Their diesel pumps are located out behind the station, but well lit at night, no worries. Family Chevron also has propane. Their pumps work by credit card 24/7, even after they have closed the store part and turned out the lights. One gripe- Their gasoline pumps don't work right on my Jeep. They work fine on our other vehicles, but on the Jeep, no way. The problem is, when you start the pump, it immediately shuts itself off, as if the tank was full. I have to hold the nozzle part way in and hold the foreskin on the nozzle back with the opposite hand, and run the pump as slow as possible just to fill the Jeep. Does it on every pump at Family Chevron, but the Jeep fills just fine at every other station in or out of town. Never had the problem filling it in Stockton or Lodi, or anywhere, just at Family Chevron in Valley Springs. I have no answer, neither does the dealer. Must be something they do at Fam Chevron. So, when the Jeep needs fuel, I just go to one of the other gas stations. We have a Shell and a 76 in Valley Springs real close to the Chevron. Usually, they're a little cheaper too. But I still fill my truck at Family Chevron since it's so close to my house.

I'm always amazed at what I can find there, and I'm so glad I don't need to drive all the way to the big stores, saving those trips for another day. We also fill up our gas there when running low, which is very convenient before hitting the lake or before heading to the city areas. So glad it's so close!

Staff here has been fine but they are understaffed and there have been times where I have walked up to the doors during open hours only to get a locked door and a hand written sign that says "Back in 10". I usually grab a Starbucks Vaniilla Frap in the class bottle if I need to run inside. It doesn't always feel super safe either but I do like that they have a carwash. I am not happy that I will be losing all my Speedway Rewards because I was told they are changing this location to a Shell station soon. Speedways are few and far between in this area so it's not even really worth looking for another one. I will probably not come here anymore and stop elsewhere for gas.
