day etc. However, the standard pricing, in my opinion, needs to be adjusted. Conclusion- Even with the pricing blip this is a fine organization doing good work and the store is worth a look, especially on discounted days!

You will see Ollie's bucktooth grin along with funny sayings all over the store. In 1994 the company started their loyalty program called Ollie's Army which you can sign up for on their website. For every $1 you spend, you get one point. Points move you up the rank and earn you discount coupons off your purchase. According to the company, Ollie's Army get you "good stuff...even cheaper". Currently there are 408 stores in 28 states, several of which are in Florida. Ollie's purchases company liquidations, overstocks, and older items that haven't sold, and resells them in their stores for a discount. You can expect to see name brand items. Ollie's sells a little of everything, cleaning supplies, garden items, books, toys, food, health and beauty, automotive, holiday decorations, home improvements, electronics, flooring, housewares, and so much more. I had previously shopped in the West Palm Beach and Delray stores and they were great for stocking up on hurricane supplies. Ollie's always has a ton of inexpensive K-cups and cheap and unusual snacks. I usually grab some candy as incentives for the kids at school. On this trip I found the snack size bags I use to pack portion controlled snacks for my school lunches. This is the kind of store where you come in for one thing and pretty soon you have a cart full of stuff. Check back often because the merchandise changes frequently and you will always find something new.

Easily the best place to go for affordable home goods, rugs, even some clothes, random food items and especially for holiday shopping or any kind of gift shopping. The store has been more organized recently - good job on that end, employees! Now, on to the criticism... Recently every time I've been in here, I've been hearing the employees complaining very loudly about how they want to quit, can't wait to leave, etc. It's really beginning to show in their attitudes on the job. The last time I went the lady Trisha was so rude. My husband commented lovingly on how she shared the same name has his sister (who is deceased, by the way) and she scoffed at him. She was cursing loudly and proudly on the job, a surefire sign of serious unprofessionalism. I get that you hate your job but when you're being paid to be at a location, the least you can do is hold your tongue to all of the foul words you consider saying and work the job with a good attitude. If there's one thing I've learned through my years working similar jobs in my youth, it's that you should never take your home troubles and bring them into your work attitude. She was very unpleasant, short tempered, and absolutely pissed off to have anyone shopping in this Ollie's Outlet. Of course, I love Ollie's so I'll bear through it. Another time, I was ringed up incorrectly and when I pointed out that my discounts never came off, a different lady showed me a lot of attitude in trying to fix it. There are some sweet folks who work here - I'm not saying all of them are bad. But recently I've really been noticing how negative the work environment has become there. Some of the employees really need to show up to work and just have a good attitude. Some are fine. Either way I love this Ollie's and I'll come back, but it has been pretty bad on that end recently. I would give this 5 stars but a star is getting knocked off for a handful of the employees issues, and if I keep showing up and these issues continue spiraling down, I'll come back and knock another star off.

History- I had multiple bad experiences getting vaccinated at your typical big box chain pharmacy. Long waits, botched appointments, screwed up paperwork, you name it. I experienced it! Several of my friends suggested I try Publix, so I gave them a shot. It's the fall vaccine season so, as an older Yelper I needed three shots and I like to do mine separately as opposed to simultaneously. This is my story. Online- An absolutely wonderful experience. Well-designed and easy to understand and navigate. Do all your paperwork here instead of on a clipboard at the pharmacy. I hate those clipboards! Appointments- You can go either way at Publix. You can do first-come-first-served or by appointment. If you enjoy root canals, go without an appointment! If you like smooth efficiency, get one online. It's quick and simple. So, I had three appointments over about five weeks. * For each one I was seen either early or on time. * There was no onsite paperwork! In just one case I needed to do an electronic signature. That's it! * In every case I was treated professionally and by genuinely friendly folks. * I can't tell you what a pleasure it was to walk out of the store 5 minutes after my appointment time on three separate occasions! This is how the world should work! If I could award ten stars I would. They deserve it!
