And it's only eight minutes away from me. Of course it's a little more expensive for some items (although there are a lot of great deals there too), as is the case with EVERY single convenience store. SMH. Lol. Once I had extra guests and ran out of pillows. I did not want to have to go all the way into town, so I took a chance at this DG and sure enough my problem was solved (so yeah extremely convenienced!) I've called a number of times to see if they've had something and they've always been courteous. It's a very clean store every time i've gone there. And everyone at the counter has always been very friendly. I am thankful and grateful.

I wish I were rich. *sigh* If you want punch tools for leather or metal working, paper arts stuff, embellishments, doo dads, grommets, anything you can think of that you can put on a book, basically, it's ALL THERE. Prices are competitive, too... plus there are online workshops, info, and photos of what others are doing to help inspire you. It's a site I go to only when I have some money to burn. If you're like me, you'll LOVE this site!! Update 4/26/08: I just took a week long Book Arts Technic course with Christine Cox, the owner of Volcano Arts, and it was the BEST THING I HAVE EVER DONE to learn new art skills. SERIOUSLY. There are only 6 students max, although we only had five. You get lots of one-on-one time with her. She's written articles, been in books, been everywhere and done everything to do with book arts, metal smithing, etc. She's super talented and I have learned SO MUCH in her class! I will post the photos of the books I made. You'll be so jealous. I still can't believe that I made them! Anyway, if you ever wonder about how great these classes are, just ask me!!

And that's how we found ourselves walking around Westfield Mall in Roseville. We saw S&L Gem and decided to browse around. At first glance, it appeared to be any generic "no-name" jewelry store in the mall. But after meeting Merna for the first time, she invigorated something in my spirit, and I felt such peace to finalize the deal with her. Disclaimer alert: I will squeeze salesmen/women dry so I always come out in a favorable position. I wasn't even that ecstatic about my ring choice, but my wife-to-be was, and that was good enough for me. So I started to negotiate just as any smart customer should, and to my surprise, she met me very close to my desired number. She couldn't do the same for my fiancé's ring, but I didn't care at this point. Within 5 minutes of engaging with her, I immediately liked her and realized that she's a wonderful person and so I decided to close the deal anyway. Now, after less than 30 minutes in the store, we walked out with two wedding bands in production and one less thing to stress about. Let me introduce you to Merna for all of your jewelry needs. Bought a 21K bracelet here a week ago. Came back to get it fixed or exchanged. I paid $800+$80 life…read moretime maintenance. Sticker price was $1000. Probably worth of $650-7 $750 to be honest. Couldn't tell me how many grams was the bracelet. Was told verbally it was 3-4gs. Went to a different jeweler today and was told it was 2.4g. They even exchanged me for a 10k bracelet which was sticker priced for $999 and took away my life time warranty as "fair exchange" to top it all off I went to the Arden location first to see if I could get the bracelet fixed there or get an exchange, the ladies there couldn't tell me which item I could exchange it for. No knowledge of pricing whatsoever! No compensation for inconvenience of driving from Arden to Roseville either! take your business elsewhere! Trash management and business.

I walked into Big Trees Market at 6:50 PM last night (3/31) to grab a few quick items. There were…read morestill multiple customers shopping--completely normal. At 7:01, an announcement came on saying the store had been closed for one minute and to head to the register. Totally fair. I needed one more thing from produce so I hurried- another announcement at 7:02 said to "stop shopping- we are closed" I grabbed my last item and went up front. By 7:03, I was already being checked out. And yet the reaction from staff was... unbelievable. There were several employees standing at the front just staring at me--clearly irritated, like I'd personally ruined their evening. It was three minutes past closing. Not 30. Not 15. Three. Then it somehow got worse. They were out of bags (understandable), so I asked if I could use the hand basket to carry my items to my car, which was literally parked right in front of the doors to the store. I was told no, "these baskets cant leave the store"--and that I needed to go outside and get a cart instead. So I had to run out, grab a cart, and come back in... while the entire staff stood there watching me. There must have been 6 or 7 employees glaring at me with dirty looks like I had insulted them personally. The older checker was grumpy and rude, but honestly the whole team contributed to making the experience feel hostile and unwelcoming. I completely understand wanting to close on time. But if ringing someone up at 7:03 feels like a crisis to your staff, that's a management issue--not a customer problem. Also- why not sell reusable bags if you run out of bags so often? I would have bought one to make it faster for me to exit the store. Seems like a simple solution to avoid the extreme stress your staff is experiencing
