Even their regular prices are not bad at all. I stopped in to this location for the first time and it did not disappoint! They had art work 50%, great Easter decorations and great garden stuff. Also, 70% off selection shampoo, conditioner and other beauty products. Some were $1.50, $1.20 and one was .45!!! My daughter had me buy some for her. You cannot pass up a deal like that. The staff here were super friendly. The manager was so kind and polite. I bought 2 great planters for my front porch. I will share the photo after I plant flowers in them. This location is one of my favorites now. Of course I will return here!!!

I love that the Dollar Tree has some decent quality stuff. They've got glass vases and jars and tons of kitchen and organization items that cost more at other stores. They also rotate tons of stuff depending on the season and holidays so you will always find things you need for occasions. The party section is great because you can always find gift bags and disposable party plates and trays. I always love coming here. As with any other cheap items, you have to figure out what works for you quality-wise. And if you see something you think you need- get it! Because they might not carry it next season.

Thus we brought in a piñata and an envelope from the sonogram and the manager used the candy we bought from the store along with either a pink or blue streamer depending on what the gender is. They even taped up the opening of our piñata to help protect it so we wouldn't easily see it accidentally. They were super helpful!! :)

I ordered a water meter box & cast iron lid. The price on the Ewing web site was about $80…read morecombined. It was not something that the local store had in stock, so I was told it would take a few days to arrive. After a week I called to check the status and was told it was on the way; I was also told at that time that I'd have to pay $20 for shipping. That was never mentioned previously. I was not happy to hear about this extra cost, but I knew the water meter box was heavy (about 90 lbs) and agreed. When it arrived I went to pick it up. As the salesman went to retrieve the parts I looked at the receipt and was shocked to see a total of $180! There was an added cost of $80 for shipping. When I told the salesman there was a mistake, that shipping was supposed to be $20 (and explaining that they never told me I'd have to pay shipping in the first place) he went to talk to the manager. Salesman came back, said $40 shipping was the best they could do. I told him, no, not charging me for shipping in the first place was the best they could do, but I'd still take it for $20. He went to talk to the manager again and I asked if the manager would come talk to me. Salesman came out again, said $40 was the best they could do. Again, I asked for the manager, but he was "busy" (I could see him in the office, talking to another employee). Salesman told me they had to order a minimum of 4 units and the shipping was $80 - so they wanted to stick ME with the entire cost of shipping for all of their order! I again said I'd pay for $20 shipping (or 1/4 of the shipment) and asked for the manager but was again told $40 was the best they could do, and that the manager was still busy. I told the salesman it was wrong to try to rip off the customer by not telling them there was an additional shipping fee after the fact, then not honoring that fee, and then trying to charge an outrageous amount. I was told, "That's the cost of doing business" - Well, not with me. Update: I was contacted by a manger from Houston who gave me the opportunity to tell my side of the story. He contacted the College Station location and I was able to purchase the meter box & lid for the original price, plus $20 shipping. I appreciate being contacted by that manager, and have raised my rating from 1 star to three stars. The local Ewing location still has the best price & availability for the concrete meter box, I just wish I hadn't been jerked around on the shipping.

This is not a reflection on all Michael's locations, for me it only applies to this one. They can do better especially in a busy college town.
