A small grocery store in a small town that has big standards…read more Yeah it's not a HEB plus, or a super target, or whatever... it is a small grocery store that is doing things right! Clean fresh and friendly... those are the 3 best words to describe it. Nice fresh produce with a descent selection... a pharmacy... and lots of beer! (And clean bathrooms) It really has everything you'd expect at even your big places just a little less selection and slightly higher prices. The employees were very nice and offered help, asked if I found everything I was looking for, and thanked me for shopping there. Nice people, nice place, descent selection.

Just one package, take it or leave it. Not sure what was was going on. Then onto get a bar of soap. Terrible prices compared to HEB, so I checked the individual toiletries isle and I was just getting one. When I went to put 3pack back, I saw a different price for the individual bar. I went back and took photo and instead of self check, waited in line. It rang up incorrect. I showed photo to cashier, but she said it was for another smaller size. In photo you can see that the larger size is the only product on shelf at price. A manager came and was absolutely no help either. Cashier said he was going to remove the wrong product from display. So I wasn't helped, other than wasting my time, and didn't leave with any soap! So much for standing by whats on display and honoring customers who bring proof to register.

I love this grocery store! I really really thought I wouldn't given that it's smaller than any HEB, and it's located in rural Texas, which, quite frankly usually means fewer organic selections and dubious cleanliness. I couldn't have been more wrong! The organic produce selection is surprisingly good, as are the "weird" brands we'd become accustomed to at Village Foods. We've found everything from our favorite tomato paste in a tube, to choice and prime beef, which you can't find even at HEB. The store is clean and the staff is moderately helpful. They were running a really cool promo where you'd save stickers with every purchase and get Lock N Lock plastic storage containers with completed sheets, but that expired last month. I hope they run another one soon; we got some great stuff! Given our other options here in Caldwell (zero), I feel like we lucked out here, and it's pretty awesome not to have to drive half an hour for a great selection of products.

Sorority meeting....coffee cup or ornament gift exchange...no coffee cup or ornament to exchange…read more Hark, HEB grocery store appears in the distance. Yes, I must make a pit stop at HEB to see what I can find. With lighting speed, I found an ornament and gift bag. However, I did not find any tissue...yikes! What would a Girl Scout do? As the cashier was ringing me out, I asked if he had some tissue. He said, "no" however he did provide me a paper towel looking material. Beggars cannot be choosers. So, I happily took the material and wrapped my jack pot ornament. Thanks HEB for rescuing me on this gift exchange adventure. When I got to my sorority meeting, all ornaments were being removed from their original packaging and put in clear bags provided by the sorority. So, I did not need my bag nor tissue (actually tissue-like) material. This HEB appears to be a super store, which means it is large with a huge variety of items from groceries to clothing and everything in between.
